US blocks Russia’s draft statement in UN on peaceful resolution of Bani Walid violence

from RT

The United States has blocked Russia’s draft statement on the peaceful resolution of the violence in the Libyan town of Bani Walid, which has been under siege for weeks. Russia’s statement called for a peaceful solution to the conflict.

Russia’s envoy to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, called the move “not serious,” reminding the American delegation of the deadly attack in Benghazi that claimed the lives of four US diplomats in September.

Blocking a draft statement that called to solve the country’s political problems without violence is very strange”. Churkin said. This is a case when it is difficult to explain the US delegation’s actions in rational terms.”

The statement drafted by Russia on Bani Walid called on the Libyan authorities “to take urgent steps to resolve the conflict by peaceful means and to preserve the rights of all Libyan citizens.”

He’s just a black guy, right?) ironically standing in front of a display featuring information about how the Haitians won their independence from the French.

Been there, done that. This is not a strategy that is meant to provide Haiti with any measure of sustainable development … The only reason those industries come to Haiti is because the country has the lowest wages in the region,”  Alex Dupuy, a Haiti-born sociologist who teaches at Wesleyan University in Connecticut

Haiti is “open for business” and “committed to taking all appropriate measures to make it easier for you to invest in Haiti.” Yes folks, Bill Clinton has done his job. He is remaking Haiti back into the old colonial model bringing investors from overseas to house them in factories and industrial parks paid for by the governments and the relief money that was meant for the people after the earthquake and he’s made damn sure those people don’t get fat and lazy on the whopping .31 cents per hour they are going to be paying them.

And it’s all for the good of the Haitians don’t ya know.

American “Liberals” doing what they do

You think Mitt Romney is the only vulture capitalist in this race? That’s why Obama will win; because the owners of the country understand what you do not.
