What is it About Cloud Atlas? What is it About Aaron Swartz? Related? yes

by Scott Creighton

“The problem you create is a political one… There is a natural order to this world and those who try to upend it do not fare well”

So, I’m reading David Mitchell’s Cloud Atlas and I’ve come to understand what it is that kept U.S. corporations in Vichy Hollywood from financing the film. In a word, it’s blasphemous in it’s encompassing review of our “progress” from the days of imposing brutal slavery on not just the darker skinned less violent tribes we happened across, but also the generally weaker beings in our own societies. This is the nature and the guiding principle of corporatism; the only sanctioned religion of the Washington Consensus.

“Be that as it may, future ages will still be corpocratic ones. Corpocracy isn’t just another political system that will come and go – corpocracy is the natural order, in harmony with nature.”

At the heart of Cloud Atlas is one recurring theme: knowledge must be carefully controlled working your way up the stratified class system and completely withheld from the least of society altogether so that stability and order can be maintained.

Does this tie into the recent attempt to shut down the internet and control the sharing of information freely from one user to the next? Does this tie into the new globalist Education First program being forced on the people of the occupied neoliberal nations? Does this tie into the murder of Aaron Swartz who swore that access to knowledge must never depend on access to money and took action to see that it wasn’t?

“What if the differences between social strata stem not from genomics or inherent xcellence or even dollars, but merely differences in knowledge? Would this not mean the whole Pyramid is built on shifting sands?”

Oscar Unchained: Dark Thirty Approaches

by Scott Creighton

All across the country the debate is raging: gun “nuts” verses the rational, reasonable pragmatics who wish to enact gun “control” on our society in response to all the senseless violence of the past 6 months. The “liberal” left and the “moderate” right are coming together as they have in the past on issues like extending the FISA warrentless wiretapping, the Global Free Market Wars, the TARP banker bailouts plan, NDAA 2012, constant warmongering sanctions on the people of Iran, keeping Gitmo open and torture. The pragmatic center which houses the likes of Brennan and Panetta and Clinton and the Bush clan are teaming up with the Hollywood elites to push for gun “control” in order to make us a safer society. Now is the time they say to take action to end this senseless violence in America.

But while they do that, and I mean right in the middle of this push, out comes today’s Oscar nominees and what films do you think lead the pack in the category of Best Film? “Zero Dark Thirty”, “Argo” and “Django Unchained”

Two films of admitted CIA propaganda justifying horrific violence and one of gratuitous desensitizing gun violence taken too an unprecedented and even comedic level.

This is the best of the year that Hollywood has to offer a country that is sick of undeclared wars, random drone strikes killing children and mass shootings in theaters, malls and elementary schools?

All this while an early Oscar favorite, a film that received a 10 minute standing ovation at the Toronto Film Festival, garnered not one single Oscar nomination. Not one. It’s message, perhaps it’s warning, was simple and completely ignored:

“Our lives are not our own. We are bound to others past and present. And by each crime and every kindness we birth our future”

What are we becoming?

NBC Pimps CIA Propaganda Over “Cloud” – There IS a Natural Order

by Scott Creighton

“The problem you create is a political one… There is a natural order to this world and those who try to upend it do not fare well”

When one film beats out another film in box office revenues (especially “estimated” revenues) WTF cares? No one does. No one is sitting around rooting for some Hollywood contrivance over another like college football teams.

But don’t tell NBC “New” that. They ran a front page headline on their website today “Argo Beats Cloud Atlas at the Box Office

Why do you think they would do that?

They hadn’t run headlines these last few weeks detailing how Argo was getting beat by a cartoon. Why would they suddenly run this story as if it were “news”?

There’s a good explanation for that, though I’m sure you don’t want to hear it. Hollywood is nothing more than a multi-billion dollar a year white propaganda operation and Argo is one of their favorite new pieces of glitzy shinny spin while Cloud Atlas was so disturbing to the “natural order of things” in America, no production company would touch it… it was financed and produced by a German company.

One film is about how brave and honorable the CIA is and the other film, the one which received a 10 minute standing ovation at the Toronto Film Festival… well, this is what it says:

“Our lives are not our own. We are bound to others past and present. And by each crime and every kindness we birth our future”

“There is a natural order to this world, and those who try to upend it do not fare well” – Cloud Atlas Trailer

I never promote anything on this site and I’m certainly not paid to do this but after all the time I have spent flushing out the steady stream of sophomoric, ham-handed propaganda coming out of Hollywood these days, it’s nice to sit back and present this extended trailer for a film that appears to be written at above a 6th grader’s comprehension level which would appear to present an idea wholly different that the “dog eat dog” ideology of neo-liberalism and libertarianism and corporatism that we are fed day in and day out. It’s nice every now and again, to focus on art that lifts rather than degrades. According to the directors it took them a year to get a Hollywood studio to distribute the film. It was funded by German companies… apparently no one with cash in the US wanted to make it.

From the creators of the Matrix… Cloud Atlas

I believe there is another world, a better world. I’ll be waiting for you  there
