Obama Uses “American Exceptionalism” Myth to Plead for Cheney’s Unitary Executive Theory

UPDATE: Why Does the FBI Have to Manufacture its Own Plots if Terrorism and ISIS Are Such Grave Threats?

“let’s make sure we never forget what makes us exceptional”

Last night our president, Barack Obama, the president of “CHANGE”, went before the nation to plead his case for endless war, more unconventional warfare by means of terrorism and the stripping of US citizen’s rights by the arbitrary means of simply adding their names to the MASSIVE and growing “no fly” list.

And as the basis of all of this, Obama said we can and should do these things, because we’re just so damn exceptional.

“My fellow Americans, I am confident we will succeed in this mission because we are on the right side of history. We were founded upon a belief in human dignity — that no matter who you are, or where you come from, or what you look like, or what religion you practice, you are equal in the eyes of God and equal in the eyes of the law.”

Does anyone here feel we are on the right side of history after the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq? How about Afghanistan, Libya, Ukraine, Vietnam, Nigeria or Sudan? How about Venezuela, Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina or Chile in 1973?

We were founded by slave owners who didn’t want women or poor people to vote. We were founded on a nation we took from the indigenous population we had to slaughter to get out of the way just like Israel is now doing in Palestine.

And what about Obama’s precious and beloved drones? They kill one suspect to 20 or so innocent civilians. They target weddings and funerals. He has order the murder of several US citizens without any due process at all.

Do you think for a minute people in this country are equal in the eyes of the law? Do practitioners of the law even think that anymore?

And just how does that “human dignity” thing hold up against the ever popular rush to implement brutal austerity measures designed to force people to accept starvation wages or face literal starvation?

Are cops not killing people in record numbers? Do we not have 2 million people in prisons? Are those prisons not being turned into for-profit ventures taking advantage of slave wages?

Did the banks not just destroy the economy so they could rise to power and profit from the demise of every single US citizen?

And are we not posed on the precipice of the most fascist “trade” deals in the history of mankind that seek to undermine the very foundations and laws this country is built on?

But we’re the shining city on the hill, right?

It is fitting that Obama’s last ditch effort to push endless war, the long war, the 100 years war using the sophomoric rhetoric you would expect to hear coming from the mouth of Dick Cheney or George H. W. Bush.

It is fitting that the last straw of propaganda he pulls from his little bag of tricks would be an appeal to blind nationalism such as tarnished the myth of American Exceptionalism.

Does anyone here not know that David Cameron just did this exact same thing over in the UK, pleading for authorization to start bombing ISIS™ in Syria so he can spend billions with his buddies rebuilding the civilian infrastructure they intend to destroy?

Does anyone here not know the United States in already in the process of building a military base in Northern Syria so they can better facilitate the creation of Greater Kurdistan?

And we are supposed to be naive enough to think Obama’s neocon-inspired sales pitch is simply a reaction to this latest American Gladio event in San Bernardino? An event which is only linked to the fictitious ISIS™ by way of a Facebook spokesman and some comment left in someone else’s name?

Are we really supposed to be that stupid?

In his speech last night, Barack Obama laid out a number of policy agendas he is currently pursuing. The most important of these is his desire to get a shiny new authorization for the use of military force since the one he has been using is outdated and doesn’t legally cover his bombings in Syria and other locations across the globe.

“Finally, if Congress believes, as I do, that we are at war with ISIL, it should go ahead and vote to authorize the continued use of military force against these terrorists”

We are not at war with ISIS™. There have been a number of fake videos posted by advocates of the Endless War of Terrorism seeking to manufacture public consent for more endless wars of terrorism directed anywhere and everywhere our imperialist agenda comes up against indigenous resistance.

Those videos are public service messages, not declarations of war. They are slick ad campaigns, designed like any other sales pitch to inspire an emotional connection between the audience and the desired policy agenda. They are nothing more than that.

