I will share something I was looking into earlier this week regarding some connections between high-powered politicians in Colorado and Phillip Anschutz. Michael Bennett became a US Senator when he was appointed by former Colorado Governor Bill Ritter. Long before being appointed as a US Senator, Michael Bennett started his career in Colorado “crunching numbers” for the Anschutz Corp.

Michael Bennett’s brother James is the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic Monthly since 2006.
Thank you greatly for that thread of information. So, basically the histories are complex and provide plausible deniability despite you and I and anyone with critical thinking skills knowing damn well that their is massive corruption just under that thin veil of legitimacy.
Without sounding like a violent thug, I would still put money on these guys being deeply disturbed if citizens like us were to simply ask to speak with them in person and plainly state our suspicions that they are engaged in nefarious acts. I’ll bet any interactions like I describe would have them in church that Sunday and avoiding any corrupt acts for at least a couple weeks.
I believe citizens could request a meeting (possibly under pretense of something else) and then confront them on the misdealings that are transpiring in their state under their watch.
It does not look good for James Holmes.

At least they mentioned doing DNA on the notebook, although do you think if anyone else’s was there, would even know? Prosecutors want to be present when defense looks at notebook, but they denied defense requests for the same courtesy on other things.

And why do they want to DNA him again?

Didn’t they show Holmes that notebook? Has he handled it at all?
The only question is will he get the death penalty/life in prison w/o parole, OR, will he be found to be insane and sent off to the rubber maid room for 20 years. If the court finds him competent to stand trial, he’ll be found guilty, as the evidence is overwhelming.

The evidence is overwhelming alright. Overwhelmingly against the prosecution. Several reasonable doubts exist in this case. It’s just a matter of whether or not the defense actually wants to do its job.
If Public Defenders ignore evidence in favor of defendant, can’t they be dis-barred and sued?
Wish we knew what his parents are planning.
You can file a complaint, but these are the “highest” public defenders, so I don’t think it would do anything.
And unfortunately, don’t think his parents seem to care at all, which baffles me. It has been long enough that if they were seeking alternate council, they could have it in place.
But I also don’t think they’ve been seen since 7/20 when his dad was at the airport, and friends were seen coming to/from their home. His mom is a nurse… wouldn’t she need to still go to/from work? Wouldnt some news source see them somewhere? There are no “anonymous sources” or “close friends/coworkers” quoting the parents, nothing. ( And there is no gag order on them, if they wanted to speak out in their son’s defense.) Their ability to completely vanish is actually concerning.
I wish some lawyer could be persuaded, but I don’t know how to go about it, and not sure if they could see him — wouldn’t he need to fire the current ones?

That makes no sense at all. His parents have money. I’m beginning to think maybe that theory that this guy isn’t even the real james Holmes is beginning to sound more plausible. Holmes mom is a psychiatrist, father is working high up in government, and they are bluebloods that can trace their lineage back to the Mayflower. So maybe there’s some other strange twist we don’t know about and this other james Holmes they have been showing us is just some guy who’s had his brain fried and is permanently on Mars. It sure looked that way to me when they showed him that 1 time in court, which was over 83 hours since the shooting. They said on the news he was on Vicodin. First off Vicodin doesn’t make you go Looney Tunes, secondly it wears off in 8 hours.
All I know for sure is that many of the witnesses and victimes they showed us were fake. That girl with the neck wound who supposedly bled out all over the sidewalk? Her neck scar looked fake and totally dry the next day! That’s impossible. The bandages would still be on for a week at least.

I’m not sure what to make of the parents. I will say that they have left an incredibly bad taste in my mouth thus far.
However, I have to wonder about some of the things being reported about their occupations, income, or something. I’ve seen his dad on LinkedIn. But, you’d think that Holmes would know what his parents’ income is, right? I can’t see any reason he’d knowingly fabricate an income for them. On his application to Texas A&M, he clearly stated the family’s gross annual income of $100,000 to $149,999. I live in Georgia, where the cost of living is much less and, as a single mom with practically no child support, I almost make as much as BOTH of his parents combined? And the elder Holmes is obviously (to a writer like me who has no affection for numbers) a flippin’ number genius.
I’m not sure what to make of that other than if Holmes was reporting it correctly, with one kid already going through college and another just starting, even with scholarships, I’d assume that there isn’t a whole lot of extra money around at the moment.
I did wonder, however, if perhaps the paternal grandparents left some sort of trust to the two Holmes kids. They were their only grandchildren, according to the grandmother’s obituary. You’d think she might have left something in the way of a college fund for each. I realize that James had that scholarship for Colorado, however, on all applications he said that if he didn’t get a fellowship, funds, a work grant, etc., that he’d still attend. So, perhaps he planned to borrow or use some inheritance? Just throwing that out there. His grandmother passed away in 2010, I believe.

