UPDATE: Without any substantial evidence, a British paper claims an “Iranian middleman known as Mr. Ali” bought tickets for two men traveling on the stolen passports. “NBC News was not immediately able to contact Benjaporn to confirm the account.“
The tickets were booked through an Iranian middleman known as “Mr Ali” a Thai travel agent told the Financial Times newspaper (registration required).
UPDATE: The Times of Israel is reporting on the mysterious “Mr. Ali” as well. If Israel says it’s so, then it MUST be true… right?
Recent developments have left investigators baffled as too what could possibly have happened to Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.
- The floating yellow debris turned out to be some junk dumped in the drink.
- Those “potential terrorists” with the stolen passports turned out to be “other than Asian” in appearance. Of course they won’t tell you what country he’s from which probably translates to him being a State Department contractor going to China to stage a Pussy Riot style video.
- That big oil slick? Nada. Some other pollution.
So, right on cue, in the absence of a logical thesis, the mainstream media along with “high ranking unnamed sources” are starting to float ridiculousness as the solution.
Officials investigating the disappearance of a Malaysia Airlines jetliner with 239 people on board suspect it may have disintegrated in mid-flight, a senior source said on Sunday, as Vietnam reported a possible sighting of wreckage from the plane. Reuters
Yes, there you have it, it may have just vaporized itself in mid-air for no apparent reason.
uh… yeah. That’s Reuters today.
Let me put forward a different idea for a minute.
Last Wednesday, Ted Cruz appeared at a little known side event taking place at the annual CPAC convention. The event was hosted by Breitbart folks in conjunction with a lesser known group who get paid big money to theorize about an Iranian EMP attack.
An EMP attack from Iran? That event happened on Weds. Two days later, this flight goes down under circumstances that are starting to look like it was possibly an EMP attack on the plane.
In the past, this event’s usually amounted to the Center for Security Policy’s Frank Gaffney reairing charges that Grover Norquist is a simp for the Muslim Brotherhood. It’s more fascinating this year—Breitbart (which sponsored 2013’s event) has teamed up with EMPact, a group that raises awareness of the danger of possible electromagnetic pulse attacks, to put on nine hours of national security speeches. Sen. Ted Cruz had given a pretty agreeable but rote speech at CPAC. He saved his best material for a 39-minute address at the alternative event….
… But he agreed with John McCain on Iran. “When Iran describes Israel as the Little Satan, and America as the Great Satan, we have every interest to make sure they don’t acquire the weaponry to kill millions of Americans.” Cruz imagined a nightmare scenario in which Iran detonated a bomb over “Tel Aviv or New York or Los Angeles.” Detonated here, the effects of an EMP attack could kill “tens of millions of Americans.” Slate
Two days later, on Saturday, the Malaysian airliner disappeared without a trace.

Let’s say it was accidentally shot down by friendly forces conducting war games in the area. Chances are the damage to the plane would still have allowed some communications with the ground as they went down. Plus, the wreckage would be all over the sea. yes folks, much of the wreckage from a airliner does FLOAT.
So, that idea doesn’t really work. And by the same token, neither does the notion of a bomb on board for much the same reasoning.
However, if the plane went down intact, just kind of nose dived into the ocean, it may have knifed straight into the depths, carrying it’s debris field along with it to the bottom. Had the pilot successfully managed to keep the plane intact upon impact, when it went down, it would have taken the debris with it.
The flight could have been hijacked either remotely or by someone on the plane but that wouldn’t explain how it vanished from radar. The tracking system transponder could have been turned off as they were during 9/11 but the radar would still track them. And of course, they would have to have landed somewhere where a plane of that size could set down. A possibility.
Another possibility is a catastrophic electrical system failure on-board the flight. But what could have caused all of the on-board systems to crash simultaneously. Not being an aircraft designer, I seriously doubt there are no back-up systems in place for such an event.
But what could make everything on-board go out at the same time including the transponder and system controls and the radio?
Well, without being too much of a conspiracy theorist, an electromagnetic pulse weapon could do just that. Specifically, a Non-nuclear electromagnetic pulse (NNEMP) could.
Non-nuclear electromagnetic pulse (NNEMP) is a weapon-generated electromagnetic pulse without use of nuclear technology. Devices that can achieve this objective include a large low-inductance capacitor bank discharged into a single-loop antenna, a microwave generator and an explosively pumped flux compression generator. To achieve the frequency characteristics of the pulse needed for optimal coupling into the target, wave-shaping circuits and/or microwave generators are added between the pulse source and the antenna. Vircators are vacuum tubes that are particularly suitable for microwave conversion of high-energy pulses.
NNEMP generators can be carried as a payload of bombs, cruise missiles (such as the CHAMP missile) and drones, with diminished mechanical, thermal and ionizing radiation effects, but without the political consequences of deploying nuclear weapons.
The range of NNEMP weapons (non-nuclear electromagnetic pulse bombs) is much less than nuclear EMP. Nearly all NNEMP devices used as weapons require chemical explosives as their initial energy source, producing only 10−6 (one millionth) the energy of nuclear explosives of similar weight. The electromagnetic pulse from NNEMP weapons must come from within the weapon, while nuclear weapons generate EMP as a secondary effect. These facts limit the range of NNEMP weapons, but allow finer target discrimination. The effect of small e-bombs has proven to be sufficient for certain terrorist or military operations. Examples of such operations include the destruction of electronic control systems critical to the operation of many ground vehicles and aircraft. Wiki

Yes, that’s our government testing an EMP device on an airliner in 1979.

What do you think the odds are that just two days after an EMP conference is held at CPAC demonizing the Iranians, we just happen to have a situation that is starting to look more and more like an EMP device used on a commercial flight from Malaysia to China?
Of course this is just speculation. Any number of things could have happened to that flight. But the timing is a bit odd isn’t it?
We’ll just have to wait and see which way the spin doctors spin it up.
