A NYT article just came out detailing over 200 arrests (with more to come) of border patrol agents who have been caught smuggling people, guns, and drugs over the border.
A branch of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Customs and Border Protection is one of the largest in the DHS, as it combines boarder agents and customs agent alike. When the DHS was formed in 2003, for some reason they thought it wise to dismantle the internal affairs unit, leaving the agency wide open for all kinds of hanky-panky.
