Aurora Massacre: Stick Figure Confession = FBI Drop Gun?

by Scott Creighton

UPDATE 2: Now they say they didn’t look in the package of “stick figure drawing” confessions and that news reports about them contain significantly untrue details. They claim they didn’t examine the contents of the box. What? No stick figure drawing confession? What a shame.

UPDATE: Now the defense attorneys are saying James was a patient of Lynne Fenton, the medical school’s student mental health director and that the book is protected under doctor-patient confidentiality laws. See update after article for quote and link.

(U.S. Postal Service spokesman David Rupert) said no one has contacted the Postal Service for assistance in the investigation.”

Only in America, folks.

Fox News is standing by their original timeline (read my first article on the story when it broke) which stated that the package that was “discovered” at the university mail-room containing a notebook with what amounts to “stick figure” drawing confession from James Holmes, was there since July 12th. You will remember that quickly after the story came out, the people shaping the narrative of this investigation made some radical adjustments to the story for obvious reasons (lawsuits and lots of them). Fox is insisting that their “unnamed source” is more reliable than a university spokesman who would certainly be motivated by protecting the institution from potential liability claims, so they are standing firm on their story. And as it just so happens, the feds don’t seem very interested in tracking this package through the postal service like they did all those others. In my experience, if you don’t look for something, it’s because you don’t want to find it.

I wonder why that is.

“We respect the University’s position but are confident that our law enforcement source, who we will not name because of a prior agreement, was in a position to know the timing of the package’s whereabouts. We believe those details will be part of the evidence, which will be presented at an eventual trial,” said Fox Executive Editor John Moody.” Denver Post

Meanwhile, the judge is put a gag order on the entire case so no one else can leak potentially harmful “news’ (harmful to whom exactly?) otherwise known as “evidence”

“Neither officials with the university nor law enforcement would discuss the contents of the package, citing a judge’s order banning investigators and lawyers involved in the case from discussing it.” Denver Post

Isn’t it interesting that they can come out with a damning report which purportedly claims that James Holmes practically confessed to the Aurora Massacre with stick figure drawings, but then use the judge’s gag order to keep from having to show proof of that claim to the press and the people whom they are trying to persuade?

Remember, in the original Fox “News” story it wasn’t James Holmes that alerted the feds to the whereabouts of the notebook, it was a professor at the school who had a package that he mistakenly thought was from Holmes. Turns out, there was another package that was.

It was NBC “News” that fixed that remarkably unbelievable aspect of the story, fingering Holmes as the one who told the cops about it by citing still more “unnamed sources”.  But that flies in the face of reports that James Holmes doesn’t know why he is in jail and the fact that other officials refuse to confirm Holmes as the source of the location of the book to publications like the Associated Press. Seems like someone doesn’t want to go on record with that claim.

He claims he doesn’t know why he’s in jail,” a jail staffer told the newspaper. ”He asked, ‘why am I here?”’

If he doesn’t know why he is there, how do you think he was able to tell the feds the location of his “stick figure confession” manifesto?

But notice something written in the last sentence of this Associated Press story:

NBC News, citing unnamed sources, reported that Holmes told investigators to look for the package and that it described killing people.

The FBI and other law enforcement agencies refused to confirm the reports to The Associated Press.

U.S. Postal Service spokesman David Rupert said the agency’s inspectors have no direct knowledge of the package reportedly containing the notebook. He said no one has contacted the Postal Service for assistance in the investigation.” AP

Let me see if I got this straight:

The “official story’ is that James Holmes had over 50 packages sent to his home and his school over the past 3 months with gear and bullets and the post office was able to track ALL OF THAT since Friday (and in fact the first reports of all that postal service information came out early Saturday. How did they track all of that so fast?)…

Yet, perhaps the biggest piece of incriminating evidence doesn’t rate even a request by investigators to the post office to help them track it to see where it came from and when it was sent?

They supposedly found it Monday. This is being written on Friday. The top notch investigators of the FBI haven’t figured out yet that running a postal service trace on that package might be helpful to them… after all the other traces of all the other packages they’ve already done (supposedly).

Really? We’re supposed to believe that the postal service worked with the FBI and tracked all those packages received by James Holmes at his home address and the university, and then on Monday the postal service just happened to deliver another package to the same university, with his same home address in the return address box, without it being flagged or even noticed by the postal service?

