Why is Turkey’s Erdogan being demonised in the West? (and by the so-called “alternative” media)

(Though she doesn’t get into the nitty-gritty detail of the deep-state politics going on in the Middle East right now in relation to the move to force regime change on Turkey, Soumaya does a good job of explaining how we only seem to support real dictators in the area while demonizing elected leaders trying to make their nations more democratic. It’s a good article.)

Many masks have slipped since Turkey’s failed military coup last Friday, such that a great many on the right and the left alike, who never tire of eulogising about democracy and human rights, the masses, and people power have been exposed as little more than pseudo liberals and fake democrats.

Ironically, the same western “experts”, “analysts” and “commentators”, who had in the last Turkish elections gleefully predicted the overthrow of the AKP but were sorely disappointed after its victory, have committed an even more colossal error of judgment this time round.

Instead of expressing a clear principled stance against military coups and in favour of democracy and the popular will, they chose to side with the putschists as they bombed the Turkish parliament with F16s and gunned down peaceful protesters.

They cheerfully sought justification for the plot to topple a democratically elected government when it was under way, heaping scorn on the elected president instead of the generals and soldiers who conspired to overthrow him.

And when the coup was defeated, against all the odds, the tune turned to lamentations over democracy and its terrible plight under “arrogant” and “authoritarian” Erdogan and gloomy warnings of an inevitable slide to repression and tyranny.

A Sunday Times commentator even rebuked the coup plotters, which he referred to using such lofty descriptions as “the guardians of secularism” and “a force for progress”, even as “Modernity” itself, for staging its coup in July when “everyone is soporific with the heat”, suggesting that September would have yielded the desired outcome.

The same symphony of exoneration of the coup plotters and demonisation of Erdogan was played by left-wing media. Hours after the coup’s launch, the liberal, left-leaning Guardian ran a piece that bore the surreal title “Turkey was already undergoing a slow-motion coup – by Erdogan, not the army”.

  1. almost every article i read on the coup referred to the turkish military as “defenders of secularism”. i’m glad someone else noticed it, too.

those same articles used rather negative language when referring to erdogan, while pushing the same propaganda as those involved in the coup — that they were seeking “to restore/preserve democracy”, blah blah blah. any support expressed for erdogan & democracy by the msm was tentative at best.

  2. The scum who rule us always divide and conquer, divide and rule. Always.

In Turkey the scum who rule the world are playing BOTH sides.
They support Erdogan and they support the opposition. Since the coup (fake, real or tipped off by Russia) there has been a crackdown on educators, police, media and civil service involving THOUSANDS of arrests. This brutal purge of so called enemies by Erdogan is not fair, honest or humane. It is the brutal stuff of puppet dictators. Anyone asking us to chose sides is clueless or dishonest.
It is like Trump or Hilary, scum either way, servants of the NWO either way. Turkey is being destroyed by NATO/USA and Erdogan is only one half of the controlled chaos.

The USA has played blacks against whites for hundreds of years and is doing so today. England played catholic and protestant off in Ireland. The USA played both Shia and Sunni in Iraq, French vs English in Canada, Native vs. white all over North and South America.
All of these conflicts are fueled by our controllers. They always want us to chose sides.

Choose peace and truth, and stop supporting all war mongering pigs by choosing sides in their scripted conflicts.
Erdogan is a puppet of the pigs and he is as evil as Trump or Hillary, or Bush or Obama or Hollande, or Trudeau……………..

  3. Stupid. Erdogan and his AKP has nothing to do with Democracy.
He puts in corruption and has supported terrorist organizations IS, because of his religios fanatizm.

Therefore, he will and can not go and commit crimes in which he breaks down the rule of law and arrested other thinking People.

He builds a dictatorship and you write here of democracy?
How stupid do you think we are ??????

The people in Turkey are polarized and do not trust him. Some want to die for Him and they are thinking he is God. (no joke)

He is demonised in the World because he behave like a demon. DOT.
