The IDF, “the most moral army in the world”, Attacks a Small Child with a Broken Arm in Nabi Saleh (video)

by Scott Creighton (H/T Cat)

This video is hard too watch. Not so much because of the brutality of the IDF soldier directed at the young boy with a broken arm, though that is certainly bad enough. It’s hard too watch because you can see the indifference and contempt these soldiers feel for the Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. As the child with a broken arm screams for help, a number of women and children come to his aid and eventually the soldier decides it’s not worth torturing him any more and leaves, first dropping a smoke or tear gas canister as he takes off.

There are those out there who are trying to claim the video was staged using actors in order to present the IDF in a bad light. I guess killing 5oo children last summer didn’t do that already.

That claim though has been debunked… by an Israeli military spokesman who admitted the scene involved real IDF soldiers and tried to explain away the horrific act of the soldier by claiming the kid with a broken arm was “throwing rocks”

An Israeli army spokesman said that Palestinians had been throwing stones at an IDF force which was set up in the area.

An image has emerged on the internet of a boy, said to be the youth that was held at gunpoint, throwing rocks with one arm, while his other remained in plaster and in a sling.

The spokesman added that a decision was made to arrest the boy and it was during the detention that a ‘violent provocation’ began, including a number of Palestinian women and children.

He told Haaretz that there was ‘a violent disturbance of the peace in Nabi Saleh, in which Palestinians threw stones at IDF forces that were in the place.

‘The youth who was photographed was identified by the lookout force as a stone-thrower, and because of this it was decided to detain him. At the time of the arrest, a violent provocation by a number of Palestinians developed, including women and children. In light of the violent altercation, the commander decided to not to go ahead with the detention.’

He added: ‘Two additional Palestinian youths were arrested for throwing stones during the violent clashes. The soldier pictured was lightly wounded as a result of the violent actions against him.’

The clash happened in the village of Nabi Saleh, near Ramallah, during protests against Palestinian land confiscation to expand the nearby Jewish Hallamish settlement. Daily Mail

So the video and the disgusting brutality of the IDF are real. One good thing. Watch the old woman in red whip his ass. She gets in like 20 shots to his head. She’s bad ass. Screw Chuck Norris. This woman is awesome.

I first watched this video in the Times of Israel, and now I watched it again, here, to see whether my first impressions hold. They did. Here in the United States, it is illegal for cops to put choke hold, or the “head hold” during arresting a person, because the victim could easily die from strangulation. In fact, several have died from strangle hold. But this is West Bank, occupied Palestine. Here the IDF soldiers follow neither domestic laws, nor International Laws, because they know they will not be held accountable for their behavior and actions, no matter how atrocious. Putting a choke hold on a twelve year old boy: Wasn’t this IDF soldier so very brave? May be the Israeli government will give him a medal of honor or the “Star of David”for his valor. Watching this video should make any decent man who has conscience feel sick in the stomach. This video is one more evidence, if more evidence is needed, that many of the IDF soldiers behave more like a hoodlum in a ghetto, than like a soldier. Could it be that the way this soldier behaved is merely the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) taught to all Israeli soldiers? When will IDF soldiers’ brutality towards Palestinians in general, and Palestinian boys in particular, end? And all this for the sake of Palestinian lands and to entrench the occupation? And because Israelis covet Palestinian lands to extend the border of their state? And is this the way soldiers of “the most moral army in the world” behave? Yesh Prabhu, Bushkill, Pennsylvania

  1. That poor little boy !
yes, she is awesome. That man was done for… he would have been beaten to a pulp if his friends had not ran over to rescue him..

  2. No, this is not hard to watch, because it’s fake. Pallywood actors/activists could probably be influenced by Hamas, shall we say? Just look at the video: punches pulled all around. Do you think that IDF soldiers, or Israel, or Hamas, really care about palestinians? They would sooner shoot them than let women and children get the best of them. Stop it.

Take a look at Hamas and Abbas. Nice mansion you got there. Be a shame if something happened to it, asshole.

  3. These videos and stories only make Israel look good. Surely you jest.

  4. …and the cameras and the Palestinian flag. Wut?

    My bullshit meter just pegged.

  5. It’s strange how we never hear about the Palestinian Authority or Abbas.

    Even I got confused.
