17 INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES = 20 HAND PICKED GUYS

June 29th, the New York Times posts a correction to a June 25th story they published about Trump and Russia “hacking”

Correction: June 29, 2017

A White House Memo article on Monday about President Trump’s deflections and denials about Russia referred incorrectly to the source of an intelligence assessment that said Russia orchestrated hacking attacks during last year’s presidential election. The assessment was made by four intelligence agencies — the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Security Agency. The assessment was not approved by all 17 organizations in the American intelligence community.

January 6, 2017 from LA Times U.S. intelligence report says Putin targeted presidential election to ‘harm’ Hillary Clinton’s chances

“… U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies found no evidence that hackers tampered with actual voting or with counting ballots on election day.

…The report, which Obama had requested, is a joint product of the CIA, the FBI and the National Security Agency. The three agencies said they had “high confidence” in the findings except for the assessment that Putin had aspired to help Trump’s chances. The NSA said it had “moderate confidence” in that finding.

In addition to stealing and dumping embarrassing emails from the Democratic National Committee and Clinton’s campaign, Russian intelligence officials also used state-funded broadcasts and third-party intermediaries, and paid social media “trolls” to spread false information and disparage Clinton, the report says.”

January 17, 2017 from LA Times (links back to Jan. 6 article) There’s more than the CIA and FBI: The 17 agencies that make up the U.S. intelligence community

“The U.S. intelligence community recently reaffirmed its conclusion that senior officials in Russia were behind hacks during the 2016 presidential campaign into the Democratic National Committee and emails belonging to associates of Hillary Clinton.

But what exactly is the “intelligence community?” It’s not just an amorphous term for all U.S. intelligence officials. It’s a veritable alphabet soup of 17 agencies and offices. The group includes agencies strictly focused on intelligence as well as the intelligence arms of other government agencies and of the military. Its total budget in 2015 was $66.8 billion.

Here are the 17 offices:”

LA Times endorsed Hillary over Trump on Sept. 26 2016 Hillary Clinton would make a sober, smart and pragmatic president. Donald Trump would be a catastrophe.

LA Times endorsed Hillary over Bernie on May 13 2016 For all her faults, Hillary Clinton is vastly better prepared than Bernie Sanders for the presidency

FBI was not allowed to investigate the DNC’s servers when they were told they were “hacked”. Instead, the DNC hired Crowdstrike, a private company, to search their servers and come up with the conclusion that it was the Russians (Fancy Bear) that did it. They have since revised their story.

“U.S. cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike has revised and retracted statements it used to buttress claims of Russian hacking during last year’s American presidential election campaign. The shift followed a VOA report that the company misrepresented data published by an influential British think tank.” VOA March 24 2017

May 8 2017 former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper testifies before congress Full Transcript

“Last year, the intelligence community conducted an exhaustive review of Russian interference into our presidential election process resulting in a special intelligence community assessment or ICA as we call it…

And of course my direct official knowledge of any of this stopped on 20 January when my term of office was happily over…

As you know, the I.C. was a coordinated product from three agencies; CIA, NSA, and the FBI not all 17 components of the intelligence community

The two dozen or so analysts for this task were hand-picked, seasoned experts from each of the contributing agencies…” James Clapper May 8 2017

Clapper also said Obama had given him a directive to come up with this story in “early Dec 2016”

“On December 29th of 2016, the DHS unleashed their “Grizzly Steppe” report (PDF) in an effort to undermine the incoming administration before they could even hit the ground in D.C.

Their intention was to sow doubt in the minds of Americans about the validity of Trump’s victory in November. You have to remember, they had spent a full month trying every trick they could to keep congress from recognizing the results of the election and so on Dec. 19th, when Trump officially became the President Elect, they had to change tactics.

The 11-page report itself was quickly discredited by technology and former intelligence professionals who showed it was devoid of substance and the “hackers” that it claimed to have been trying to interfere with our election, had no verified connection with Russia.

“But now critics say the DHS effort to publish a master list of such IOCs — a DHS/FBI Joint Analysis Report, dubbed Grizzly Steppe — is backfiring, sowing confusion about the hackers’ identities and undermining hard-won trust in the U.S. government as an information-sharing partner.

And several major cybersecurity companies are telling their customers not to use the DHS technical indicators.” Cyber Scoop, Jan. 6 2017

The Grizzly Steppe report was bogus. It was techie gobbly-gook designed to confuse the general public while looking like a smoking gun but in fact, it was nothing more than smoke and mirrors….

The Grizzly Steppe report turned out to be a horrible misstep for the Deep State. But that didn’t stop them from doubling down on their efforts with their Jan. 6th 2017 release of a different report on “Russian interference” which was based in a large part on the pre-existing “intelligence” coming from Grizzly Steppe.” American Everyman June 13 2017

The January 6 2017 report upon which all of this is based, is devoid of any factual evidence that Russia “interfered” with our elections and is mostly based on the conclusions reached in the already discredited Grizzly Steppe report:

“Some analytic judgments are based directly on collected information; others rest on previous judgments, which serve as building blocks in rigorous analysis. In either type of judgment, the tradecraft standards outlined above ensure that analysts have an appropriate basis for the judgment...

The nature of cyberspace makes attribution of cyber operations difficult but not impossible. Every kind of cyber operation — malicious or not — leaves a trail. US Intelligence Community analysts use this information, their constantly growing knowledge base of previous events and known malicious actors, and their knowledge of how these malicious actors work and the tools that they use, to attempt to trace these operations back to their source (or to frame them). In every case, they apply the same tradecraft standards described in the Analytic Process above…

Information available as of 29 December 2016 was used in the preparation of this product (the Grizzly Steppe report released Dec. 29, 2016)

The only thing they added was RT reports that disclosed DNC leaks, Podesta emails and Hillary’s corruption and they claimed Russians were being “trolls” on social media talking about all the news on Hillary’s corruption.

“(RT) consistently cast President – elect Trump as the target of unfair coverage from traditional US media outlets”

“Russian media hailed President – elect Trump’s victory as a vindication of Putin’s advocacy of global populist movements”

“RT’s coverage of Secretary Clinton throughout the US presidential campaign was consistently negative and focused on her leaked e-mails and accused her of corruption, poor physical and mental health, and ties to Islamic extremism”

  1. I have the strong suspicion that all this ranting about Russia, endless idiotic tweets and cries for impeachment are nothing but orchestrated smoke. And I am very concerned with what may be going on beneath the smoke.
