Some New Yorkers almost get it.
“It appears our governor just couldn’t pass up an opportunity to profit politically from the horrific gun violence that struck the little town of Herkimer on Wednesday. Nice to know he cares enough to fire up the chopper and land within hours of the event. Funny thing is, I can’t remember hearing about him landing in the five boroughs (26 homicides in the last month), Syracuse, Rochester or Buffalo in response to an incident of shots fired and people killed. Perhaps it has to do with which people are being killed.” James Saxton, Bridgeport
It’s got a lot to do with “which people are being killed”, James. That’s a fact. And “when’ factors in as well, now that you mention it.
There’s an irony here and a chance that the best laid plans of mice and corrupt men will give way to something better, something new. I hope the people of New York see it. I really do.
Herkimer is a village in Herkimer County, NY. about 13 mi southeast of Utica. Funny thing about Herkimer County, they apparently don’t support Gov. Cuomo and Mayor Bloomberg’s recent gun-grabbing legislation called N.Y. Safe Act and voted to do something about it by repealing it along with 47 other counties in the state.
That means 48 out of the 62 counties in the state of New York have moved to legally repeal Cuomo and Bloomberg’s gun-grabbing laws and there are 4 more that are already in the process.
“As of March 11, a total of 52 out of New York State’s 62 counties have introduced resolutions requesting the repeal of the NY SAFE Act. Of those 52 county resolutions, 40 of them have already passed — meaning that roughly two-thirds of the counties of New York State reject Governor Andrew Cuomo’s “landmark” gun control legislation…” New American
And yes, when you look at the actual resolution passed by the PEOPLE of Herkimer Co. you notice that the local Remington Arms plant has a good deal to do with their action. They BELIEVE in maintaining their rights and they apparently wish to protect LOCAL industry and JOBS. So yes, the local economy has something to do with this as well.
WHEREAS, the right to bear arms is guaranteed by the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, as well as the Civil Rights Law of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, the New York State Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act of 2013 which was rushed to passage by the New York State Senate, Assembly and Governor, will have a detrimental effect on hunters, sportsmen and legal gun owners, as well as the Remington Arms Company; and
WHEREAS, this legislation imposes burdensome new regulations upon law abiding gun owners and will curtail the rights of law abiding citizens of this State; and…
… WHEREAS, Remington Arms Company is a major employer in Upstate New York, and a significant manufacturing success story in recent years; and a company which the Herkimer County Legislature has been proud to support, and will continue to support; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Herkimer County Legislature does hereby oppose the enactment of the New York State Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act of 2013 because it fundamentally alters or abridges the right to keep and bear arms without addressing the problems of gun violence; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that this Legislature hereby calls upon the New York State Legislature and Governor to set aside and annul this ill conceived and poorly drafted statute which abridges the rights of law abiding citizens of the State of New York; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that certified copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the Governor of the State of New York, Senator James L. Seward, Senator Hugh T. Farley, Assemblyman Marc W. Butler, Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney, Assemblyman Anthony J. Brindisi and the New York State Association of Counties.
Herkimer’s resolution was dated January 23rd of 2013, that’s just a few days after Cuomo signed the bill on Jan. the 15th making it one of the first in the state to officially register their repeal of the act.
The first provisions of the law go into effect on March the 15th, today. That’s the expanded background check law including private sales.
On March 11th, two days before the hastily cobbled together psyop, the VA said they were not going to abide by the law in New York state because it violated the civil liberty of vets.
“Federal laws safeguarding the confidentiality of veterans’ treatment records do not authorize VA mental-health professionals to comply with this New York State law,” Ballesteros said in a prepared statement. “Under the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution, federal laws take precedence over conflicting state and local laws.”
For that reason and many others, the NYS Conference of Local Mental Hygiene Directors have also called for the law’s repeal.
Also consider the timing in these terms as well… on March 23rd there will be the “Revolution Against Tyranny” rally which will actually be a build-up to a much larger rally set to take place in April. During that rally… they will have 100,000 citizens of New York massing in Albany to demand MORE THAN JUST THE REPEAL OF THE ILLEGAL NY SAFE ACT… they will demand the resignation of Gov. Cuomo.
“The April rally is where “100,000 New Yorkers will demand the resignation of Andrew Cuomo, and those in the legislature who, at a time of high emotion and trauma, when our nation was grieving the horror of the Connecticut mass killing, chose to attack the basic rights of taxpaying citizens for the sole purpose of appeasing the egotistical arrogance of the self-absorbed Andrew Cuomo” the message continued”
The NY Safe Act was supposed to be the flagship legislation that gun-grabbers like Billionaire Bloomberg will use in other states across the nation. Bloomberg has created countless PACs and lobbying groups, spending tens of millions of his own dollars in the process, for the express purpose of pushing this amendment nullifying agenda and keeping candidates who don’t agree with him from offices in state and federal elections. This is his BIGGEST concern to date. It’s his globalist legacy to disarm the American people.
And it’s failing miserably in this one state he can’t control. The first state.
48 counties, 43 local municipalities, 13 Law Enforcement offices, the Association of Erie County Governments, New York State Association of County Clerks, NY Association of Counties and the Veteran’s Administration have ALL called for the laws repeal while 5 lawsuits are currently pending to that end.
And there will be a hundred thousand on the steps of the capital in April looking for Bloomberg’s bitch’s head on a pike.
With all of this factored in, don’t you find an odd coincidence that Kurt Myers, a man with no violent history, to go on an unexplainable killing spree in this location? In this politically charged atmosphere? Now Cuomo and Bloomberg can rush up to Mohawk and say “see? we warned you!”
I stopped believing in coincidences like this one when I stopped believing in Santa Claus.
No, Cuomo isn’t going to rush into the five boroughs when 26 or 2,000 get killed in a month because frankly those are the few remaining counties that support his gun-grabbing bill. That’s a fact. Look it up.
This is the reality that we live in. People like Cuomo and Bloomberg detest the very notion of self-governance and having their agenda thwarted by a bunch of county commissioners because they still believe in something as archaic as the “will of the people” infuriates them to no end.
Perhaps it’s time the people of New York, the people who are banding together to fight the will of these self-righteous billionaires and their lackeys, come to the dire yet easily proven understanding that they don’t just wait around and HOPE for events like the one that took 4 of your neighbors and friends… they create them.
Perhaps it’s time you went to favorable law enforcement officials and started planning to take a closer look at some of these events which have spurned these monstrous laws. Because they will continue until these ruthless craven despots get what they want. After all, that is the threat, isn’t it?
Wouldn’t it be something if instead of New York being the model for the tyrants like Bloomberg it becomes the example of how the people working together can undermine their best laid plans? If Tea Partiers and Occupiers stood side by side? If the Occupy Wall Street movement got up to Albany and marched with you in numbers to big to ignore? If in New York state we finally come together as a nation and reject our wanna-be overlord’s plans?
Wouldn’t that be something to behold? Bloomberg being undone by his own oppressive ambition and in the process, setting the start of our nationwide rejection of him and all his billionaire buddy’s plans?
Now wouldn’t that be a cruel irony to follow him in his dreams the rest of his miserable life? That is the stuff New York is made of. If we can make it there, we can make it anywhere… if you’ll pardon the little jab there.