I’ve been following “Thomas Brinkley” on YouTube. He’s had some great insight on this topic and some well put together videos. However, lately his videos have gotten a little out there; ie people are out to get him. Anyone here see his videos and can anyone comment on them. Thanks. Weeks or months ago, I made a post and a video to merely call attention to the couple who allegedly witnessed the badly wounded cop being transported away from the crime scene. Five minutes later, I received a curt message firmly declaring them absolute “disinfo agents” with no explanation or info to support such a statement, and this dude promptly made a video to “call out” these witnesses, who have caught ceaseless flack for their story ever since the shooting occurred and who certainly did not deserve to be publicly derided even more. Cut to weeks later, and the next thing I know, this dude who publicly and rather recklessly dismissed these witnesses as liars and “disinfo agents,” now claims to have scheduled an interview with one of them. WTH? That’s about the time when I had to take a brief Internet vacation, as my aggravation, not just at this but at the many issues surrounding this entire case, was getting the better of me.
But in any event, I guess my point is, all of us have something to contribute, and everyone’s hard work and focus and efforts are valuable. No single person has a monopoly on the truth, though. I think the truth is likely scattered amongst the hundreds or thousands of citizen comments, blogs, videos, and articles that have surfaced since the shooting, and much of it has yet to be unearthed.
I personally know “targeted individuals,” and I also know people who claim to be “targeted individuals” to lend credibility and interest and intrigue to their stories. I have no idea whether TB is targeted. That’s all I’m saying about that.
I think something isn’t quite right with that Thomas Brinkley guy. I brought up jamie R0hrs to him today on Youtube and he didn’t even know who he was! That’s the guy who was interviewed about 50 times on all news channels who supposedly left his baby, 4 yr old daughter, and mother of his children behind, jumped off the balcony, ran out to his car and drove away. How could Brinkley not know who that guy was? He mentions Seeger, Danes, Ramos, and has made a ton of vids. I haven’t made any vids at all. Can anyone explain this? I find it very odd.
Linda, this case is so complex and has so many facets, to fault someone for not recognizing someone you think is a main witness is silly, at best. I sift recognize Jamie’s name when mentioned, though I do know his story. I’m guessing when you said Danes, you meants (Corbin) Dates–though I think there may have been one article where they called him Corbin Danes.
Anyways, back to the couple (Jamie & fiancee) who left their baby, have you seen the AP video where the mother is seems to be taking directions from the visible earpiece? In summation, I think the witnesses you listed are much more questionable and shady than Thomas Brinkley.
I was a fan of Thomas Brinkley’s channel on youtube, he has some good discussion of the Sikh temple shooting as well. Should be noted he misconstrued the details someone pointed out in one of his videos- he was playing stupid and totally spun, it wasn’t a misquote, he totally what this guy was saying into dis-info and even added the dis-info into his description of the video, the guy requested he fix the description but Thomas never did.
For someone who’s Google account has the headline “FUCK ISRAEL” he posts Alex Jones videos all the time- Alex Jones as much as he tries to convince his listeners he’s on the front lines and such he refuses to touch base on Zionist affairs unless the guest brings up the topic. Take last week for example his interview with Dr. Pieczenik, Jones cut the interview at the most crucial points and cancelled on him this week- My question is how can this guy Thomas Brinkley practice such discernment with this aurora case and plug Alex Jones all the time?

Honestly looks like they were trying to put a photo out where he looks more like his school photo — so they can to stop the comments its not the same person. They never release a second booking shot, so why for him? To compound the crazy theory.
I’ve never known eyebrows to grow back so fast — and thick. Not a orange one left….they look waxed.
Its a combination of the wide eyes and tight lipped smile. The smile though is just his usual smile (take a look at the pre-arrest passport type photo of him). The wide eyes? Either they have him medicated, its a result of being kept in solitary and the stress of the trial or he’s actually lost it.
Or, a further (perhaps most likely option) it was one of several and they chose they one that looked craziest. Bear in mind that most people who use an instant photo booth usually end up with at least one photo they wouldn’t want anyone else to see because they look weird in it.
I’m more curious why the photo is being released at all. If the media aren’t allowed cameras in the court why are the sheriff’s office releasing recent photos of him?
For the same reason law enforcement told the media about the notebook. To further convict him in the court of public opinion. They know they don’t have a chance of a conviction unless they can brainwash every potential juror.

