Obama’s Next Neoliberal Regime Change: Venezuela president declares emergency, cites U.S., domestic ‘threats’

from Reuters

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro declared a 60-day state of emergency on Friday due to what he called plots from within the OPEC country and the United States to topple his leftist government.

Maduro did not provide details of the measure. A previous state of emergency, implemented in states near the Colombian border last year, suspended constitutional guarantees in those areas, except for guarantees relating to human rights.

Earlier on Friday, U.S. intelligence officials told reporters they were increasingly worried about the potential for an economic and political meltdown in Venezuela and predicted Maduro was not likely to complete his term.

Venezuela’s opposition is seeking to recall the unpopular leader, 53, amid a worsening crisis that includes food and medicine shortages, frequent power cuts, sporadic looting and galloping inflation.

But the former union leader and bus driver has vowed to stick out his term, and accuses the United States of fomenting an undercover coup against him. He pointed to this week’s impeachment of fellow leftist Dilma Rousseff in Brazil as a sign that he is next.

“Washington is activating measures at the request of Venezuela’s fascist right, who are emboldened by the coup in Brazil,” Maduro said during a Friday night broadcast on state television.

West tries to use extremism for color revolutions in Russia — Federation Council speaker

from TASS News

The West uses political, ethnic and religious extremism as a geopolitical instrument, including for trying to organize “color revolutions” in Russia, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said on Wednesday.

“Extremism is used as a geopolitical instrument, for reshaping the spheres of influence, overthrowing regimes undesirable for some countries by the means of organizing ‘color revolutions’,” Matviyenko said. “The West makes attempts to organize them [‘color revolutions’] in Russia as well,” she added. These efforts are directed at “discrediting the authorities and destabilizing the situation in Russia, and using both extremist elements and opposition for that,” the speaker noted.

“The Russian government does not plan to embark on a course of ‘tightening screws’ and suppressing ‘dissent’,” Matviyenko stressed. “The authorities are ready for dialogue with the opposition, they will continue to develop partnership with the civil society. Such dialogue and such partnership are important,” she said. However, “it is useless to start discussions with those who works on orders from abroad, in the interests of a foreign country or foreign countries,” Matviyenko added.

New “Chlorine Gas Barrel Bomb” Propaganda Video Custom Made for Obama’s New “Red Line” in Syria – Kurdistan Waits in Wings

by Scott Creighton (H/T Nancy)

UPDATE: Go over to carinaragno’s website to read about how three U.S. servicemen were recently photographed in Kobani helping Kurdish separatists fighting against the Syrian government for their new Kurdistan homeland.

———-

Obama and folks like Rand Paul, are trying to take the northern half of Syria and give it to the pro-Western Kurds as part of their new Kurdistan. We can’t let them do it.

Two weeks ago the United States rammed through a seemingly meaningless resolution in the UN Security Council which basically said the legitimate government in Syria that Obama is determined to oust from office had better not drop barrel bombs filled with chlorine gas on their own people or Barack will start bombing the people of that country like he did when they made up lies about Gaddafi and started a “no fly zone” over there.

It was the “new” red line for Obama. You might remember the “old” red line for Obama involved the use of chemical weapons and just as soon as that was tossed out there, the “moderate” terrorists run by the likes of John McCain staged a nice chemical weapons attack and the Obama administration and all of the MSM tried to frame Assad for it. They failed miserably and it was all forgotten and forgiven. We still fund the “moderate” terrorist friends of John McCain who used the chemical weapons.

Two days ago a video surfaced which claims to show victims of exactly the same kind of weapon that was defined as the “new red line” for Obama. What a coincidence.

US Proxy Terror War on Venezuela

by James Petras, NSNBC

Protest, dissent and terrorist wars are obviously very distinct forms of expressing opposition and bringing about change. The Obama-Kerry regime claim that the opposition in Venezuela is a “protest movement” a “peaceful, democratic opposition” expressing discontent with economic conditions and that the democratically elected Maduro Administration is an ‘authoritarian regime’ violently repressing dissent. Washington claims to play no part in the action of the opposition and that its pronouncements are directed at furthering democratic freedoms.

The overwhelming evidence speaks to the contrary. By every measure, the opposition has engaged in prolonged and extensive violent activity, including terrorist acts, assassinations, arson, destruction of public property, including the murder of military officials and civilian supporters of the government. Widely circulated photographs, even in media outlets backing Washington, show opposition activists throwing Molotov cocktails and building barricades for street warfare.

