Nicaragua – A Nations Right To Survive

John Pilger’s 1983 film about the small nation of Nicaragua and its right to survive investigates the corruption in Central America. In 1979, the Sandinistas won a popular revolution in Nicaragua, putting an end to decades of the corrupt US-backed Somoza dictatorship. They based their reformist ideology on that of the English Co-operative Movement, but was to prove too ‘radical’ for the Reagan administration.
In this film, Pilger describes the achievements of the Sandinistas and their “threat of a good example”.

Low Flying 747 Buzzes Lower Manhattan, It was The President’s “Other” Plane. WTF?

Gear up the lie machines.

Turns out the President’s “other” plane (AirForce 1 “B”(?)) was buzzing the financial district in lower Manhattan today, for some fucked up reason. Even had two fighter escort jets buzzing along side it.

They got so close to buildings, people came running out by the thousands, trying to flee for their lives. Imagine a New Yorker looking out his office window and seeing a 747 at eye level heading up the bay towards his building.

What would you think?

The “official story” is about as stupid as their 9/11 one; it was a “photo op”. They wanted AirForce 1 in front  of the Statue of Liberty or something.

Like they think we never heard of Photoshop before.

That story will change soon enough to one less stupid. I can’t wait to see what they come up with this time.  Crank up the magic lie machine and have at it.

Till then, enjoy the video. God knows what the story will be next week.

Telegraph UK Tries to Undermine the Positive News Coming Out of the Ahmadinejad Interview

by Scott Creighton

I guess the rule is, if there is good news about President Ahmadinejad out of Iran to report, you have to make up at least two horrible lies about him to go with it in the report. If you have a 6 paragraph article, you dedicate the first paragraph to smearing him with old lies, then the next one is about the ‘good news”, then in the last 4 paragraphs you find whatever out of context quotes you can find and use them to smear him even more.

This is what you call the Israeli “balance” on the issue.  Kinda like Fox News is “Fair and Balanced”.

In an interview with ABC News’s George Stephanopoulos, President Ahmadinejad has reportedly stated that Israel does have a right to exist and that Iran would recognize any 2-state solution that the Palestinians voted for and supported.

The Telegraph UK ran a front page article claiming that this development was “the first time” President Ahmadinejad had made these kinds of statement that is a not factually correct on their part;  President Ahmadinejad has made these statements before.  He made the same statement once before on a CBS interview with Mike Wallace… but they edited it out so Mike could pretend Ahmadinejad was evil and win his Emmy. ( Don’t believe me? Watch for yourself…)

by Keith Jones, WSWS

The Canadian Auto Workers union—acting in concert with the bosses of Chrysler and Fiat, the Obama administration, and the Canadian and Ontario governments—has reopened the three-year concessions contract the union negotiated with Chrysler Canada in Spring 2008 and forced through sweeping news cuts in benefits and paid time-off, work-rule changes, and other concessions.