It’s actually fairly easy to compose a whole face from “suitable” parts between 10-20 shots of a face shot from the same angle and under the same light..
But, I agree with Gray’s suggestion of a specifically picked “bad photo” for the purpose. Even then, there are many subtle moves for “helping” facial expressions that can greatly enhance the desired effect… Like pushing already wide open eyes to a freakier level, playing with the shape of the mouth to transform a smile in to a smirk, playing with the eyebrow angles and location, as well as darkening the eyebrows and giving them pointy endings to enhance the “evil” factor, etc.
Also, compared to his orange hair mugshot, he has either put on 10-15 pounds in the slammer, or they are shoving a lot of medication in to this kid… His face looks inflated (which, by the way is one of the telltale signs of photoshop manipulation) as you see less and less of his bone structure…
But, all in all, he just looks like a guy on amphetamines, coke or LSD, trying to force a smile… Perhaps prompted by the photographer… Who knows… One thing’s for sure… “they” really liked the way James looks in this photo to be releasing a suspect’s photo for no other good reason…
Spot on Lilaleo–or at least in the sense that that was my girlfriends first reaction to seeing the photo (photoshop, drugs). She made the point that they’re trying to make him look like the combination of his earlier photos and the original mug shot.
And yeah, it’s either food or drugs that have puffed his face up that much (or photoshop).
You’re right about him packing on the pounds in the photo. This is confusing. I mean, I guess he could buy a ton of commissary junk food, but one would think that he would lose weight in jail from the stress. Plus, I doubt that the jail cafeteria has an all-you-can-eat buffet.

I might be divulging too much info about myself today but, although I don’t have much experience in being incarcerated, I have actually done a mandatory military service where I come from… And, when you are in an environment that is totally void of any source of pleasure, even that disgusting cafeteria food becomes something one looks forward to. After all, he has been in there for two months now… No matter how intense his experience and situation might be (whether actually guilty or not) two months is just about enough time to hit a certain level of normalcy…
Also, even though his general look in the orange hair mugshot fits in with his previous photos that we have seen as far as his weight is concerned, some of it might have been due to living an unhealthy student life, feeding on scraps and pizza, and the use of recreational drugs and/or more serious prescription drugs.
Is all this useful information? Maybe yes, maybe no…
I think his weight is somewhat important to determine his mindset, general attitude towards life and his current situation… As well as, once again, drugs that he might be using or being administered. Someone who is sane and who is aware that he has been duped and used as a patsy would certainly have a harder time gobbling up food…
So many darn unknowns…. Maybe they are drugging him with spiked brownies…
As well, I’ve considered the effects that extreme stress and drugs may have had on his endocrine system, and particularly the adrenals. A high release of cortisol can produce a “moon face.” This is also seen in folks who’ve been placed on synthetic corticosteriods. So, I guess that’s one additional explanation. Still, I don’t think we can dismiss the photoshop angle entirely.
I highly doubt it’s from solitary confinement. When they showed him in court on TV, he couldn’t even answer a yes or no question when the judge asked him if he ‘understood the charges’. Someone else answered for him. Yet the media says Holmes answered.
My ex-wife worked in a psych unit for years and she’d be called out to different sites by police to do a psych evaluation to see if that person needed to be put on a 72 hour hold. THis was about 10 years ago in the LA area, so I don’t know if theyve changed that law. It would be suspicious if they did as it had been done that way for decades. Seems like they’ve changed lots of laws though in recent years.

The post over at ATS by telemetry are complete BUNK. He or she is a fool on this topic of what they call a ‘gasmask’. They state the tube is a “hydration tube” and go on to explain some crap about how to gear-up so you dont get tangled with the water hose? What a rube. The ‘tube’ that they are refering to is a high pressure hose connecting the air reserve bottle on the ‘backpack’ frame, to the regulator connected to the facepiece. The regulator reduces the pressure and provides the wearer with a positive pressure atmosphere inside the facepiece.
If anyone is relying on this telemetery person’s comments about what is clearly an SCBA, then you’re in for a big let down. His post concerning the SCBA on the sidewalk (driver’s side front) are pure garbage. Sorry. It”s a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus, period.
After looking at many post, youtube vids,etc, it appears to me that the SCBA at the front drivers side of the car is a Scott SCBA with a Scott brand facepiece. There are quite a few differences between the Scott and MSA brand facepiece, the most obvious is where the regulator attaches to the facepiece. On the Scott brand the regulator clicks in with a quarter turn motion and is attached to the clear plastic facepiece whereas the MSA brand has a black attachment point that is oblong with a series of vent openings just above the regulator connection point.
I said before, I believe that the responding Fire Dept crews may have lent their SCBAs to PD (to enter the theater) or used the SCBAs themselves to help remove victims after the ‘all clear’ (in terms of an active shooter) was given.
At approx 2:40 in the one video you can hear PD making a request and I qoute, “get us some damn gasmasks for theater 9, we cant get in it”. In such a situation, FD would have surely helped PD don their(FD) SCBAs to enter the theater. Who knows why that SCBA was placed there, but in reality personnel shed gear at times not thinking about the whole scene including being in the middle of a crime scene. Just food for thought.
I’ll tell you one thing, James Holmes was not sitting in that car with a SCBA on. He would have had to have the passenger seat in a reclining position or he would have been eating the dash,imo.
Look at the pics. There’s a ‘gasmask’, not an SCBA , right at the rear passenger tire, that should coincide, with PD breaking a window (glass on the ground), pulling out Holmes, restraining Holmes and removing HIS gasmask, that he was wearing inside the car.

