Neoliberal News of the Day: July 17, 2017

by Scott Creighton

South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in has proposed a meeting with the government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) in an effort to deescalate the tensions between the two nations. This effort of his is in keeping with his campaign pledge to better the relationship between them. In spite of all our efforts to drive a wedge between them, it looks like the meeting will take place on Friday of this week. Look for a potential destabilization false flag between then and now.

South Korea has proposed holding military talks with the North, after weeks of heightened tension following Pyongyang’s long-range missile test.

If they were to go ahead, they would be the first high-level talks since 2015.

A senior official said talks should aim to stop “all hostile activities that raise military tension” at the fortified border between the Koreas.

South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in has long signalled he wants closer engagement with the North. BBC

In Venezuela, the fascist neoliberal opposition has staged a phony little “referendum” for all their supporters to show their opposition to a proposed an upcoming change to the country’s political system which will create a Constituent Assembly. The new legislative body promises to give regular people more access to and control of the left-leaning government. Of course, Big Business and their fascist brown shirts (“opposition”) are livid about this move. Their silly little “referendum” is being reported AS IF it were a real referendum held by the entire country and the dishonest mass media are reporting 98% of Venezuelans don’t want this new assembly to be created. Of course, the “opposition” of Brown Shirts are now promising MORE VIOLENCE to try to stop the process. It’s always violence with these fascists, isn’t it?

Energized by a massive vote against President Nicolas Maduro in an unofficial plebiscite, Venezuela’s opposition mulled on Monday how to escalate protests and block a new congress it fears may enshrine Socialist Party hegemony.

After months of street rallies that have led to nearly 100 deaths, the Democratic Unity coalition brought millions onto the streets on Sunday for an informal referendum intended to de-legitimize a leader they call a dictator.

Now, opposition leaders are promising “Zero Hour” in Venezuela to demand a general election and stop the leftist Maduro’s plan to create a controversial new legislative super-body called a Constituent Assembly in a July 30 vote. CNBC

Democratic congressman and Joe McCarthy wannabe, Adam Schiff, said on ABC This Week that it was kinda ok for the DNC to collude with the criminal neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine last year when they wanted to help Killary become the next president, but it certainly wasn’t for Russia to do the same in spite of the fact that there is no evidence Russia did anything to our elections and vast evidence the puppet regime we installed in Ukraine actually did. Schiff said it was like comparing bank robbery to writing a bad check. Both, he says, are done to get funds illegally from the bank, but one is clearly worse than the other. In short, the real crime committed by the Clinton folks isn’t as bad as the fiction we made up about the Trump camp. Only in America folks.

Over at Moon of Alabama blog B points out that a new line of Russia-hate is surfacing from a known shill who teaches at Harvard. This new propaganda features a photo purportedly showing a bunch of chairs with photos on them which represent all the journalists killed by Russian president Putin. MoA points out this photo has been around for a long time and it represents Russian journalists killed while reporting on various wars and the criminal activities of organized crime. Most of the dead journalists were killed long before Putin came to power. And as B points out, this shill from Harvard failed to mention the fact that many of the dead journalists were killed during the rule of our neoliberal puppet Boris Yeltsin who in fact was brought to power and then controlled by the Harvard Boys while he neoliberalized the nation and stole as much as he could get his hands on for himself and friends of the neoliberals who installed him in the first place.

That’s your neoliberal news of the day. Have a good Monday folks. Get out there and feed a squirrel or do something else useful. Gotta go try to fix that POS car of mine.

  1. Scott: apologies for the off topic
I heard back from Sarah Abed via email and she loved the piece- which included your work- sigh…
So nice to have appreciation as opposed to denigration 🙂
    Thought you’d like to know

    • thank you very much. congrats. it was good work. yes, it’s nice to get some positive feedback every now and again but to tell you the truth, I would kinda miss the trolls if they stopped. They are so colorful and creative in their bland and repetitious way. Frankly, I see their presence here as another form of validation, so I really don’t mind em. Did you post what she said? have a link?

      • Hey Willy- She emailed me- I tried everything I could to pass our combined info on-at Mint- at her site and finally I just emailed her
I feel as if I should ask her if it’s ok to post her email before I do?
What I’m hoping is she posts it at her site..
I’ll ask her if it’s ok to share the email and then I will post it

    • for those of you who don’t know, this is a link to some communication between Penny and Sarah. http://pennyforyourthoughts2.blogspot.com/2017/07/the-kurds-washingtons-weapons-of-mass.html

Penny and Sarah do good work on this subject. Great work actually. You should check it out when you get a chance.

  2. Used to be I could work on them, even enjoy it.

These days, I open the hood and wonder where the engine is among the rest of everything else.

All started when they got away from Flathead Fords

    • you need a masters in engineering and a voodoo doll to work on em now. all I do is sacrifice chickens to them. just kidding. I have a crappy 1991 so that’s way back in the wayback machine rankings. back when you could tell a distributor cap from the photon-laser-pruductuator-thingy-mahbob… sometimes it helps to be poor. 😉

  3. Willy: Do you have an email posted somewhere that I can contact you?

    • on the front page under the donation drive announcement and on my about page. but here it is RSCdesigns@tampabay.rr.com

      • Hey Scott, I just sent you an email!
Sarah has part two up and part three will soon be coming..
I’m going to link the two parts together as soon as she publishes the third

        • hi Penny. Just read your email. thanks. Uh, obviously when one writes about the situation with the Greater Kurdistan project, the long knives come out.
And there is a reason for that. It’s THE most important geo-political project since the creation of Israel and Saudi Arabia. So, I completely understand when
she says they attack her immediately when she posts anything that is less than glowing about the glorious Kurds. They used to do me the same way. But I would always
answer them with links to scholarly articles about Kurds committing ethnic cleansing or stuff written by journalists inside “iraqi kurdistan” about how
much worse life is now under Barzani than it was under even Maliki or Saddam. After a while their handlers learn that unless they want to spend
hours and hours trying to rebut the work of dozens more journalists to go along with mine, just leave it alone. I guess they figured that much out. who knows.
But I certainly understand. But it seems their little project might be on the back burner for a few weeks at least, until they can figure out the next false flag
event to kick it all off again. And that is good. Or maybe for now they will be satisfied with a little more autonomy in the region and keep hopes alive for
busting off a piece of 4 other nations for themselves somewhere down the road. Who knows. we will see. But, thanks for the mention. You and Sarah do good work.

          • “You and Sarah do good work”
            So do you Willy. 🙂

“It’s THE most important geo-political project since the creation of Israel and Saudi Arabia”

Indeed it is. It is the remake of the region. The one I’ve talked and talked about for so long now- As have you. It’s interesting to notice that this fact is moving more to the forefront, because, it’s getting so obvious- It can’t be denied. I’m just wondering if Trump will get the blame for the remake- Trump destabilized
Trump armed and woe is every one else- I can really see that occurring already with the civilian casualty count- Worse then Obama?
Not so sure about that. Not at all
