US preparing for invasion of Yemen’s western coast: Houthi

from Press TV

The leader of Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement has warned that the US military is preparing the ground for an act of aggression against the war-torn Arab country.

In a televised speech on Thursday, Abdul Malik Badreddin al-Houthi slammed Washington’s recent missile attacks against three mobile radar sites on Yemen’s Red Sea coast, saying the nation and armed forces should stay vigilant and stand fully ready to face the invaders.

“The US is after laying the groundwork for making an invasive move against [western coastal] Hudaydah Province,” the statement said, adding, “Through this measure, the US is after building up pressure on and harassing the people of Yemen.”

“The Yemeni nation will defend its territory, freedom and independence, seeing it as its right to use any legitimate means against violent invasions,” the Houthi leader said.

  1. The Empire is desperate. The Saudi bombing campaign has not stopped the rebels. Meanwhile everyone sees the hypocrisy of the USA helping to bomb civilians in Yemen, while the USA condemns the Russians in Syria.

The Houthis have been fighting a civil war against the Saudi-backed government in Sanaa for eleven years. They want an end to discrimination, marginalization, and economic disenfranchisement. They want an end to the forcible conversion of ever-larger parts of Yemeni society to Saudi-style Wahhabism. In 2013 they took over Sanaa, and ran out the Saudi puppet government. Between September 2014 and March 2015, two-thirds of the Yemeni army either sided with the Houthis,  or were overrun by the Houthis. That’s when the Empire started bombing.

NOTE: In Yemen the rebels include the Houthis, plus most of the Yemeni military, which itself consists of 400,000 personnel.

In Aug 2015 (five months into the bombing) the Saudis sent in an expeditionary force of around 40,000 Bahraini, Emirati, Sudanese and other troops into Yemen. They were stopped by 266,000 Yemeni troops that had been hardened by years of bitter civil war.

Yes, the Empire is desperate. The aerial attack on that funeral hall cannot be whitewashed. The Houthis and the Yemeni army fight to the death, since they see their enemy as a Saudi-Israeli-US-UK alliance of evil. Hence the USA has now joined the bombing.

With Hillary in the White House, there may be a U.S. invasion of Yemen, once again to stop “ISIS.”™