I never heard anyone question whether that scba one was relevant. I always assumed it was left by FD. I’m not sure if you were aware of the other two. One was found in front of the dumpster in that group of gear there. Another was found on the corner, next to what appears to be a folding knife in photos. Then the knife-looking object is not shown to be there in other photos of the corner gas mask. I believe the one by the dumpster is 3M brand. The one on the corner, I have not been able to identify yet.
Can you confirm that the object next to the graduation hat is a gas mask or not? I’ve seen the object on the Dateline footage, but haven’t been able to confirm it as a mask yet, haven’t had time.

Look, what I’m trying to clear up is that… the SCBA with it’s facepiece, next to Holmes’ car driverside, is not a ‘gasmask’ per say. Now as for the mask at the passenger rearside and at the theater corner (back ), they are what would be considered a gas mask w/filter.
The “facepiece” connected to the SCBA at front driver’s side is not a gasmask. It is the facepiece that works in conjunction with the air bottle and regulator for that set-up. If you google Scott SCBA you’ll see what I’m talking about.

If you’re talking about ‘gasmasks’, then yes I’m aware. I just had seen that people were confusing then conflating an SCBA to be a ‘gasmask’, they are not the same.
I just wanted to state that, IMO the latest mugshot is a result of one or more of the following…
1. Photo is manipulated and contains the overall descriptive features, but has been altered to contain a false expression.
2. Numerous digital photos were shot in rapid succession as Holmes was standing their and may have opened his eyes widely to gain focus and stretch his face, which shows the fatigue of the experience. They could have chosen this one out of literally hundreds.
3. Holmes has been transitioned from one specialized drug to the next, the sequence of which and the effect on his mind having led to what we see in the photo.
4. (Least likely) He decided to make a mockery of the process by showing a crazy expression in defiance. We can hope.
I think #3 above is the most likely scenario, but also the most sad and upsetting. It could indicate that hopes for his recovery from the experience is fading.
QUESTION TO GROUP: Is it common in cases like this for secondary mugshots to be taken and distributed, especially considering the tight constraint on evidence in the case? It’s outrageous!
I’m about to embark on a new video in which I create an exacting recreation of this wildly evocative photo of Holmes. Except, in my version it will be Dan Oates making a funny face. The sooner we wack-a-mole this sick tactic the better.

Actually, in the future, photographic evidence will not be admissible in court, or it will be highly scrutinized if it is. Remember that movie Rising Sun, based on the Micheal Crichton book? It’s based around image (video) fakery. That was in like 1995, almost 20 years ago. I’d imagine technology has advanced in that field since then.

Yes, he seems to be hard headed, set in his ways, and at times quite cocky… But, his contributions to the Aurora citizen investigation since the very beginning of it all are simply undeniable.
Like most “theorists” trying to uncover the truth, he also seems to have a big ego and wants to be the right one, the smart(est) one who figured it all out… Which, by default makes all other opinions wrong. At least to him, anyway… But when it comes to the Aurora shooting, even though I don’t remember ever having agreed with his conclusions myself, I kinda believe that he might very well be ONE OF THE most knowledgeable people out there about every detail of the incident. I have been following your blog only since Aurora… So, I might not be familiar enough with you or chris p. But I can easily say I have been reading every line of this blog ever since… I can’t make sense… Really… Is there built up resentments that is causing this? Or was it really those last few cocky comments he has made?
I am even more baffled by the fact that no one here has reacted to this in any way, pro or con… Among the thousands of posts about aurora, so many factual question people had received first a reply by someone saying “ask chris p.” and eventually followed by a reply by chris p. offering everyone exact details, links, transcripts, and yes, sometimes his wrong analysis.