No wonder the FBI doesn’t want to do a trace on the “stick figure confession” package.

Not only has the judge decided to put a gag order on the case after this fiasco, but apparently no cameras or court appointed reporters will be allowed into the courtroom for the arraignment on Monday.

They’ve also erected a chain-link fence complete with a green screen, around the entire building where the shooting took place.

Does this seem like justice is being done here? Can justice be found in an atmosphere of secrecy and deception? Because let’s face it, the more I look at this “stick figure drawing confession” the more I think of what used to be called a “drop gun

A drop gun is a clean, unregistered pistol dropped at the scene of an officer involved shooting which is used to justify it.

Are we looking at a modern day version of an FBI drop gun?

No one is clear on how the feds were brought to the university post office in the first place. The first guy who supposedly called them, didn’t call them, the suspect who basically confessed when he told them about it has no idea why he is in jail, they can’t even agree on when the package got there, and the FBI doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to ask the post office to shed some light on the subject.

Also remember that this entire story was falling apart at the seams when the “stick figure confession’ broke. Lots of questions surrounding the case were leading people all across the political divide to start wondering aloud about the case. This website alone had seen thousands of hits coming from “respectable” sites where links had been removed many times in the past.

I’ll tell you this, IF that notebook is a fabrication, given the means by which it was discovered and the varying manner in which they are still trying to prop it up as proof, it changes this case considerably. If that book is a forgery, a “drop gun” if you will, then it is fatally damning to the prosecution’s case.

Time will tell.

“In their motion, Holmes’ court-appointed attorneys disclosed that the package contained a notebook and confirmed that Holmes was a patient of Lynne Fenton, the medical school’s student mental health director. That means his communications with her should be protected under Colorado doctor-patient confidentiality laws. The disclosure, they argued, violated the judge’s gag order on participants in the case and put Holmes’ right to a fair trial “in serious jeopardy.”” MSNBC

“Prosecutors rebuffed the defense motion and argued that many of the news stories about the package contained significant factual errors and that there was no evidence the government was responsible for the leak.

Reports that the police “are currently examining the contents of the box” are “untrue, as the contents were secured and not examined,” prosecutors said.” Raw Story

  1. Local station CBS4 in Denver just reported that the sheriff said Holmes has regular access to television and newspapers, as do all the other inmates. And because he is in solitary, he is watching all of this footage alone.

What, if anything, do you make of that?

    • You mean each cell has a TV and newspapers delivered? Or do the inmates go to a central community room where TV and newspapers are allowed?
If he is in solitary confinement, do they let him go into the community room when it is vacant?
Maybe they gave him his own private TV and newspapers?

    • Maybe it is different in CO. But in CA, when an individual is in solitary confinement, they are locked up for 23 hours and get one hour of “freedom.” They usually go in the yard or in the cafeteria, but they’re always guarded. He is not allowed to communicate with others unless his attorney visits him.

Inmates in jail typically get 30 mins access to TV.. I believe it is twice a day.

      • I’m from Colorado and in solitary you don’t get anything but meals and a chance to shower and you are not let out of your cell except to shower.

        • What about visitors, phone calls?

          • No phone calls and some of the county jails will let you have visitors but some of them won’t. (My ex and 1 of my sons has been in there quite a bit and also in prison). Not good. They had put James in the infirmary for a bit but they move him around a lot from what I hear. (I got a friend that works in Adams County Jail and 1 that works in Arapahoe County-shh though)

    • you dont get a tv in solitary confinement. period.

  2. I’m really not sure. They have also said he only gets out one hour a day, and is always segregated from the general population. I just find it odd that they would say he can read and watch all this (possibly all false) footage… then say he doesn’t know why he’s there…. as well as the other questions it raises (for me)

I’ll see if they repeat that statement at noon. It could be archived on their website.

    • i read too that he only gets 1 hour a day to leave his cell and is forced to wear a vest to prevent him from being stabbed. I find it odd that he has access to all that…

If you imagine that it really wasn’t him…must be so trippy to read all the coverage and see your face splashed all over the place.

