U.S. CentCom Declares War On Russia (MoA)

from Moon of Alabama

Yesterday three high ranking Russian officers were killed in an “ISIS attack” in eastern-Syrian. It is likely that they were killed by U.S. special forces or insurgents under U.S. special forces control. The incident will be understood as a declaration of war.

The U.S. Central Command in the Middle East wants the oil fields in east-Syria under control of its proxy forces to set up and control a U.S. aligned Kurdish mini-state in the area. The Syrian government, allied with Russia, needs the revenues of the oil fields to rebuild the country.

Last week the Russians issued sharply worded statements against U.S. coordination with al-Qaeda terrorists in Idleb province and warned of further escalation.

Yesterday the Russian Ministry of Defense accused the U.S. military in east-Syria of direct collaboration with the Islamic State:

US Army special units provide free passage for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) through the battle formations of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) terrorists, the ministry said in a statement.“Facing no resistance of the ISIS militants, the SDF units are advancing along the left shore of the Euphrates towards Deir ez-Zor,” the statement reads.

The newly released images “clearly show that US special ops are stationed at the outposts previously set up by ISIS militants.”

“Despite that the US strongholds being located in the ISIS areas, no screening patrol has been organized at them,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said.

This map marks the currently relevant conflict area – (U.S. proxies – yellow, SAA – red, ISIS – black):

The accusations are plausible. Large parts of ISIS in Deir Ezzor consist of local tribal forces from eastern-Syria. U.S. special envoy Brett McGurk recently met tribal leaders who had earlier pledged allegiance to ISIS. Deals were made. As we wrote:

The U.S. diplomat tasked with the job, Brett McGurk, recently met with local tribal dignitaries of the area. Pictures of the meeting were published. Several people pointed out that the very same dignitaries were earlier pictured swearing allegiance to the Islamic State.

  1. But, but, but the flag, the pledge of allegiance, ‘merica….

  2. How can we be so stupid?! Oh…. that’s right, Orange Ronald is our President….. guess we are just plain stupid with everything now.

    • Bad as my memory has become, I don’t remember much about Ronald, except that I didn’t like him.

To me, now, Donald is the worst ever, and I voted for him to keep us out of a war. Now, he sounds like he’s determined to start one with North Korea.

There’s money to be made in them things.

  3. Oh my god, the NY Times has a Syria story up with an open Comments section. Hope to read some anti-war comments from everyone. The majority of NY Times readers have no clue what’s going on in the Middle East.

Yesterday the Russian Ministry of Defense accused the U.S. military in east-Syria of direct collaboration with the Islamic State after US special forces – posing as ISIS rebels – killed 3 Russian generals. Technically the incident can be understood as a declaration of war.

  5. I cannot process the dread implied in these events. The United States of America will be remembered as an empire maybe not as outwardly vicious as the Huns, but one more directly destructive in the actions it views as conducive to its wealth and power. My father viewed giving me the right to an American citizenship passed down from my mother’s side as helpful to my father in his conscious mind, and likely a way to live vicariously through me in his subconscious- I just see it as a mark of shame, and really, how many decent careers does Big PX Land offer now that don’t revolve around aiding the capitalist kleptocracy from one of its many facets, or only involves a few degrees of separation at most? I really don’t want WWIII to ever be kickstarted, least of all because atomic, hydrogen and other weapons put life on Earth at the greatest risk it’s ever had. Only a complete monster with a negligible trace of healthy human emotions would be willing to, if not annihilate us entirely, consign the survivors to a future describing ad hellish would be an understatement, all for the sake of bullshit personal ambitions. Perhaps humanity’s epitaph should read “Those who owned 50 yachts but still had not enough, committed the unspeakable and caused the collective death of their species for the promise of greater profit and pleasure”.

    • today while the sec of offense was visiting Afghanistan, there was an attack and US planes “accidentally” killed a bunch of civilians… again. the Taliban apparently attacked some military folk near where our glorious general was and we retaliated and… oops… killed some innocent civilians. Gee, it’s almost like we were sending a message. Nah, they would never resort to something that barbaric. Would they?