I tried to make it clear why I banned him. He was abusive to a reader and commenter here, he constantly posted off topic videos of his own, he pushed highly questionable material and theories on the site, and then he brought up the “video fakery” disinfo from the Truth movement.
Look around this site. I’ve been doing this kind of thing for a very long time. People like him frequent ATS, GLP, PP, and other open comment venues all the time. They are distracting though sometimes they contribute and so I let him stay. But his exchange with the other commenter here today and his mentioning of “video fakery” and his claims that readers should respect him as “the” authority on this subject, was a bit too much for me today.

No matter which way they cut it, there was a guy standing at the entrance of theater 9 to get people as they ran out. At the same time the first gunman in front of the screen started shooting.

My understanding is Theater 8 was extremely smokey as if a bomb went off in theater 8. People try to run out but someone is there warning them not to run out because there was a shooter in the Lobby. It would not be easy to keep people in theater 8 I would imagine.

also, if he was covered head to toe in gear including gloves, where and how could he have left dna? the prosecution said they only got a small sample from him originally for the database. again it would obviously had been enough to get a profile. any dna they “find” after could be compared to that profile stored in the comp. again why do they need more of his dna? strange
also, if we are saying he went through the entire booking process again…that’s more fingerprints. how much forensic evidence do they need to plant?
@Derrick Smithers: It is absolutely common practice to snap a new booking photo when charges are added, it is part of the booking process, and when new charges come up, suspects are re-booked on the new charges, and the whole process, including finger printing, is performed. It does, however, seem like odd timing. They already have a stack of charges and multiple counts against him. Ultimately, it points to a weak prosecution throwing more out there hoping something will stick.
The prosecution added ten more charges and amended the 16 original charges. The amending has nothing to do with the re-booking, but when ten more charges are added, Arapahoe County must re-book him on the new charges.
Although nothing is common about this case, nor does any of it make sense, this part at the least, does make sense, as I have worked first hand in a jail.

Curious about all these new charges of “attempted murder” …. technically, shouldn’t every single person present in theatre be included? Do they even know the name of everyone there? Probably not, as interviewing each one doesn’t suit their needs.
I thought the same thing D.D., why isn’t Holmes charged with attempted murder for everyone in theater 9 who survived? My guess is that that may make the prosecutions case more cumbersome (if this was a “real” case) and it’s probably best just to lay charges on those visibly injured.
I would still love to compile a spreadsheet listing all the actors (for lack of a better term) in this case, documenting their claims, their internet profiles and other useful info. A resource to turn to so we can easily reference who said what, instead of having to re-search out news articles and whatever else is on Google.
Like for Jay Jenkins entry, it would say pretty much nothing except that he is listed on some articles as a victim and he was on JH’s original charge sheet but his name has been removed and replaced with . There seems to be no other info to determine who Jay Jenkins may actually be. Also, it could state that Jay Jenkin’s is the real name of rapper Young Jeezy who often collaborates with Lil Wayne (who released his video “My Homies Still” with skeletons in theater seats just days before actual massacre).
I just remembered a thought I had last night as I was reading myself for bed; how much evidence do we have to compile to achieve our goal/s (whatever they may be)?
I latched onto this case early on because I felt that this operation was so poorly executed that this was a great opportunity to expose those operating “behind the curtain”. We’re 60+ days into this case now and new leads and new info has really tapered off. I know there are still lots of rocks to be turned, but somebody’s comments yesterday eventually got me thinking, what will it take to expose those involved and/or “save” James Holmes from these evil people? I, myself, already find it hard to find time to pursue my passions while still balancing work, relationships & general life, so this has got me thinking; should I really continue playing amateur detective on a case in a foreign country in which I’m not sure any amount of evidence would even change anything.
I’m not trying to inject any pessimism into this group, but I do need to inject some realism into my life.
I can expound my reasons as to why I think so if anyone is interested, but I feel there is no amount of evidence, maybe short of a clear and indisputable video of the crime itself, that can have any effect on the trial if a conventional, legal, or official avenue is chosen to present them.
If I had to pick a plan of action that might create some level of strain on the official narrative and the compromised trial, and force their hands to at best provide some answers, and at worst come up with more wiggly disinfo, it’d be this:
Compile a short list of brief and precise questions (5 would be too few, anything over 10 would be too many) to point out the worst offenders within the official narrative. Needless to say, these questions have to be extremely well thought out, preferably with the cooperation and oversight of a non-compromised and smart legal professional.
Start a quick fundraiser campaign (like kickstarter) to raise enough money to place a full page ad in a national newspaper, preferably including their online version. Ask the questions in big bold letters, without commentary… Just a brief intro to explain why these questions are being asked. And a web address at the bottom for those who want to “learn more”…
Prepare a simple but comprehensive website to expand on these questions and provide factual info and links, and perhaps phone numbers and email addresses of authorities, congress(wo)men, etc. whom concerned people should contact to spread the word.
Then hope for the best.
Provided that the response is promising, a possible second stage could be to have a 2-page ad this time, where one of the pages can include possibly thousands of signatures collected through the site…

