For only the third time in history, a seated U.S. President has won the Nobel Peace Prize. Barack Obama has been named the recipient of this years award. According to the chairman of the Nobel committee, President Obama was given the award not so much for what he has done, but for what he represents: “Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future,”
Well if that is the case it seems to me that they should have given the prize to Obama’s PR team because he is just a pitchman and “HOPE” was just his empty slogan given to him by the advertising executives that ran his campaign. And besides, it was a cruel empty slogan at that. As his people feverishly work to spin this new honor and milk it for every poll percentage point they can, Obama looks to humbly take his place in history next to a couple terrorists and war criminals who have won the Peace Prize in the past.
The more things “CHANGE”, the more they stay the same.
