Military Coup in Turkey: Post Mortem

by Scott Creighton

Last night on CNN, former CIA spook Robert Baer was despondent, irreconcilably inconsolable. He was talking to a CNN “journalist” about the coup attempt in Turkey which at that point was looking like it was quickly becoming a failed coup attempt.

Baer laid out a list of what he said were mistakes by the coup leaders and stressed that he himself had taken part in many CIA-backed coups over the course of his career so he was speaking from experience. “Baer would have done it better” was the point of the discussion as he mourned the missed opportunity for undemocratic regime change by violence in Turkey.

The normalization of the CIA’s policy of brutality was chilling. But Baer does have a point. He is experienced.

“Since 1953, the US has either attempted or carried out 80 coups since 1953. That is more than one per year.” Daily KOS 2014

On MSNBC Rachel Maddow, the fake-left sycophantic Clinton cheerleader, it took them less than 5 minutes after Erdogan regained control of the country for them to start demonizing him again. Millions of Turks were out on the streets, had risked their lives and their freedom to thwart the unconstitutional coup and the first thing Maddow and company could do was start talking about their elected leader being a “power-mad dictator” locking up journalists and arresting opposition leaders.

Maddow’s guest, I forget which “foreign policy expert” it was, said looking at the airport where a hundred thousand citizens greeted Erdogan’s plane, that he was some kind of “populist… like Huey Long”

He spit the name out like he expected it to be censored like the “F” bomb or the “N” word. Maddow shuddered.

Oh God. Imagine a leftist who stands up for his constituency. The madness!

This morning CNN is covering Trump’s VP pick. Fox News is covering the Republican convention. And MSNBC is showing a rerun of an older Rachel Maddow show.

The coup attempt failed and the Mockingbird press wants us to simply “move along”

So it’s up to me to give you guys a wrap-up of last night’s events.

Ataturk Airport Bombing ala Gladio 2.0, Steals Headlines from Benghazi/CIA Commission Report

by Scott Creighton

You can always count on “ISIS™” to strike at the most opportune moment for Western interests. This is a pattern that has been well established in recent “ISIS™” history.

When we started loosing control of our puppet regime in war-torn Libya and the people started rising up to kick our corrupt cronies to the curb, “ISIS™” suddenly showed up and thus we had all the justification we needed to start bombing again.

It works something like this:

https://willyloman.files.wordpress.com/2015/08/big-picture.jpg?w=252&h=216

When globalist interests wanted Japan to tear-up their peace constitution making way for Obama’s “pivot to Asia”, “ISIS™” decided to make a ridiculous beheading video featuring Hapless Haruna which was so badly Photoshoped, not only did Fox News have to admit it was a fake, but the Japanese people started up a bad Photoshop contest making fun of the “news’ story.

On Dec. 25th, 2014, I entered the contest with this effort. Notice how it pulls “ISIS™” into the all important War on Christmas? Subtle, huh?

santa

I think I should have won but since I’m not Japanese and since I made it with Autocad and not Photoshop, I was disqualified. Racist bastards.

Truth is, there is a VERY long history of “ISIS™” popping up just where they are needed to justify whatever the CIA or the MIC or NATO or Obama wants at the moment. Unless you are brain-dead or a total shill (or coward), you cannot deny it.

Neocon Michael Rubin (pen name Peter Korzun?) Openly Calls for Military Coup in Turkey

by Scott Creighton

All those so-called “alternative” journalists out there who have been steadily regurgitating the anti-Erdogan rhetoric of this latest neoliberal regime change operation in the Middle East (and I am talking to you Lizzie Phelan and Steve Lendman) should take note: this is what you are supporting.

Yesterday Peter Korzun of the Strategic Culture Foundation posted an article in which he clearly calls for the military of Turkey to stage a coup in order to take control away from the elected government of the country and specifically, Recep Erdogan, because he is a “sultan”

In order to make his point on a so-called “progressive” “anti-war” and “anti-imperialism” website, Korzun chooses some rather suspect “experts” to help him make his case:

Michael Rubin, a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute and a former Pentagon officialpredicts an imminent military coup in Turkey. According to the expert, «Turks – and the Turkish military – increasingly recognize that Erdogan is taking Turkey to the precipice». Rubin believes that «he [Erdogan] has taken Turkey down a path in which there is no chance of victory and a high chance of de facto partition». According to him, «If the Turkish military moves to oust Erdogan and place his inner circle behind bars, could they get away with it? In the realm of analysis rather than advocacy, the answer is yes». Rubin writes, it is doubtful that the Obama administration would do more than castigate any coup leaders, especially if they immediately laid out a clear path to the restoration of democracy. Neither Turkey nor Greece lost their NATO membership after coups.