I’ve been following along with Willy’s articles regarding the Innocence PsyOp and I do appreciate having a resource such as him to turn to to provide an objective viewpoint on the current events transpiring around the world.
I think part of the attraction for myself to the Aurora case is that it seems much more cut & dry than the operations taking place in Syria & Libya. Once geopolitics enters the equation, unfortunately huge swaths of the population “switch off”, thus trying to relay any information to them is futile.
Investigating this alone is almost impossible and even harder is remaining positive and focused in this sad state of affairs- Good news is all hope is not lost since local newspapers and blogs in the Denver area have been more sympathetic toward the alternative theories and those who refuse to accept the official narrative. Although when browsing through the comments the citizens of Colorado are basically responding like ‘WTF?’ Completely and totally dumb-founded to the basically revelations in the case. Perhaps even more troubling, some are even cancelling subscriptions for reporting “conspiracy theories”.

I just can’t understand how a high tech facility like Arapahoe County jail is which is according to what i have read known across the country…how are we supposed to believe that women and men share the same facilities..including housing a woman directly across from where a male is showering..doesn’t happen. They house like 1500 people, they can’t be separated??

Denver Health has a ward totally separated from the rest used to house inmates with both physical and mental issues. They serve Arapahoe County as well as other jurisdictions. Wouldn’t these people be housed there??
Lastly (sorry to ramble) the women diagram 7 cells. So, those 7 men AND women have to be housed together in that multi million dollar facility??
I think there could be grains of truth in this story. Perhaps he said”yeah that’s me” in the shower because he was being sarcastic and tired of people calling him a “baby killer” maybe he said “I’ll beat this” because he believes he’s innocent. Maybe the comment about him having pictures of himself on the wall is an embellishment. Maybe he really is an f’d up sob and it’s all true. Who knows? My opinion about the rebooking is that it doesn’t make sense. The booking procedure is done to get them in the system. The police believe that there is enough evidence that you committed a crime. When you are booked there is no discussion of your charge. They simply want all of your important info including physical characteristics place of residence aliases etc and of course your fingerprints and a mugshot. Its done to get you in the system to identify you while you are there and in the future. It is then up to the DA whether they want to indict you or not. There is a time limit they have. Some people who are arrested and booked are never indicted and eventually released. Most people are arrested, booked, then indicted. Holmes was formally charged what a couple days after the arrest.
I believe it was used as an excuse to get another photo of him out there..to further taint any jury pool.
Has anyone from the theater..workers, ticket takers, people in the movie come forward and say i recognize him? With the orange hair he would have been even more remarkable. Could you imagine being the 18 year old kid who tore his ticket stub? Id say something.
The extra booking photo is not outside the norm. I speak from experience, as I went to bail a friend out of jail for DUI. Just moments before I got to the jail, they were taking him back to booking to get a new mugshot, fingerprints and re-book him even though he was being held on the DUI charge already. They had amended the charge to DUI and leaving the scene of an accident, so they had to book him again. It is standard procedure. Not to say I don’t believe JH may be innocent, but this aspect is barking up the wrong tree and better resources can be exhausted elswhere.
Now, that’s not to say that the prosecution didn’t want a new photo out there, so they amended the charges solely so they could let it run it’s course and throw a new booking photo out there, knowing how the procedure is.

