Neocon Michael Rubin (pen name Peter Korzun?) Openly Calls for Military Coup in Turkey

by Scott Creighton

All those so-called “alternative” journalists out there who have been steadily regurgitating the anti-Erdogan rhetoric of this latest neoliberal regime change operation in the Middle East (and I am talking to you Lizzie Phelan and Steve Lendman) should take note: this is what you are supporting.

Yesterday Peter Korzun of the Strategic Culture Foundation posted an article in which he clearly calls for the military of Turkey to stage a coup in order to take control away from the elected government of the country and specifically, Recep Erdogan, because he is a “sultan”

In order to make his point on a so-called “progressive” “anti-war” and “anti-imperialism” website, Korzun chooses some rather suspect “experts” to help him make his case:

Michael Rubin, a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute and a former Pentagon officialpredicts an imminent military coup in Turkey. According to the expert, «Turks – and the Turkish military – increasingly recognize that Erdogan is taking Turkey to the precipice». Rubin believes that «he [Erdogan] has taken Turkey down a path in which there is no chance of victory and a high chance of de facto partition». According to him, «If the Turkish military moves to oust Erdogan and place his inner circle behind bars, could they get away with it? In the realm of analysis rather than advocacy, the answer is yes». Rubin writes, it is doubtful that the Obama administration would do more than castigate any coup leaders, especially if they immediately laid out a clear path to the restoration of democracy. Neither Turkey nor Greece lost their NATO membership after coups.

The Turkish military has long seen itself as the «guardian of Turkish democracy», which it defines as the staunchly secular state created by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the modern Turkish republic..” Peter Korzun

Yes, that is the same neocon Michael Rubin of the Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld days being quoted as a source by the “anti-imperialist” Peter Korzun in his article calling for an undemocratic military coup in Turkey.

Between 2004 and 2009, he was editor of the Middle East Quarterly. He has received fellowships from the Council on Foreign Relations,[3] and the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs.

Rubin has lectured in history at Yale University, Hebrew University, Johns Hopkins University, and worked as visiting lecturer at Universities of Sulaymaniyah, Salahuddin, and Duhok, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Between 2002 and 2004, Rubin worked as a country director for Iran and Iraq in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, from which he was seconded to the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq.[4]

And yes, a military coup in Turkey to get rid of the elected government and Recep Erdogan is exactly what Peter Korzun is calling for.

Was Pilot of Egyptair Flight MS804 “Beaming” When He Suddenly Turned 90 Deg Left?

by Scott Creighton

We don’t know much about what happened to Egyptair Flight MS804 except for the fact that it is gone and authorities still don’t know why.

Earlier I posted information about a naval exercises drill taking place in the exact location where Flight MS804 suddenly went off radar.

Later yesterday, Greek authorities released a little more detail about what happened with the plane’s recorded flight path. It seems they turned suddenly 90 degrees to the left then turned hard to the right 360 degrees while descending at a very rapid rate until they dropped off radar coverage.

Here is a graphic showing what was reported by Greek authorities.

I hypothesized that the pilot may have been trying to avoid an approaching missile and that would explain why such drastic maneuvers were made.

This morning I decided to see if there was any technique that might resemble these last actions of the pilot and the plane. This is what I found:

“If the missile is closer, you will have to narrow the energy gap using geometry. Remember that the missile is flying a lead-pursuit course. It’s always going to point out towards where it thinks you will be at the time of impact. If you beam the missile (turn 90° towards its heading) and accelerate to a high speed, it’s going to point very far to the left or right of your location — especially if it is still far away. Make a 180° turn to beam in the opposite direction, and the missile will have to drag itself all the way around to point in the other direction. This maneuver uses up valuable energy that could otherwise be spent gliding a longer distance.

By performing this beam reverse maneuver, you force the missile to bleed as much energy as possible turning left and right to maintain its proportional navigation course.

Beaming the missile also increases the chance that the missile’s radar will drop lock, due to the Doppler notchQuora.com

In this case, after being locked on by an air-to-air missile, the pilot would attempt to break lock by turning into the oncoming missile which forces it to correct it’s path, moving hard left or right in order to regain lock on the flight path ahead of the target. Then the pilot (if I understand this correctly) turns abruptly once again, in the opposite direction, 180 degrees in an attempt to break the missile lock and force it to use as much fuel as possible to reacquire and close on the plane due to Doppler Notch.

Egyptair Flight MS804: Fake Fireball Video Used to Discredit Eyewitness Reports

by Scott Creighton

Early into the investigation of what happened 33 hours ago to Egyptair Flight MS804, reports came out from a variety of sources that folks saw something burning in the skies above the Mediterranean Sea right about the time the commercial flight went off the radar with 66 people on board.

The most prominent of these stories came from the captain of a merchant ship. But there were others.

“The AFP news agency reports confirmation from a Greek aviation source that the EgyptAir plane crashed off the island of Karpathos. The captain of a merchant ship in the area had reported seeing a ‘flame’ in the sky and marine traffic monitors showed civilian vessels joining a search in the area.” Guardian

This eyewitness testimony seems to fit the current prescribed narrative from the complicit media that either it was an act of terrorism that brought down the plane or a catastrophic mechanical failure of some kind. It also just happens to fit with my personal theory that the plane was brought down by accident during the ongoing naval drills taking place in that very part of the Mediterranean Sea, Phoenix Express 2016.

However, slowly but surely this eyewitness testimony (like the eyewitness testimony involved with the Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 downing and the TWA Flight 800 tragedy) has been scrubbed from the news cycle completely.

“A recent Flight MH370 news report from The Daily Mail indicated a certain Mike McKay who stands by his claims that he had seen first-hand the “burning wreckage” of the airline crashing into the South China Sea, last year.

“Almost a year has passed, but I stand by what I saw,” the 57-year-old said. “I’ve thought about it and thought about it, over and over and while I cannot say for certain that the burning object in the sky was definitely MH370, the timing fits in with when the Malaysian plane lost contact.”

McKay went on to say that he emailed authorities about what he saw. The action resulted him getting fired from the Songa Mercur oil rig that he had worked at for 30 years. Christian Post

We saw what appeared to be a flare going straight up. As a matter of fact, we thought it was from a boat. It was a bright reddish-orange color. Once it went into flames I knew that it wasn’t a flare.”
Lou Desyron, Flight 800 eye-witness; ABC World News Sunday; 07/21/96.

The reason the media gives for discrediting these new eyewitness’s testimony, and I heard this yesterday, was that what so many people reported seeing was actually a Russian satellite burning as it re-entered earth’s atmosphere, and not Flight MS804 burning as it crashed. I heard that several times yesterday on CNN and MSNBC.

Then I heard, later last night, the talking heads and various “experts” saying they didn’t think the plane broke up in the sky because “no one in the area saw it burning”

Wow. Talk about spin. Obviously, there is a major logical fallacy at play here.