The Turkish military has long seen itself as the «guardian of Turkish democracy», which it defines as the staunchly secular state created by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the modern Turkish republic..” Peter Korzun

Yes, that is the same neocon Michael Rubin of the Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld days being quoted as a source by the “anti-imperialist” Peter Korzun in his article calling for an undemocratic military coup in Turkey.

Between 2004 and 2009, he was editor of the Middle East Quarterly. He has received fellowships from the Council on Foreign Relations,[3] and the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs.

Rubin has lectured in history at Yale University, Hebrew University, Johns Hopkins University, and worked as visiting lecturer at Universities of Sulaymaniyah, Salahuddin, and Duhok, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Between 2002 and 2004, Rubin worked as a country director for Iran and Iraq in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, from which he was seconded to the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq.[4]

And yes, a military coup in Turkey to get rid of the elected government and Recep Erdogan is exactly what Peter Korzun is calling for.

No. South Sudan is NOT a Regime Change Operation – It’s a Product Re-branding Program

by Scott Creighton

It bothers me a great deal when I read or hear misinformation spread by otherwise credible sources. These days it’s hard to figure out who has sold out and who hasn’t… as of yet. That’s why when I listened to the X22 Report yesterday I was a bit surprised to hear him infer that Obama had betrayed the government of South Sudan by making them sign a deal in order to ease the internal conflict in the country. X22 made a comparison between that arrangement and the Minsk II agreement in Ukraine which is ridiculous on it’s surface but more troubling is equating the illegitimate government of South Sudan to the rebels in eastern Ukraine.

As is often the case as of late, the United States has found itself in the unenviable position of having to remove various puppet leaders when things get too bad, or, more importantly, too visible on the international stage for them to continue to rule with an shred of legitimacy. It isn’t really about maintaining the illusion of legitimacy for our government’s client state in the nation as it is providing the indigenous population the pretext to “believe” that “change” is upon them.

I’ll give you a couple examples with the most notable being another case that was twisted by the so-called “alternative” gurus out there like “Tony Cartalucci” and Webster Tarpley and that is the example of the 2011 Egyptian revolution.

The “ISIS™” Operandi: What is Happening in Libya? Part 1

by Scott Creighton

First we review the Modus operandi, or the “method of operations” of President Peace Prize and NATO

When the people got tired of our puppet dictator in Yemen, Ali Abdullah Saleh, a legitimate people’s revolution removed him from power and in his place they allowed a phony, one candidate “election” to take place in 2012 (orchestrated by Hillary Clinton’s State Department) and they got another puppet of the West, Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

Once it was clear he was no different that the previous dictator, in Sept of last year, the Houthis from the west rose up and took control of the nation, evicting our puppet ruler and effectively taking control of the country.

The current government of Yemen is deemed “illegitimate” by Western/NATO interests while they fully back the current neo-Nazi, fascist government in Ukraine which came to power via a US-backed bloody color revolution last year as well.

These same Western interests also support the illegitimate junta currently ruling Thailand which also came to power in a US backed coup in 2014.

Remember Rab’a: Establish International Inquiry Into Rab’a Massacre

from Human Rights Watch

Egyptian authorities have held no government official or member of the security forces responsible for the mass killing of protesters in Cairo’s Rab’a al-Adawiya Square two years ago. On August 14, 2013, security forces killed at least 817 people and most likely more than 1,000 at a mass sit-in in what probably amounted to crimes against humanity.

Given the Egyptian government’s refusal to properly investigate the killings or provide any redress for the victims, the United Nations Human Rights Council should establish an international commission of inquiry into the brutal clearing of the Rab’a al-Adawiya sit-in and other mass killings of protesters in July and August 2013. The African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights should establish a similar investigation.

State Department: “Assad Regime is the Root of All Evil” in Syria Because He Stands in the Way of Greater Kurdistan

by Scott Creighton

“The discovery in 2009 of a new gas field near Israel, Lebanon, Cyprus, and Syria opened new possibilities to bypass the Saudi Barrier and to secure a new source of income. Pipelines are in place already in Turkey to receive the gas. Only Al-Assad is in the way

This video from RT is interesting on a number of levels. Among other things it shows the Obama administration is right on track in their efforts to build a new country, Greater Kurdistan, and Assad and all those Syrians who support the sovereignty of their nation are simply getting in the way.
