‘We can’t ignore the people’: Parliament backs Brexit bill in landslide vote

from RT

Britain’s departure from the EU moved a step closer on Wednesday evening, when MPs voted overwhelmingly in favor of the government’s Brexit bill, by 498 to 114 votes.

After two days of debate, MPs voted to push the European Union (Notification of Withdrawal) Bill through to the next stage. After the bill fully clears parliament, Prime Minister Theresa May can trigger Article 50 and begin formal negotiations with the EU…

British Supreme Court Says Corrupt British Parliament Must Vote on Brexit Start

by Scott Creighton

The British Supreme Court has ruled that the Brexit vote held last year, June 2016, which simply asked “Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?” was essentially meaningless other than serving as a sort of massive opinion poll. According to them by an 8 to 3 count, the United Kingdom cannot leave the European Union without a vote in Parliament first. In fact, the ruling says Theresa May cannot even begin talks with the EU about Britain’s exit without a vote.

Parliament must vote on whether the government can start the Brexit process, the Supreme Court has ruled.

The judgement means Theresa May cannot begin talks with the EU until MPs and peers give their backing – although this is expected to happen in time for the government’s 31 March deadline.

But the court ruled the Scottish Parliament and Welsh and Northern Ireland assemblies did not need a say.

Brexit Secretary David Davis will make a statement to MPs later on Tuesday.

During the Supreme Court hearing, campaigners argued that denying the UK Parliament a vote was undemocratic.” BBC

The British parliament is about as corrupt as the American congress. Maybe more so. I don’t know how anything could be more corrupt, but I guess it’s possible. What’s interesting is the fact that their Supreme Court decided that taking the will of the people and acting upon that would be “undemocratic”

It’s an interesting definition of the term they use I suppose. Perhaps it’s something akin to all those “democracies” we install, promote and prop-up in other countries across the globe.

Nice Truck Attack: Reactionary French State of Emergency Extended, Gladio Success Achieved

by Scott Creighton

Back on Nov. 17, 2015, I wrote about French president Hollande demanding a change to the French constitution which would effectively allow the government to strip anyone of their constitutional rights if they were merely suspected of terrorist ties. He pushed for this following the attacks in Paris that month. Here is how the Huffington Post covered it:

During a rare trip to the Palace of Versailles Monday French President François Hollande called on lawmakers to change France’s constitution in order to better protect the country.

Hollande referred to article 36 of the charter as outdated, and asked that parliament change it to give the government greater power without needing to resort to a state of emergency.

“We are at war, this new kind of war demands a constitution that can manage a state in crisis,” he said.

He announced that he is submitting a proposal to extend the state of emergency by three months and asked parliament to vote on it before the end of the week.

He also suggested enacting a law that would revoke French citizenship from anyone linked to terrorist attacks, however he didn’t elaborate on how this law would be applied. Huffington Post

In May of this year, the French parliament voted to extend the state of emergency by two months. It was scheduled to end on the 26th of July. Now, that’s not going to happen. With the TTIP waiting in the wings and thoughts of a Frexit whispering around the country, the emergency laws provide the French establishment all the tools they need to squash such notions before they become another French Revolution.

Ataturk Airport Bombing ala Gladio 2.0, Steals Headlines from Benghazi/CIA Commission Report

by Scott Creighton

You can always count on “ISIS™” to strike at the most opportune moment for Western interests. This is a pattern that has been well established in recent “ISIS™” history.

When we started loosing control of our puppet regime in war-torn Libya and the people started rising up to kick our corrupt cronies to the curb, “ISIS™” suddenly showed up and thus we had all the justification we needed to start bombing again.

It works something like this:

https://willyloman.files.wordpress.com/2015/08/big-picture.jpg?w=252&h=216

When globalist interests wanted Japan to tear-up their peace constitution making way for Obama’s “pivot to Asia”, “ISIS™” decided to make a ridiculous beheading video featuring Hapless Haruna which was so badly Photoshoped, not only did Fox News have to admit it was a fake, but the Japanese people started up a bad Photoshop contest making fun of the “news’ story.

On Dec. 25th, 2014, I entered the contest with this effort. Notice how it pulls “ISIS™” into the all important War on Christmas? Subtle, huh?

santa

I think I should have won but since I’m not Japanese and since I made it with Autocad and not Photoshop, I was disqualified. Racist bastards.

Truth is, there is a VERY long history of “ISIS™” popping up just where they are needed to justify whatever the CIA or the MIC or NATO or Obama wants at the moment. Unless you are brain-dead or a total shill (or coward), you cannot deny it.