  3. D.D. Covers, If they have the TVs up on the walls near the ceiling and out in the hallways (I saw that in a movie)…. then maybe he can watch that…
and it would be a wild trip to see your face in the news about being a shooter of 71 people…. and you unaware of what happened…
and, sunshinez, you can’t talk about it to anyone… except maybe your lawyer….that would be extreme torture….:(

  4. All his purchases from online stores are traceable as they have tracking numbers. The numbers track where the package was processed and the status of delivery. That is all available online by using tracking numbers generated by the USPS system.

However, if you put a stamp or two on an envelope and put it in a mail box, it is not traceable or trackable. It just ends up at the final destination. You will only see the postage stamp from the post office that processed it.

    • but don’t you have to have the package postal information before you can request a tracing?
I thought the boxes were already opened and trashed.

  5. i see how theyre traceable but i dont understand how he was id’ed processed and they found all that information in such short amount of time.

    • Because they’re the FBI. Lol, but yes, the only hypothetical reasoning is the fact that they knew of him.

If the FBI was smart enough, they should have waited… and then do their so called investigation and say something like “we went to his home and found bombs…”

Unless… if there was really another shooter or two, then it could be the other two roommates and he’s getting the rap for it. Who knows. But I am going to go with my original theory.

This case is going to be “history”…

  6. “In 1903 Horace Quinn beat Mr. R. Keef for the office of sheriff. He had been well trained as the chief deputy sheriff. … Sheriff Quinn held the office until 1919. … He had known his county in 1903 and he knew it and controlled it even better in 1917.”

Those lines are in the opening paragraph of Chapter 51, Steinbeck’s 1952 saga, East of Eden. Couple pages later finds Sheriff Quinn telling one of his constituents, “We do quite a few illegal things.”

Steinbeck wrote in ’52 about some things he’d figured out–things that had happened in his hometown at the turn of the century.

Sheriff Quinns have always known and controlled their pieces of ground, every since law-enforcement came into being–and they do it by whatever it takes.

  7. Check out this video focusing on the missing metal object next to the gas mask. It never had an evidence marker, but shouldn’t it have been included in marker #3, if that was to mark a objects together as the same group? Batman Theater Shooting Possible Missing Evidence of Second Shooter – Cover Up

    • you mean that triangle at 48 seconds? Isn’t that the side view of the number one triangle thingy? Or is that a metal object marked at number 3? What metal are you referring to?

  8. In my opinion, all the stories about JH spitting and yelling at the guards is bull as is the claim JH is saying he has amnesia. He isn’t saying a word. He is most likely looking like he looked in Court.

I did read that the media would be allowed in the courtroom at the next hearing, just not live broadcasted.

  9. After reading that article, I decided to hit the link that says “If you have a news tip or a follow-up to this story, click here” and I sent a short email to the effect of, please investigate… this makes no sense and the victims deserve more. I then included links to the posts on this site.

I’m about to send the same to the CALL7 investigator

I’m sure it does nothing, but sorta makes me feel a tiny bit better as I feel very frustrated because I don’t know what else to do.

  10. This Was A Conspiracised Disaster, Rather Than A Contrived Disaster

The leet controlled media, and the leet controlled state invent impossible evidence around random major disasters, so they all appear to be conspiracy induced disasters. They thus become conspiracised disasters. That way, when they really do conspire to create convenient disasters, those conspiracised random ones obfuscate the contrived conspiracy induced ones. It’s very easy to do, and there is never a lack of coincidental corroborating apparent evidence.

    • Looks like maybe this event was a ‘contrived conspiracy one’….. if I understand your comment right…. although you could be right too….. the entire situation is very confusing…..
probably we’ll never know for sure……..
      that is the sad part….

  11. My comment just got eaten. I forgot and included the verboten “m-a-j-o-r” word!

    • Hi blues,
wish I could read it… you know ‘Scott’ will find it as soon as he gets his computer back up… I think he is backing up and cleaning up stuff tonight…. I talked to him a few hours ago….

  12. Scott, please check out:

Look for the dreaded “m-a-j-o-r” word, etc.

  13. I sent them both e-mails too. maybe that will help.

    • I got a rather rude reply back from the CALL7 investigator, but because I requested a “read” receipt to the more general “news tip” email address I sent, I’ve gotten 3 other “read receipts” from other people besides the first one I included in my first post. I guess it goes to multiple people? Hopefully someone will be more interested than their investigator, who said:

      “thank you for your comment.

