(I have to go over to SS this morning so I’ll be posting this and getting back to the website a little later today)
– Hillary Clinton, dragged out of hiding, demands “public/private action on “fake news epidemic” – Clinton, like Trump and Obama and Bush (etc. etc. etc.) is a pure neoliberal. They simply can’t communicate anymore without trying to normalize some aspect of neoliberal ideology. Yesterday they dragged her out of hiding and propped her up on stage so she could send a message to her fake-left followers about the need to get Google and Facebook and congress (listed in order of importance) to shut down free speech on the internet and the excuse she gave was of course the manufactured crisis of Comet Pizza and the “pizzagate” psyop. Speaking on Capitol Hill she said:
“It’s now clear that so-called ‘fake news’ can have real world consequences…It’s imperative that leaders from the private sector and the public sector step up to protect our democracy and innocent lives,”
Notice the lack of daylight between Big Business and government in this woman’s mind. Google needs to “protect our democracy… and innocent lives”. Google? Defender of freedom? John Galt couldn’t have said it any better. Neither could Mussolini for that matter.
– Donald Trump is creating the most purely fascist cabinet ever installed by a president of this country (maybe not more fascist than any of the puppet dictators we installed in third-world countries over the years, but he’s trying) – “Because I want people that made a fortune! Because now they are negotiating [for] you, OK?” said Donald Trump when asked why he has already assembled the richest cabinet in the history of presidents. Any Trump fan who thinks these greedy, neoliberal assholes are going to be “negotiating for you” needs to grow up. Like Obama fans who refused to see the signs as President Peace Prize padded his cabinet with lobbyists and millionaires and former Bush appointees, Trump fans have had their heads surgically implanted in their rectums if they think their Randian hero represents anything close to anti-establishment “CHANGE”
He even made the CEO of Carl’s Jr. into his Sec. of Labor and if anyone saw that movie “Idiocracy’ the irony is too much to take (brought to you by Carl’s Jr.)
– President Elect Trump refuses to dis-invest himself from his own Big Business even plans to stay on as Executive Producer of his staged “reality” show – Trump has a show on NBC which he says he will continue to work for once he takes office. How many celebrities are going to want to be on his show if the president is the Exec. Producer? Will Trump do the final “you’re fired” scene in the Oval Office with that other neoliberal retard celebrity politician who does the show now? He wont sell off his assets and he wont place his investments in a blind trust (which aren’t really blind anyway). And it appears his son-in-law will end up working in the White House while his daughter is still invested in his business. This sets a terrific precedent for the billionaire class who fully expect to hold every “elected” office in the county by 2024. They couldn’t be happier. Wall Street couldn’t be happier. Carl’s Jr. couldn’t be happier.
Between Clinton’s call for a public/private shut down of the internet and Trump’s installation of what can only be described as his new Executive Branch Board of Directors, neoliberalism (the economic ideology that MOST AMERICANS thought they were voting against this election cycle (Sanders voters and misinformed Trump voters)) like the economic brick dropped on Chile in ’73, is being rammed into D.C. like the Washington Consensus never has before.
In short, we’re being fisted by the invisible hand and all that “trickle down” you’re about to feel ain’t champagne boys and girls.
If you think the sudden move to clamp down on free speech is on behalf of President Peace Prize, you had better think again.
“As I suggested in these pages previously, what we are experiencing is the pathologization (or the “abnormalization”) of political dissent, i.e., the systematic stigmatization of any and all forms of non-compliance with neoliberal consensus reality. Political distinctions like “left” and “right” are disappearing, and are being replaced by imponderable distinctions like “normal” and “abnormal,” “true” and “false,” and “real” and “fake.” Such distinctions do not lend themselves to argument. They are proffered to us as axiomatic truths, empirical facts which no normal person would ever dream of contradicting. In place of competing political philosophies, the neoliberal intelligentsia is substituting a simpler choice, “normality” or “abnormality.” CJ Hopkins, CounterPunch
Mr. Hopkins seems to get it. Though he does underestimate Trump’s ability to bend as the winds of neoliberalism blow his way. Hopkins seems to believe Trump will be falsely painted as the Manchurian Candidate as Trump himself nominates one neoliberal billionaire John Galt after another while simultaneously running his diminished expectations tour, trying to prepare his fan-base for the betrayals of the future.
Jill Stein’s campaign to push the recounts in three key states past the “safe harbor” deadline is still continuing with the courts providing ample pretext for the delays. Come Dec. 13th we are going to see something rather special develop over here in the land of the Big PX.
Maybe from now on we wont even bother with holding elections. At first the millionaires and billionaires who represent Big Business in America from the House of Representative will just get together and select a new CEO for America™
Or you know what? Maybe they’ll just skip the pretense and the middle man and let Chamber of Commerce pick our next glorious leader kind of like the Catholics pick a new Pope. When the black smoke turns white, the deal is done and Bill Gates or Oprah or one of the Walton clan is the next Commercer in Chief.
It’s going to be an interesting couple of weeks boys and girls. As Trump and his family of vapid silver-spooners try to position their sugar daddy as the end-all-be-all of neoliberal presidents before what appears to be an inevitable vote in congress and Hillary runs around looking like death warmed over pleading for Google to save the children, they are already offering up “fake news” killing proposals in congress and the glorious public/private corporations are starting the grand scrubbing of the interwebs… for “democracy and such”
I wonder how many generals Trump can stick in his cabinet before folks start talking openly about Pinochet, Suharto and Mubarak. Of course, Trump wont have to worry about that too much if Killary and the fake progressives can kill off all those “fake news” websites before that happens.
Anybody seeing a pattern developing here? Anybody?
Yeah, it will be an interesting couple of weeks, that’s for sure.