We are fighting against the Houthis in Yemen, now supposedly aligned with ISIS™.

We are fighting the General Military Council for Iraqi Revolutionaries who simply want to be rid of the puppet neoliberal regime we set up in their country after the illegal invasion and occupation. They are what we call ISIS™ in that country.

ISIL fighters were part of the insurgency that we faced in Iraq.”

On behalf of the brutal dictator al-Sisi in Egypt, we are helping fight the rising insurgency of the people of Sinai who are sick and tired of living under one US-backed dictator after another.

In Libya, we now have an ISIS™ presence since the opposition party won an election kicking our last puppet to the curb, or back to Benghazi.

And if one goes by what the US, Britain and France targets in Syria, ISIS™ is any legitimate civilian or government infrastructure they can target which will hasten a speedier regime change in the country.

That is what ISIS™ is folks and that is why President Obama says we need an open-ended definition of where he can send his precious drones to kill and maim.

“First, our military will continue to hunt down terrorist plotters in any country where it is necessary.”

All it takes to create an ISIS™ affiliate anywhere in the world (and that includes the US mind you) is a studio, a failed film director and the ever present unquestioning minds of the MSM and their “journalist” ladder climbers looking to get their foot in the door and make a name for themselves.

The president of the Peace Prize is begging for the equivalent of a war-time blank check. Congress has been reluctant to provide him with that. Now that they have San Bernardino, I wonder if their resolve with hold up.

Obama is also campaigning for more Special Operations irregular warfare operations. That is where they train mercenaries to wage acts of terrorism in destabilization campaigns in order to force regime change on elected governments that aren’t particularly friendly toward our offers of “freedom and democracy” through IMF loans and brutal austerity measures.

The Contras. Al Qaeda. There are literally scores of examples though out history of these types of mercenaries being used to terrorize the local populations until chaos rules the day and we can impose our selected leadership and economic agenda on their countries.

Currently, the “moderate” terrorists in Syria serve as a better example but you could also reference the neo-Nazis in Ukraine and the “rebels” in Libya if you like.

“Second, we will continue to provide training and equipment to tens of thousands of Iraqi and Syrian forces fighting ISIL on the ground so that we take away their safe havens.”

Isn’t it ironic that the fake liberal president begs for more money to fund terrorism by saying we need it ” because we are on the right side of history. We were founded upon a belief in human dignity

In the end, President Obama is just as much a puppet as Maliki was, as Mubarak was or as Suharto was (whom his mother worked for in Indonesia) and as such, it seems right that they would have him end with a call to go after their main nemesis here in the states: the constitution.

“To begin with, Congress should act to make sure no one on a no-fly list is able to buy a gun. What could possibly be the argument for allowing a terrorist suspect to buy a semi-automatic weapon? This is a matter of national security.”

The argument, ladies and gentlemen, is very simple: it must take more than being added to some arbitrary list to separate a US citizen from their constitutional rights.

Currently there are about 47,000 names on the no-fly list. Prior to 9/11, the first major false flag event here in this country, there were 16.

There have been a number of notable cases where people have been detained or prevented access to travel due to them either being placed on the no-fly list mistakenly, or their names being similar to someone else who was on it.

But most tellingly of all is the truth behind the no-fly list:

In November 2002 Salon reported that the No-Fly program seemed “to be netting mostly priests, elderly nuns, Green Party campaign operatives, left-wing journalists, right-wing activists and people affiliated with Arab or Arab-American groups.” Art dealer Doug Stuber, who ran Ralph Nader’s Green Party presidential campaign in North Carolina in 2000, was prevented from flying to Europe on business in October 2002. He was repeatedly pulled out of line, held for questioning until his flight left, then told falsely he could take a later flight or depart from a different airport. Barbara Olshansky, then Assistant Legal Director for the Center for Constitutional Rights, noted that she and several of her colleagues received special attention on numerous occasions. On at least one occasion, she was ordered to pull her trousers down in view of other passengers.[59]

