Economic Murder – Study Links 120,000 Deaths in the U.K. Directly to Their Neoliberal Austerity Measures

Govt accused of ‘economic murder’ as study links Tory austerity to 120,000 health & social care deaths https://ind.pn/2mwjReI

But it’s not like there isn’t already a precedent set for this, now it is?

Funny isn’t it how monsters kill the poor with impunity and a sense of self righteous entitlement and our dear liberal class still loves and respects them and even brags about inviting them into their homes for tea and crumpets.

You down with the sickness?

Privatization Queen Betsy DeVos Gets Some Street Justice… Higher Education Style (good for you, Bethune-Cookman University)

by Scott Creighton

Couldn’t pass up on this one.

Sec. of Education, privatization queen Betsy DeVos, a woman who wants nothing more than to see the entire Department of Education privatized in order to make those billions of dollars available for the snake oil salesmen in the charter school industry, decided to get herself a little street cred by heading to Bethune-Cookman University to deliver their commencement address today.

Not a good move.

Betsy was booed mightily by the students attending the event. Many were angry because attendance was mandatory for graduation.

When she began her speech, the graduating class stood and turned their backs on her prompting the dean of the school to interrupt DeVos and threaten the students by saying if they didn’t behave, the cerimony would be over and he would “mail their degrees to them. Choose which way you want to go”

Students don’t like DeVos. For one reason, she said a while ago that traditionally black universities were rooted in the “school choice” movement. Of course, that is self-serving ridiculous crap. Traditionally black schools are rooted in racism as their students, while qualified, couldn’t get accepted at other schools because of their race. Especially in the south.

Betsy later walked back that insensitive comment but the damage was already done.

Roland Martin: That Hustla Ova There Tryna Sell Us School Privatization

by Bruce Dixon, BAR

Roland Martin pretends to be a journalist. But what does a guy do when the one percent won’t pay for an informed public? Roland is a hustla for hire, and he’s found a dependable set of clients. Roland is all about blackening up and selling us the destruction and privatization of public schools, which is what both elite Democrats and Republicans want. Journalists tell the truth without fear or favor. Hustlas do what they’re paid to do, and the charter school sugar daddies pay well…

Billionaire Religious Fanatic Public School Privatizer Betsy DeVos Becomes Trump’s Sec. of Education

by Scott Creighton

devos

the mask of the free market sociopath

I have written about this neoliberalization crap all day long for almost a decade now and as it unfolds it still makes me as sick as the first day I figured out what these fascist bastards were really up to.

Trump’s VP, Pence, had to step in and break the tie vote in the senate and so the billionaire privatizer who’s married to the Amway pyramid scheme fortune and the sister of Eric Prince (former owner of Blackwater and a guy looking forward to when he can cash in on the new Phoenix Program right here in America) is now your Secretary of Education.

Her goal, now that her cover is blown, will be to privatize as much of the Department of Education as she can, making billions in profits for her colleagues in the charter business while cheating at least a generation of young poor Americans out of their education.

Gov. Martinez of New Mexico can’t wait to help the “brave reformer” DeVos chop up public education on behalf of a couple billionaire oligarchs.

This isn’t about conservative verses liberal ideology. This is about bringing Milton Friedman’s economic brick to America and watching the Miracle of Chile being imposed on us in slow motion. School for profit ideology is sickening just like running prisons for profit or police for profit or wars for profit. It is all the same. And it sickens me.

Donald Trump has done a lot of things already that make me proud to have refused to vote for him. This tops the list thus far.  Makes you kinda wonder what he has up his sleeve next, doesn’t it?

Bathroom Brawl: Obama Administration Using Transgendered to Further Their School Privatization Agenda

by Scott Creighton

Under the left cover of President Barack Obama, his administration has been steadfast in it’s pursuit of the reactionary privatization of the entire public school system. From start to finish, “progressive” President Obama has been working diligently to neoliberalize as much of the state of the United States as he could possibly get away with.

  • Obama’s Public Education Policy: Privatization, Charters, Mass Firings, Neighborhood DestabilizationBruce Dixon, 2009
  • Obama Administration Enables Billionaire Takeover of America’s Public SchoolsDustin Beike, Jan. 2016

This ideology of wringing profits from state functions dates back to Augusto Pinochet’s neoliberal “miracle of Chile”: the Milton Friedman/ Henry Kissinger free-market experiment that took place after the CIA-backed coup in 1973 (on Sept. 11th, 1973 to be exact)

We can now add to his previous attempts at mass firings, the “Race to the Top” and under-funding destabilization campaigns, their most recent effort to undermine the institution of public education: the Bathroom Brawl crisis.

When presidents embark on their last year in office, they tend to attempt to wrap-up as many dangling projects as they can in service to the masters of the universe that they serve. Hence we are now looking at yet another set of phony sarin gas reports from Syria, a project President Peace Prize would love to bring to a conclusion prior to his leaving office. Getting the TPP and the TTIP signed and delivered is another project he would like to accomplish before he leaves.

We can add to that his desire to bring the school privatization project further along before he and his family clean out the linen closet at 1600.

Tempest in a Teapot: The Story of Neoliberal Kristen McQueary and Longing for a Katrina in Chicago

by Scott Creighton

Sometimes the neoliberal apologists for the neoliberal Free-Marketeers go too far.

Sometimes their editors have to erase the little peek they give us inside the minds of the sociopaths who make up the Milton Friedman True Believer class.

Sometimes they have to write unapologetic apologies when civil society reacts with horror at the shear selfishness and cruelty these Ayn Randians harbor deep down inside.

“Envy isn’t a rational response to the upcoming 10-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

But with Aug. 29 fast approaching and New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu making media rounds, including at the Tribune Editorial Board, I find myself wishing for a storm in Chicago — an unpredictable, haughty, devastating swirl of fury. A dramatic levee break. Geysers bursting through manhole covers. A sleeping city, forced onto the rooftops.

That’s what it took to hit the reset button in New Orleans. Chaos. Tragedy. Heartbreak

An underperforming public school system saw a complete makeover. A new schools chief, Paul Vallas, designed a school system with the flexibility of an entrepreneur (privatized). No restrictive mandates from the city (deregulated) or the state. No demands from teacher unions to abide (no labor protections). Instead, he created the nation’s first free-market education system

That’s why I find myself praying for a real storm. That’s why I can relate, metaphorically, to the residents of New Orleans climbing onto their rooftops and begging for help and waving their arms and lurching toward rescue helicopters” original version of Kristen McQueary’s libertarian/neoliberal screed

not so cute sometimes I guess

That’s what happened when cute little libertarian Kristen McQueary penned her latest OpEd for the Chicago Tribune in which she pined away wishing for a Hurricane Katrina to come to Chicago and wash away all that liberal excess so the neoliberal economic hit-men could remake the city into Galt’s Gulch like they did in New Orleans.

It’s called “disaster capitalism” and in the case of New Orleans, it only cost about 1,800 lives and countless people being made homeless. That’s to say nothing of the corrupt, fascist, privatized public education system (the kind promoted by Rahm Emanuel, Jeb Bush and Ron Paul alike) they installed in the wake of the storm which has cost countless futures for countless kids of the poor and working classes of that once great city.

Just for shits and giggles, you guys do understand that the father of modern day charter school ideology was Augusto Pinochet under his Milton Friedman inspired dictatorship, right?