Is the European Superstate the Answer to the Brexit Democratic “Contagion” or the Birth of the Fatherland 2.0?

by Scott Creighton

Germany and the new Vichy France are pushing Poland and other former eastern block nations to sign-up for the new One State Solution in Europe: the European Superstate… aka The Fatherland. I guess this falls under the “you gotta be shitting me” category.

Since I always cower in the face of pure totalitarian fascism, I’ve done our new European technocrat overlords a little favor. I made them a new flag design. They are welcome to use it. Be my guest.

new eu flag

It is being reported that minsters from France and Germany are in Prague today meeting with the Visegrad Group or V4 (Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary (with Ukraine and Romania)) in a hastily called meeting designed to counter issues that have arisen as a result of the Brexit vote.

Clearly, the technocrats that rule the globalist entity known as the European Union (EU) are concerned about the contagion of freedom that might make it’s way to their eastern-most reaches. Sound familiar?

Brexit and the Diseased Liberal Mind

(I refer you back to the recent post I put up talking about the “liberals” of the New Dem movement. The fake left, the Business Party Left as I call them, the neoliberal, reactionary, fascist corporatist left. In fact, that’s pretty much been the focus of this website since it started 9 years ago.)

by Jonathan Cook, Global Research

The enraged liberal reaction to the Brexit vote is in full flood. The anger is pathological – and helps to shed light on why a majority of Britons voted for leaving the European Union, just as earlier a majority of Labour party members voted for Jeremy Corbyn as leader.

A few years ago the American writer Chris Hedges wrote a book he titled the Death of the Liberal Class. His argument was not so much that liberals had disappeared, but that they had become so coopted by the right wing and its goals – from the subversion of progressive economic and social ideals by neoliberalism, to the ethusiastic embrace of neonservative doctrine in prosecuting aggressive and expansionist wars overseas in the guise of “humanitarian intervention” – that liberalism had been hollowed out of all substance.

Liberal pundits sensitively agonise over, but invariably end up backing, policies designed to benefit the bankers and arms manufacturers, and ones that wreak havoc domestically and abroad. They are the “useful idiots” of modern western societies.

Reading this piece on the fallout from Brexit by Zoe Williams, a columnist who ranks as leftwing by the current standards of the deeply diminished Guardian, one can isolate this liberal pathology in all its sordid glory.

Here is a revealing section, written by a mind so befuddled by decades of neoliberal orthodoxy that it has lost all sense of the values it claims to espouse:

There is a reason why, when Marine le Pen and Donald Trump congratulated us on our decision, it was like being punched in the face – because they are racists, authoritarian, small-minded and backward-looking. They embody the energy of hatred. The principles that underpin internationalism – cooperation, solidarity, unity, empathy, openness – these are all just elements of love.

One wonders where in the corridors of the EU bureaucracy Williams identifies that “love” she so admires. Did she see it when the Greeks were being crushed into submission after they rebelled against austerity policies that were themselves a legacy of European economic policies that had required Greece to sell off the last of its family silver?

Is she enamoured of this internationalism when the World Bank and IMF go into Africa and force developing nations into debt-slavery, typically after a dictator has trashed the country decades after being installed and propped up with arms and military advisers from the US and European nations?

What about the love-filled internationalism of Nato, which has relied on the EU to help spread its military tentacles across Europe close to the throat of the Russian bear? Is that the kind of cooperation, solidarity and unity she was thinking of?

Williams then does what a lot of liberals are doing at the moment. She calls for subversion of the democratic will:

The anger of the progressive remain side, however, has somewhere to go: always suckers for optimism, we now have the impetus to put aside ambiguity in the service of clarity, put aside differences in the service of creativity. Out of embarrassment or ironic detachment, we’ve backed away from this fight for too long.

That includes seeking the ousting of Jeremy Corbyn, of course. “Progressive” Remainers, it seems, have had enough of him. His crime is that he hails from “leftwing aristocracy” – his parents were lefties too, apparently, and even had such strong internationalist principles that they first met at a committee on the Spanish civil war.

But Corbyn’s greater crime, according to Williams, is that “he is not in favour of the EU”. It would be too much trouble for her to try and untangle the knotty problem of how a supreme internationalist like Corbyn, or Tony Benn before him, could be so against the love-filled EU. So she doesn’t bother.

We will never know from Williams how a leader who supports oppressed and under-privileged people around the world is cut from the same cloth as racists like Le Pen and Trump. That would require the kind of “agile thinking” she accuses Corbyn of being incapable of. It might hint that there is a leftwing case quite separate from the racist one – even if Corbyn was not allowed by his party to advocate it – for abandoning the EU. (You can read my arguments for Brexit here and here.)