Among the complaints about the No Fly List is the use of credit reports in calculating the risk score. In response to the controversy, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials said in 2005 that they would not use credit scores to determine passengers’ risk score and that they would comply with all rights guaranteed by the First and Fourth Amendments.[74]

The No Fly List has been variously described as Orwellian and Kafkaesque. Individuals usually do not know they have been put on the list until they attempt to board a plane. Efforts to discover the reasons for being barred from flying meet with indeterminate responses from the authorities, which would neither confirm nor deny that a name is on the List

You can’t expect your president to tell you, but I will: the no-fly list has nothing to do with terrorism. It has to do with control. It is a secretive black-listing of the kinds of people the government, for whatever reason, does not approve of.

And to use this arbitrary list, this secretive, completely subjective list to deny anyone in this country their constitutional rights without due process or even a process of appeal, is a travesty.

To ask it be done makes a mockery of the constitution and every single soldier, activist or writer who has ever suffered to protect it just as it also makes a mockery of everyone who has ever sworn to uphold it. Just as it does the president’s own oath of office.

In order to show how this call to action is an ongoing domestic policy agenda, take the recent New York Times op-ed that they took the unusual step of publishing on their front page (something they haven’t done since 1920 I believe):

It is not necessary to debate the peculiar wording of the Second Amendment. No right is unlimited and immune from reasonable regulation.

Certain kinds of weapons, like the slightly modified combat rifles used in California, and certain kinds of ammunition, must be outlawed for civilian ownership. It is possible to define those guns in a clear and effective way and, yes, it would require Americans who own those kinds of weapons to give them up for the good of their fellow citizens.” New York Times

Some look at the war on guns as an end unto itself. It simply is not.

Sure, they wish to keep certain people from being able to protect themselves. But that is not the end game.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is the war on the constitution, the legal foundation of this republic which just happens to be the last stumbling block for their new fascist world order to be usher in by the TPP and the TTIP.

If you look slightly behind the vapid, Cheneyesque rhetoric of our current “progressive” president, what you find is a thinly veiled call for regressive, fascist authoritative overreach… something akin to Cheney’s unitary executive theory. If you do a little background research, you can’t miss it.

From signing statements usurping the letter of the law directed by congress, to arbitrary detentions, illegal drone assassination programs, to the expansion of the executive branch’s authority to wage endless wars of aggression anywhere in the world and to the ability of the executive branch of government to deny constitutional rights to any citizen at any time, what you have is the embodiment of Dick Cheney’s unitary executive theory being fashioned under the “progressive” presidency of Barack Obama.

So in many substantial ways, if given what he has asked for, the power of the president will be ” unilateral, and unchecked” and that is the essence of Cheney’s theory.

Since the office of the president and it’s powers/limitations are clearly defined by the constitution, this is just one more assault on that document in the ongoing effort to remake this nation and turn it from a constitutional republic into a 3rd world dictatorship.

That is what I came away with after watching President Obama’s address to the nation last night.  Over the years we have witnessed one continuation after another of President Bush’s illegal policies and here we have yet another. It was only a matter of time before the great reveal. Reagan couldn’t have done it any better.

American exceptionalism to the unitary executive. There’s your “CHANGE” folks. “HOPE” you like it.

Just keep in mind all you “progressives” out there… it’s either going to be Trump or Bush running the show in a couple of months. These are the rules or lack thereof, you’re setting in place for them.

Sweet dreams.

  1. Oh no! You’re not being “radicalized” by the internet. Now you’re “radicalizing” the internet! Make sure to periodically remind your readership that you are never depressed. In case of any eventualities, everyone needs to have it fresh in your mind that you have and never will have any intention of hanging yourself in your closet.

    • I love the name by the way.

No. I have no intention of going out like Aaron did, thank you. Of course, he didn’t either.😦 and I do appreciate the comparison, though I certainly don’t feel it’s justified. He posed a much greater risk to their objectives than I ever could. thanks just the same.

    • Even for sarcasm, I find this to be very poor choice of words. Mr. Stu.

      (it was sarcasm, yes?)

  2. Another great report Scott.

  3. What a fine, obedient puppet … I can’t wait to see what he’ll be doing in “retirement”.

Well, you’d think that a BLACK president would recall hearing something in history class about America actually being founded on the annihilation of the indigenous peoples and SLAVERY. That’s what America was founded on. You’d think that he’d remember that people who came from Africa, and who looked like him, were not equal in the eyes of anyone until… well, not yet (perhaps he thinks they came over on the back of a big Green Card lottery surge in the old continent). Then there were the Chinese coolies, the unwanted Irish and their dogs, those clever Poles, the interned Japanese, the Mexicans… oh, and any foreigner in a foreign land who doesn’t speak English as his mother tongue.

Where do they get this fantastical, hypocritical shit from? No American should ever mention history when trying to look good. Just avoid the subject. Whenever it comes up, try to divert the conversation to the British Empire.

  5. “The Plutonium Files: America’s Secret Medical Experiments in the Cold War is a 1999 book by Eileen Welsome. It is a history of United States government-engineered radiation experiments on unwitting Americans, based on the Pulitzer Prize–winning series Welsome wrote for The Albuquerque Tribune.[1][2]

The experiments began in 1945, when Manhattan Project scientists were preparing to detonate the first atomic bomb. Radiation was known to be dangerous and the experiments were designed to ascertain the detailed effect of radiation on human health. Most of the subjects, Welsome says, were poor, powerless, and sick.[3]

From 1945 to 1947, 18 people were injected with plutonium by Manhattan project doctors.” – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Plutonium_Files

“Numerous human radiation experiments have been performed in the United States, many of which were funded by various U.S. government agencies[3] such as the United States Department of Defense and the United States Atomic Energy Commission. Experiments included, but were not limited to:

feeding radioactive material to mentally disabled children[4]
exposing U.S. soldiers and prisoners to high levels of radiation[4]
irradiating the testicles of prisoners, which caused severe birth defects[4]
exhuming bodies from graveyards to test them for radiation (without the consent of the families of the deceased)[5]” – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_radiation_experiments#Experiments_performed_in_the_United_States

  6. Latest from news For Yahoos…

FBI: Killers had been radicalized ‘for quite some time’

“We have learned and believe that both subjects were radicalized and have been for quite some time,” said David Bowdich, chief of the FBI’s Los Angeles office.

He added: “The question we’re trying to get at is how did that happen and by whom and where did that happen? And I will tell you right now we don’t know those answers.”
    http://news.yahoo.com/investigators-wife-may-driving-force-211741605.html

…or WHEN it happened, obviously. We have just “learned AND believe” that it was quite some time ago.

—-So, how do you know that it ever happened, Chief Bowditch?

Because I’m your mother and I say so, that’s wh… I mean, because we’re the FBI, that’s how.

  7. One of the most important reasons AE is a daily read for me is that you have a gift for sumarizing seemingly disparate events and showing the thread that separates madness from method. You make it look easy, but you don’t fool me. This is an exceptional effort and ability to research, cull and organize information into highly credible scenarios. The Ministry of Propaganda wants us to believe that everything happening is just chaos….out of control, crazy world actors, misbehaving in our black and white morality play, and not hired pawns meticulously guided to well-scripted and choreographed results, where the same people win (“Them’s that got”) and the same people lose (Them’s that not”). Without seeing the pernicious and underlying (and I do mean “lying”) design of this bedlam, it would suck the soul dry. And that is, of course, is the end game of the “policy makers.” On a sad note, another great soldier of truth, Dave McGowen with an olympic bullshitometer and fine writing chops, just left us after long battle with cancer.
