There is even more evidence today that the International Criminal Court (ICC) is nothing more than a pro-Western front group doing the bidding of imperialist nations across the world.
“This dangerous decision opens the ICC to accusations of political bias and is inconsistent with the independence of the ICC.”
“It also breaches the Rome Statute, which clearly states that such matters should be considered by the institution’s judges.” head of Amnesty International’s International Justice campaign
The ICC has refused to investigate Israel for war-crimes committed during the 2008-2009 bombing of the civilian population in Gaza known by the operational name given it, Cast Lead. As many as 1,440 Palestinians were killed during the 20 days of the IDF’s attacks on the civilian population.
Luis Moreno-Ocampo is the globalist lead prosecutor (and seemingly the only one on staff at the ICC) who has conveniently brought charges against Gadhafi, Assad, and Joseph Kony when they were needed to justify Nato actions. Moreno-Ocampo has claimed that he can’t investigate Israel’s war-crimes because Palestine is not a state.
“The office [of the prosecutor] has assessed that it is for the relevant bodies at the UN or the Assembly of State Parties to make a legal determination whether Palestine qualifies as a state for the purpose of acceding to the Rome Statute [the court's founding treaty],” Moreno-Ocampo
This is not surprising and shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone. Read what I wrote about back in June of last year about the ICC arrest warrants they took out on Gadhafi. Moreno-Ocampo was “100% convinced” he would “find” evidence that Gadhafi was a war-criminal prior to even starting the investigation. Turns out, as we all know now (and as some of us knew and wrote then) that the so-called atrocities committed by Gadhafi against his people in the early stages of the destabilization campaign never happened. Somehow the “investigator” Ocampo missed that. In fact, his entire steam of evidence against Gadhafi was based on hearsay testimony from people who wanted to see Gadhafi removed from power.
“Luis Moreno-Ocampo took his charge seriously and declare before any investigation that he was “100% certain” that he would find “crimes against humanity” charges for the Libyan leader. Ocampo found his “evidence” by listening to whatever so-called “activists” made up with no supporting physical evidence of any kind.” Scott Creighton
There are several legitimate resources for information on the war-crimes and crimes against humanity known as Operation Cast Lead. B’Tselem has done several important studies on the subject and at the time is considered the most accurate source of information on the mounting crimes in Gaza and the Occupied Territories. They have a new report out on Human Rights in the Occupied Territories 2011. It’s a comprehensive accounting of ongoing crimes against humanity being ignored by fake institutions like the ICC and the world press in general.
The Goldstone Report ( Report of the United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict (PDF) ) also listed dozens of Israeli crimes against the people of Gaza during Cast Lead.
Photos of the IDF raining white phosphorous down on civilian targets should be enough to merit an investigation and so should the testimony of IDF soldiers who admit they were told to target civilians. Check out Breaking the Silence, a website set up by former IDF soldiers who tell of what they were ordered to do in the Occupied Territories.
“People were not instructed to shoot at everyone they see, but they were told that from a certain distance when they approach a house, no matter who it is – even an old woman – take them down.” BBC
The Israelis targeted a UN school, hospitals, Mosques… pretty much anything they could.
There is way more evidence than needed to justify an investigation which is why Moreno-Ocampo had to give the excuse he gave as to why he isn’t going to investigate these obvious crimes against humanity.
Forced occupation of a foreign land is itself a war crime according to the Geneva Conventions. Each and every settlement should earn someone a few years in prison.
There is absolutely no way to justify the ICC decision to reject an investigation into Israel’s crimes against humanity during operation Cast Lead and even the ongoing crimes taking place now. Moreno-Ocampo has simply proven that he and the ICC are nothing more than the complicit puppets of the pro-Western Nato imperialist machine and they have no credibility what-so-ever.
