See my Whitehouse.gov petition below to call for an end to the illegal regime change operation in Syria
Russia’s actions in Syria have exposed President Obama’s illegal regime change operation in Syria in such a stark fashion everyone is kind of numbed by it all. Not only that, but the fact is, the Obama administration doesn’t even have congressional authority to be waging a war against “ISIS” and that is too say nothing of his lack of a mandate from the UN Security Council.
We are well into the second year of Barack Obama’s supposed “war against ISIS” and yet, the Obama administration still lacks an official authorization for the use of military forces in that fight.
“Congress is clearly divided. Many Democrats and some Republicans fear a fresh AUMF would lead to wider and more extensive military involvement, including a big build-up in ground troops. But many Republicans, and some Democrats, fear an AUMF would be too limited — tying the president’s hands in the fight against a significant new enemy.” NPR July 2015
In February of this year, the president’s office sent a letter to congress seeking a new authorization for the use of military forces so they could take a more active role in the fight against our construct, “ISIS”
There was absolutely no mention of forcing the legitimate government of Syria from office as a pretext to defeating “ISIS” in that letter.
Congress did not act on the request and ever since then, Obama has relied on the AUMF 2001 for his legal standing in this conflict.
If you go to the Defense Department’s webpage on Operation Inherent Resolve, you will notice there is again, no mention of the president authorizing the use of force to bring about a regime change in Syria. Nor, is there any mention of congressional authority for the mission. You will notice they list 196 “oil infrastructure” targets having been damaged or destroyed by our airstrikes along with 3,680 “other targets” (presumably civilian infrastructure)
Obama’s claim is that since “ISIS” made a bunch of fake beheading videos, he has the authority to attack them in order to defend US citizens. Like the videos themselves, his argument is transparent and spurious at best.
Without authority from either the US congress or even the UN Security Council, like George W Bush’s attack on Iraq back in 2003, President Obama’s bombing campaigns in Syria are illegal under federal and international law. The fact that this has been going on for 14 months now without so much as a peep from the anti-war movements in the US (such as they are) shows the power of a “left cover” president.
Russia’s recent targeting of terrorist camps in Syria at the request of the legitimate government of that country lays bare another aspect of this illegal war and that is the CIA’s clandestine regime change operation using gangs of foreign military assets waging a destabilization campaign in the country.
Much is being made here in the US that Russia isn’t targeting “ISIS” but instead, it is being reported, they are attacking “moderate rebels” who are engaged in the fight with the elected government of Syria. Unfortunately for the complicit corporatist media, they also have to admit another little caveat of information in order to attempt to get the average US citizen to care about this new development: these terrorists are in fact, CIA assets.
Russia launched airstrikes in Syria on Wednesday, catching U.S. and Western officials off guard and drawing new condemnation as evidence suggested Moscow wasn’t targeting extremist group Islamic State, but rather other opponents of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
One of the airstrikes hit an area primarily held by rebels backed by the Central Intelligence Agency and allied spy services, U.S. officials said, catapulting the Syrian crisis to a new level of danger and uncertainty. Wall Street Journal
Russian aircraft carried out a bombing attack against Syrian opposition fighters on Wednesday, including at least one group trained by the C.I.A., eliciting angry protests from American officials and plunging the complex sectarian war there into dangerous new territory. New York Times
Russia was brought in to help the Syrian government and her people defend themselves from a terrorist destabilization campaign which has been waged in Syria for the past 5 years. What is happening there is not a civil war, nor is it a “revolution’. These “rebels” as they have been called are nothing more than Wahhabist terrorists brought in from outside the country in order to create chaos and terror amid the civilian populations of certain areas in the hopes that they can create “lawless zones” where the US can claim there is no legitimate government and then occupy the regions for their own interests.
This is the kind of covert dirty war the CIA has been running across the globe since it’s inception. Not only is it highly immoral and a despicable representation of the US throughout the rest of the world, it is illegal for such acts to be committed by the CIA operating on their own initiative.
