As most of you know by now, I am adamantly opposed to the wholesale privatization of the public school system and have been writing about this neoliberal project with it’s roots in the Augusto Pinochet dictatorship for quite some time. Years in fact. To me the most disgusting aspect of the neoliberal agenda which is strongly supported by the Vichy politicians on the left and the right (Arnie Duncan? Barack Obama? Rahm Emanuel? Oprah? Saving public school systems? Wake the fuck up!) is the selling off of our kids future via the privatization of public education. We cannot allow it to continue and that’s my take on it.

Yup, the clip was good. These kinds of clips sometimes do the opposite of what is intended. They act as heat sinks. People let them do the protesting for them.
Although I agree with this clip about the insanity of privatizing education like this … all the same I can’t see how anyone could support public education (brainwashing) in any way.
The public school system has one agenda … to turn out obedient, authority worshipping, punctual, zombies who have had all humanity stripped from them.
Assembly line mass produced mind control.
Look. I know that is the popular line on the public education system with the libertarians and such but you have to remember, that’s part of the campaign to have it privatized.
I was educated in the public education system as were most of the dissidents out there today. Are we brainwashed authority worshiping zombies? It depends on the school,on the teachers, on the school board. Yes there have been some attempts made to bring kids into a certain “right thinking’ mentality but when I went to school and where I went to school, I was taught to ALWAYS consider the source of any news and to consider what was to gain by telling the “news’ in the manner and slant that it was told. Dr. Locke at E.C. Glass high school, not too too long ago.
Point is, there are many good, dedicated teachers working all across the country who work hard to produce kids who can think for themselves.
And let me tell you something else, if you think the public education system is about indoctrinating kids, wait till it’s completely privatized and there is no real oversight into what they are being taught.
I think our media and political system does a much better job of turning citizens into zombies than public education does. Public education is one of the last things that corporate America cant make a shit ton of money off of, thats why its being scapegoated in our corporate media currently.