So I just went by the Theatre. I looked for cameras and didn’t see any. I noticed on the way in that just about every intersection had cameras. The movie theatre is fenced in And has several police cars stationed inside the fenced in area. Were the cameras taken down or were there never any cameras set up on the outside of the theatre. He’s appartment building has also been sealed off. All the residents have been kicked out and the area is fenced off.
Whoa! The entire apartment building? That’s the first I’ve heard of that. Very interesting. I think I recall that the other apartment building that had the arson fire had cameras in the building and outside. I wonder if his apartment building had them as well?
One neighbor in the building, the oriental guy, was interviewed and spoke of how friendly JH was until the day of the shooting. It was the neighbor whose son helped JH get his bike out the door for class sometimes. In any case, he remarked that he saw JH that day and that he was acting unusual — cold or unfriendly — I can’t recall his exact words. I’ll have to look for the article. He said that he saw JH taking a few large black nylon bags out to his car (which we can now assume were bags with guns in them).
I say all of this since another woman reported she saw JH earlier in the day running with someone — that should be on some video from any number of apartment buildings, businesses, etc. that they passed on the street to and from wherever they ran to.
And, then there was the video interview that I vaguely recall of a woman saying that JH was in the parking lot of the apartment building with another guy and that the guy was trying to “hide” his face. Hide his face from people living there? Or, from security cameras? At some point, JH went up to his apartment and came back down while the man waited in the parking lot for him. This was also the day of the shooting. I’d assume that the man in the parking lot and the man running with Holmes are the same person.
I’d love to know who that man was. I bet there’s plenty of security video out there that would show us.
As for the theater, at one time, it was reported that there were investigators on the roof of the building. I remember that it was insinuated that they were on the roof taking cameras down. They also spent some time on the roof of Holmes’ apartment building. Perhaps taking cameras down from there, too? (speculation)
If there are no cameras for us to see, it makes it easier for them to claim that there weren’t any and thus no footage.
Would they take down cameras to try to throw questioning citizens off the trail? Don’t know. I guess it is a possibility.

Did you know that the FBI started taking the video cameras off the Murrah Building the same day it was bombed? People were still buried and first responders were digging to save others and someone in the FBI was there with a ladder taking the cameras down. true story

Still can’t find the other video. It was an interview with Abigail Quezada. I’m finding a part of the original interview but it leaves off the second part where Quezada talks of the Holmes and another man running down the street and then Holmes going up to the apartment while the man waited in the parking lot and attempting to shield his face.
Other posts I’ve found have said that the video has been pulled. The one they are speaking of is a report on the Greta Van Sustern show. The video I originally saw was the actual live interview they did with her. I can’t find that anywhere! It aired live during the time that the media was camped out by Holmes’ apartment waiting for the bombs to be diffused.

I found video cameras on the front of the building in early pictures. Someone tried to say they were water downspouts but that makes no sense because the scuppers don’t pump the water up and over the parapet walls on top of the front of the building and then pour water down the middle of the front facade of the buildings. They were cameras. I also found an old Google street view of the back wall of the building which had a camera on it shooting straight down the entire back of the theater. the gas mask on the corner looks like it would have been dropped directly below where it was. I don’t know if that one was still there since the street view was from a couple years ago, but I do know that Century 16 damn sure had some kind of video monitoring system. We just haven’t seen it and likely we won’t
I remembered seeing photos of the cameras. I’m not surprised to see them gone I just wanted to be sure they were there. There were video cameras still at he’s apartment building btw. He lived right across the street from the school so he probably rode hes bike everyday. It’s alarming how many cameras and how much of a police,security, and military presence surronds this area. In fact every few miles or so in the Denver area you are passing by a toll both where u plates and probably your face are scanned. Thanks to wily and everybody else for staying on top of this case.

I also found it interesting that Jh’s appartment building and other buildings and stores around him were very seedy to say the least. The campus like I said was literally across the street from him. IMO part of the M.O is to use this event as cover for a massive redevelopment project surrounding Anschutz medical campus.

Its interesting to see that there are two lawsuits filed against Cinema for lax security. Off course Cinema is refusing to comment on their procedures. It seems odd that there weren’t any guards on duty that night. There had to be a tremendous amount of people there that night. One theater alone held 300+ people. Also theater workers are constantly walking through the theater checking doors etc. Also because they shared a parking lot with the mall what about those mall cops that drive around checking things and being nose? It just doesn’t make sense, especially because there’s been alot of crime at the mall including a shooting back in 2005.
The mall also seems to want to distance themselves from the theater. A Burlington Post article said that the theater used to be on the list of businesses for the mall. When I tried to open their link to that I got an error message. After the shooting the theater is no longer listed on the mall’s directory. The mall even put out a statement saying that the shooting had no affect on the people visiting the mall. The story also states that even the mall employees are told not to talk to the media.
Oh, there is also a police mini station at the mall. Though they close when the mall does it shows you the concern for safety.

Interesting, too, that at least one or two witnesses reported seeing “rentacops” that night. If Cinemark admits to not having security, then that begs the question, who were the “rentacops?” Could one have been the officer who was reported by Youtuber ReignofCrimson and his wife to have been shot? Then again, if Cinemark claims that it DID have security that night, it makes one wonder where these individuals were and what they did when the shooting went down…
one other thing.. why were so many people shot in The leg? I know people were shot elsewhere but it seems odd that given the circumstances people would be shot in The leg. with people crouching behind seats how did he shoot their leg? If they were running why aim at their legs? It just seems strange to me..the type of wounds and where some of them were.