The Obama-Kerry Administration is in total denial of each and every violent act by the opposition; it unconditionally defends the opposition; it forcibly attacks and demonizes each and every effort by the Government to defend the rights of its citizens, uphold the Constitution and enforce law and order. The Obama-Kerry regime’s political intervention, its escalating rhetoric, is designed to incite the opposition to continue and intensify its violent activity to destablize the country..

Kerry’s vitriolic rhetoric is timed to coincide with the ebb of opposition activity. The purpose is to assure the opposition that Washington stands four-square with open terror warfare. The Obama regime’s propaganda, economic sanctions and channeling of financial and military resources is designed to buttress the declining fortunes of the terror campaign. Kerry- Obama sanctions and propaganda war complements the violent terrorist war internally.

USA declares war on democracy

by Kevin Ryan, Press TV

Since the days of President Woodrow Wilson – that is, for roughly 100 years – the USA has been on a self-styled crusade to “make the world safe for democracy.”

Colossal wars, hot and cold, were fought against German kaisers and fuhrers, Russian communists, and Third World nationalists. The American people were told they were “defending democracy.”

Americans slaughtered 3.5 million Vietnamese, and nearly another million Cambodians, to “defend democracy” in Southeast Asia.

They murdered millions of Iraqis through wars and sanctions to “defend democracy” in the Middle East.

According to André Vltchek and Noam Chomsky’s book On Western Terrorism, the US government has murdered between 55 and 60 million people since World War II in wars and interventions all over the world. If we believe the imperial propagandists, this American Holocaust has been one big defense of democracy.

But now, on the eve of the 100th anniversary of World War I, the US has embarked on a new crusade – to make the world UNSAFE for democracy.

In Ukraine, Venezuela, and Thailand, the US is spending billions of dollars to unconstitutionally eject democratically-elected governments. In Palestine, the US has been trying to overthrow the democratically-elected Hamas government ever since it came to power. In Egypt, the US – under Zionist pressure – recently overthrew the only genuinely democratic government in 5,000 years of recorded history. In Syria, the US insists that the people must not be given the opportunity to re-elect Assad, no matter how many international observers and safeguards ensure honest elections. And in Turkey, the US is undermining the democratically-elected Prime Minister Erdogan in favor of CIA puppet Fethullah Gulen.

Taking the long view, the US is working patiently to destroy democracy in Iran, Russia, and Latin America.

Why does the US government hate democracy?

Because the international bankers who own the US government and run the US empire cannot always buy enough votes to impose their will on every country. So democracy is fine – as long as voters elect the New World Order candidate. But if they vote for a candidate who doesn’t suit the oligarchs, get ready for a coup!

The banksters will overthrow any government that stands up to them – even in the USA. The “termination with extreme prejudice” of the presidency of John F. Kennedy sent a message to all future US presidents.

US-Backed Venezuelan Opposition trying to use Ukraine-style Protests to Take Power

Today’s Ridiculous Pro-Regime Change Propaganda – What’s Old is New Again

by Scott Creighton

UPDATE: See the slick “I am a Ukrainian” video at the end of this article. It’s slightly better propaganda but just another KONY 2012 campaign. Again, nothing new.

————

As the real economy continues to shrink with jobs becoming even more scarce, it would appear there is one sector of the economy that is literally “booming” and that would be the “Ridiculous Pro-Regime Change Propaganda” industry.

With varying degrees of intensity, the regime change machine is up and running in six “unfriendly” nations which are all targets of our “freedom and democracy” agenda: Russia, North Korea, Syria, Thailand, the Ukraine and Venezuela. In some cases it’s simply a matter of setting the ground work for future calls for another “humanitarian intervention”. In others, bombs are exploding and bullets are flying with the body-count climbing fast and furious.

When sycophants get wind of a sea change, of a shift in the global tide of economic opportunism, they are rarely talented enough to generate the kinds of fresh ideas needed to set them apart from the gaggle of preening wannabees who surround them.

Everyone at this point understands that they can get ahead by jumping on the globalization bandwagon with some eye-catching propaganda that might make headlines for a minute or two and help our Peace Prize “winning” president justify another humanitarian bombing. The trouble is, these C+ guys by their own nature, aren’t the best and the brightest. They succeeded (if you wish to call it that) by sucking up to whomever they could, positioning themselves as the perennial Yesmen to whatever power structure they encountered.

Today, the lack of real creativity in this overstuffed field is evidenced by some rather stupid propaganda and stunt retreads being peddled out there as attempts to force regime change on several nations with the audacity to refuse to take part in our neoliberal for-profit central banking pyramid scheme known as “globalization”

Here’s a brief rundown:
