The Center for American Progress (owner of ThinkProgress) Invites Netanyahu to Speak

by Scott Creighton

The problem with Israel’s PR these days is that progressive minded people on the left and the right tend to frown on folks who blow-up 500 children in order to steal some land and threaten to ship Palestinians out of East Jerusalem in cattle cars (“cattle cars” is a bit of a dramatic reference… they probably wont use cattle cars… but you get the point)

The fate of over 370,000 East Jerusalemites hangs in the balance. Netanyahu’s proposed scheme sounds ominously like Hitler loading Jews on trains for death camps. Steve Lendman

Heck, anyone can get the Pam Gellers of the world and her fans to go for that.. but the Bernie Sanders crowd? That takes a little more work (sadly, not much apparently for Bernie Sanders himself though)

To that end, AIPAC and the One State Solution of Israel have supposedly “lobbied” the folks over at the Center for American Progress (CAP) to allow their rabid, Arab-hating spokesman Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to come over to their Bat Cave command center to give a little chat on November 10th of this year.

As part of the tour, the Israeli government pushed hard for an invite to the Center for American Progress and landed an event at the progressive institution on Nov. 10, the day after Netanyahu has a scheduled meeting with Obama. The embassy’s push for the invite, sources familiar with the lobbying said, was joined by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, which also applied pressure to CAP to allow Netanyahu to speak. CAP positions itself as a “progressive” think-tank. It’s main purpose is to serve the interests of the Clintonistas of this country.

It’s founder, John Podesta, was once chief of staff to both Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and currently heads up the Hillary Clinton campaign.

CAP also runs a “progressive” website called ThinkProgress which is nothing more than a centrist-Dem echo chamber which used to make sure they deleted comments questioning things like 9/11 and Israel’s barbaric treatment of Palestinians (I know that for a first-hand fact)

The role ThinkProgress serves is two-fold: 1. promote centrist, Business First ideas to the young dems in this country and 2. work as a focus group for the Center for American Progress, keeping them in touch and up to date on the ideas and mood of the young, left-leaning voters.

To that end it makes perfect sense for Bibi The Blood-soaked Troll to rush over here from the Promised Land to try to convince the spin doctors at CAP to help him re-brand Israel’s tarnished image.

I wonder if that means ThinkProgress will start erasing comments on their site which mention the BDS movement in a positive light. I wonder if they already do.

Considering the fact that 20,000 Israelis just sued Facebook to make them censor pro-Palestinian posts and to ban actual Palestinian Facebook users in the lead-up to Bibi’s ethnic cleansing of East Jerusalem, I guess it also makes sense for them to attempt to set the parameters of discourse over at the controlled opposition think-tank CAP.  Call it preemptive propaganda.

What does Netanyahu have in mind – greater ruthlessness and mass murder than already? For sure with full US support for whatever he does, no matter how outrageous! Steve Lendman

Why am I suddenly reminded of “Something Wicked This Way Comes”?