However, I have no clue what you are talking about.

If you have some pertenent information please let me know as I am always interested in looking into relevant info.”

I was pretty specific what I was talking about. With links to explain more.

      • Wrong planet!

      • I was having a discussion with the John F. guy and i got some info through to him but it ended with him telling me theres no credibility behind our ridiculous findings and that theyre are still conspiracies surrounding columbine. One would have to be foolish to use this information

Well no crap theres no credibility were not news reporters. Where down the line does someone get to determine that something is true? Where is that guy?

      • You tried, D.D. Covers, and it was a good ‘try’,
reporters aren’t allowed to ask questions anymore… but I bet you got him thinking……

      • He’s not only rude, he can’t spell.

        It’s “pertinent”, not “pertenent”.

There’s something very strange about this whole thing, especially considering who the boy’s father is….

  14. Dr. Lynne Fenton, a University of Colorado psychiatrist, had Colorado shooting suspect James Holmes as a patient before last week’s movie theater rampage, according to a court document filed Friday.

She worked as a physician in private practice in Denver from 1994 to 2005, and was chief of physical medicine with the U.S. Air Force in San Antonio, Texas, in the early 1990s, according to the resume.

    • I found this interesting: “Fenton sees between 15 and 20 graduate students per week for medication and psychotherapy”

I guess school wide? Not just neuroscience? If neuroscience, that’s two-thirds of the graduates.

Obviously she didn’t think he was particularly dangerous?

      • Yup…either he wasn’t exhibiting any signs of major mental issues or she’s just incompetent and doesn’t know what she’s doing…

    • uh oh. I wonder if his type of study requires him to attend therapy?

    • “Chief of physical medicine with the U.S. Air Force in San Antonio, Texas…” Oh yeah? This anything to do with the US Government’s supposedly-secret mind-altering program?

  15. And he has the audacity to call himself an “investigator”…he obviously ain’t investigating anything. So frustrating.

  16. Did someone already post this? A former roommate of JH’s has written a Facebook post, not denying that he did it but saying James is FAR from how he’s portrayed in the media. Anybody confirm the authenticity of this?

Thoughts about a friend named James Holmes

Disclaimer: I’m not here to justify the actions of the Aurora shooting. Nothing can warrent such a ridiculous act. Instead, I’m going to give you some background on a side that not even the media has covered. After a few days of digesting this, I decided to write my thoughts about it all and kinda describe what I’ve been thinking.

For those of you who haven’t already known, James (or Jim) was one of my 3 apartment-mates in my second year at UCR. Originally I was assigned to live with James, —- (both lived with each other freshmen year) and someone named —-, who transfered out before the fall, in the newly constructed Glen Mor apartments . During winter quarter, —– moved into the apartment. After the year was over, —- moved out with his friend, —- and I lived in —, and James lived on his own until he graduated. We have seen James randomly throughout campus and lost contact with him after 2010, especially since his facebook was deactived (not that he used it that often anyway).

I had not heard anything about him until Friday morning, when a friend posted about the suspect. I saw the picture without looking at the name and said holy ****, that’s James…I was in disbelief. It took me almost the entire day to really pull myself together…a man who’s responsible for 12 deaths and 50+ injuries was my apartment-mate. My co-workers thought I was lying at first…but seriously how do you make this stuff up? I read all these comments and articles about how much of a monster James is…and I’m mixed with emotions…none of you know him. Everyone’s disrespectful and ****…sure he did a huge crime, but he wasn’t always like this.

James was an introverted guy, no doubt about that. A smart and witty guy who prefered to be doing his own things. He was not a loner; a loner implies that he struggled to make friends and socialize. Instead, he was self-sufficient and independant. He lived his own life, had his own schedule and did it; nothing wrong with that. He would always be in his room with the door open, either doing homework, playing video games, or lying on his bed and stare at the ceiling. When you see him walk by or ride his bike, you can see that he’s in his own zone. The guy loved his solitude, but if you took the effort to get his attention you’d get it. As roommates, we would have to drag him out of his room to work out with us, or watch tv or eat. Nevertheless, he was warm and friendly. He liked listening to trance, he watches comedies such as the office, family guy, simpsons. He even came out a few times to play games with me and —–. He was never good at them, and he played 1/5th of what I used to play. He would always drive me to get groceries or to drive me to metrolink or even san diego when he was going home. The only thing I discovered was that he didn’t like going home and he especially didn’t get along with his little sister because she was bratty, but even then he would never show resentment or hate. This guy is more normal than some people I know right now. If you asked any of my roommates, they would tell you the same thing.