No, ladies and gentlemen, even as far as we have sunk over the past few decades, it’s still not legal for the CIA to hire, train and equip terrorists to target civilian populations on behalf of US ‘national interests’
That’s why they had to traffic narcotics in the past to fund these black ops. That’s why they had to cut deals arming our enemies like Iran to fund them as well.
Russia minces no words when it comes to explaining what they are doing in Syria. They are there to assist the only legitimate military presence in the country with their fight against terrorism. US media likes to infer that means “ISIS” because, according to them, they are the only terrorists in Syria. But Russia and more importantly, Syrian officials, make it clear that our CIA backed and created “moderate rebels” are just as much a terrorist force in the country as “ISIS” is.
Russia coordinates the targets of its attacks against terrorists in Syria with the armed forces of that country, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has told TASS.
He recalled that Moscow would be providing support for the Syrian army in the struggle against the outlawed terrorist group Islamic State and other terrorist and extremist groups. ITAR-Tass
President Bashar al-Assad and the Syrian state’s request of support from Federal Russia in combating terrorism flowing from all countries in the world, was logical and logical in its timing, since the US has been talking about an alliance against terrorism for months ago, but the US-led alliance had proven to be ineffective on the ground, Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban affirmed.
In an interview with Russia Today TV Channel on Wednesday, Shaaban added that the Russian vision carries a deep understanding of what is happening in Syria and the region, and that the terror poses a threat against the whole world, calling on everyone to listen to what Russian President Vladimir Putin is saying about Syria and the region. SANA News Agency
For years, independent alternative journalists such as myself and many others have been reporting that the so-called “civil war” in Syria was nothing of the sort. It was from the beginning, a color revolution and then a terrorist destabilization campaign, once the architects of the “revolution” discovered they couldn’t gain any traction with that approach to their regime change plans.
Russia’s targeting of these “rebel controlled” areas lays bare the lie that is the “civil war” in Syria. These are our mercenaries in Syria, foreign mercenaries, brought in by the CIA to kill and terrorize Syrian civilians.
Take a look at this somewhat outdated Syrian conflict map. Notice the hotspots around Homs to the north. That is where the first Russian airstrikes took place.
Now take a look at this map which is of what I call Greater Kurdistan. That is the ultimate goal of our military aggression in Syria. Dividing the country, taking a large piece of it and handing it over to the corrupt Barzani family to run as part of Greater Kurdistan. If you look at these two maps side by side, you may notice a commonality.
The Obama administration has absolutely no authority, international or domestic, to wage war on the legitimate government of Syria or even “ISIS” in that country. They were not asked by the Syrian government to assist their fight against terrorism and as you can tell from the Operation Inherent Resolve website, they appear to be targeting civilian infrastructure, not “ISIS”
And the CIA certainly has no legal basis to be waging a proxy war with terrorist mercenaries from Wahhabist Saudi Arabia for the purpose of nation-building on behalf of our “national interests”
Across the board, whether you are talking about bombing “ISIS” or our CIA created “moderate rebels”, we are the illegal usurpers in Syria and have no business in that country.
It is time for the fake left anti-war movement to stand and be counted. If Bush were doing this they would have a million screaming activists occupying the Mall on Washington right now. Are they waiting for a US pilot to shoot down a Russian plane before they get involved or are they waiting, hoping, for some new propaganda spin they can use as justification to turn their backs on yet another Obama humanitarian intervention?
After 5 long, bloody years, the Obama administration has failed to reduce Syria to a failed state. Now that there is adult supervision in the country, it’s time to force President Peace Prize to quit his illegal war of aggression.
This is why I have created a petition on the Whitehouse.gov website titled: End the Illegal and Immoral Regime Change Operation in Syria
Here is a screenshot of the pre-published petition (I fully expect it to be gone in a matter of hours)
The petition was created this morning and can be found at these two URLs. Please sign the petition or at least share them as you see fit.