So what happened to this guy? I don’t know…something definitely happened to him from the time we graduated to the shooting. He apparently went to Colorado to get his PHD but he ended up dropping out. I felt no danger living and interacting with him. Hell, a few of my SD friends even stayed over and met him during the SD wildfires. The thing that we can take from all this is that this could happen to anyone. It’s unfortunate that a friend I got to know and bond with is involved with the shooting. It stings…because a vision of someone has been shattered by a crime. I feel bad that I didn’t check up on him after college. I suggest that everyone should check up on their introverted friends and get to know them better. You’ll learn a side that no one knows (remember, they’re misunderstood, not crazy). Maybe you’ll help them deal with something that they’ve been struggling with…because I feel like this could have been avoided if the proper steps were taken.

Hopefully this gives some perspective on the other side of James; my intentions aren’t to change your mind about the crime, but give you some background on an area that isn’t covered. The media does a fantastic job of making him look like a monster…but there’s always two sides of the story. I do thank the people who has been checking up on me. Prayers go out to all the victims and their families, and even James’s family.

    • wow. I teared up

    • This doesn’t sound authentic at all, you would use the word ‘man’ to descibe a guy you ‘use to room with’?….No way, not in a million years! Expect a lot of this to start appearing all over net soon!

    • Thanks for posting this, Sunshinez,
I believe what this room mate says… sounds like the thoughtful thoughts of an educated young man who feels with his heart and mind…. he had to tell the truth about James, at least the ‘truths’ that he knew….
and from the pictures of James from his early years… his smile and activities seem to portray the kind of person that this room mate talks about….

    • He sounds like a good friend. And he’s right, there’s nothing wrong with preferring your own company. Heck, I do too! I’m not going to go out and kill people because of it and I don’t think he did either.

James Holmes is a “patsy”, just like Oswald was, and I doubt we will ever get to the bottom of it… just like Oswald.

  17. Thank you for all of this information. I haven’t gone through much of it yet, but I will. From the very beginning of this, I felt something was very wrong. I’ve pissed a few friends off by saying so…friends who just blindly believe whatever the media tells them. I have an interesting story of the day that “news” released information about the “notebook.”

The day of that information was released, during my lunch hour, I had Googled “James Holmes,” and the first stories that came up were about this notebook. I can’t remember what site it was that I clicked on first, but the thing I do remember is that the “source” being quoted said that the book contained pictures of stick figures of the, and I quote, “assailantS.” Freudian?

Later on that day, around 5:00 when I got home, again I Googled “James Holmes,” and to my surprised NO stories about the notebook came up. So then I tried searching “James Holmes notebook,” and the old stories from about 4-5 hours ago came up in the search. Would that not have been big news? Why were no more stories being posted about it all of a sudden? Why did NO stories show up about it in the initial search? Were all of the news agencies getting together to attempt to make the notebook story more believable? To fix their mistakes?

Around 8:00 that night, when I searched yet again…the stories were back. All of this struck me as very odd!

  18. Also odd to me is that only about 11 hours after the attack, faculty, staff, and students were sent an email by the dean of the university telling them not to talk to the media, but to refer them instead to a spokesperson. To me, it just seems like there were a lot of people who know of something in advance.

    • It’s pretty standard for the purpose of everyone providing information because of personal bias. These individuals represent the school. The school has a right to send such emails. The only time they can speak is if they need to report somethin or cops want to question certain individual.

  19. I wish I could find the name of the person that posted this. I googled “James Holmes roommate” and it came up. However, I don’t think they’ve mentioned this anywhere in the “news”, which of course could be because it goes against their narrative of a crazed monster.

If it is real, it sounds to me like this person is trying to get people to read between the lines. I think they might be doubting the story as well.