Let's get this straight Telemetry…You're Wrong. If you'll take the time to research the facepiece of a Scott SCBA all your speculation and questions will be answered. What you state is a "filter canister", isn't. There is no 'filter' on that facepiece. It's a VOX, that's a voice amplifier. On the Scott SCBA facepiece, on the right hand side is a port for the adding of a voice amplifier. Truth, look it up. A port in the center of the mask is for the connection of the pressure regulator, hence the high pressure hose coming from the composite bottle that contains 4500 psi of compressed air, if that is a 45 minute rated bottle. They come in at different rated capacities. The whole system operates on a principle of positive pressure inside the facepiece, thus the regulator reduces the high pressure and maintains a positive low pressure atmosphere inside the facepiece.
When I read your post at ATS, to me it did not seem to be speculation, more like disinformation, maybe I mis-judged.
I've used MSA and Scott SCBAs for over 22 years. I have a bit of first hand knowledge of a SCBA when I see one.

hi feff. Jordan tweet that “this is going to be the worst night of my life.” The person who posted the video claimed he posted it at 12:28 San Antonio which is 11:28 Denver ie before the shooting. A check of Twitter shows the time of the tweet to be 3:28..clearly enough time after the tweet.
In her video she also has him announcing his sisters death at 1:49am. Using the time difference that would be about the time of the shooting. How is that possible? I didn’t check for that tweet on Twitter.
Im working on my phone so its hard to see the screen she is looking at on her computer. It just seems her times are way off. Jordans actions seemed unusual but i think they all happened post shooting.
I’m the person who posted the video and I responded to you on Youtube. You can relax, it wasn’t me who marked your posts as spam. In fact, I just marked them as “not spam.” I do find “lying” accusation uncalled for considering I took screenshots of what the times were I was referring to. I also posted a video today showing you that those are the times that show up on my end. Maybe it’s because I’m in Canada, I don’t know.
I apologize about the possible “lying.” In my comment I said that I really liked some of your videos..like the ones that question the lack of blood. There should be more pics of blood on the ground, emts bringing people out, etc. So it just confused me when your time didn’t match when I checked Twitter. Just to back up your videos showing the lack of blood… I work for a veterinarian. This last weekend we had a German Shepherd come in who had stepped on a bottle. He was bleeding profusely and only one paw was affected. There was blood by their car, a trail leading in though he was on a gurney, all over the lobby, and in the hallway and treatment room. The techs had blood on them from picking him up. The dog was a mess too. All this for one dog with one paw affected. Imagine 70 people with gunshots.
Exactly. An interesting point about a trail of blood even though he was on a gurney. Bonnie Kate was supposedly spewing blood, yet there are no trails leading out of any of the front theatre doors. The pictures don’t match with what went on in that theatre. When you look at the pictures of the parking lot, the sidewalks, the front and back of the theatre, it does not look like a place where various staging areas were set up to handle a huge amount of bloody gunshot victims.
You are forgetting that most of the fatally wounded were still in the theater…. and no pictures were allowed to be taken of that bloody scene… and I am glad of that….with due respect for the victims and their families….
also a dog does not have hands to grip a wound…. to stop blood flow like humans do….. also humans had on clothes that absorbed much of the blood flow to the lessor wounds…
also a piece of sharp glass leaves a ragged wound that bleeds more openly …..and a frightened dog will struggle more…..
also you did not get to see the emergency crew’s hands and clothes that may have shown blood…. and besides there was a lot of blood on the back pavement area…
also the wounded that made it out the front…. they walked across the carpeted lobby…no one took videos of that floor….
and when the people walked out they were immediately escorted to area of assistance….and videos only were showing the crowds and movement of people… you do see people walking out with bloody clothing..

As for the differences in the timestamps. When you see the times from that night on Jordan’s Twitter on your screen, what time do they show, and what time zone are you in? You said you saw 3:28 for the “worst day of my life” tweet? On my end, it shows as 12:28 am. My understanding is that all the times show up in whatever time zone you are in. I am in the Eastern time zone. So 12:28 am July 20 is the time it shows on my screen. Jordan was in Texas at the time of that tweet. San Antonio time is one hour behind my time which would have made it 11:28 pm his time. I could just be confusing myself at this point, and have this all wrong. I don’t know. If this is correct, 12:28 MY time, would have been 10:28 pm, July 19, Colorado time because they are two hours behind my time.
Hi Carolyn Im in the eastern time zone too. I just don’t get it. Stories, times, everything changes. I feel like Im in the twilight zone sometimes on this. @ …..Its not that I want to see more blood….but the aerial footage of the entrance of the theaterof does not support a mass killing inside the theater where 58 people recieved gunshot wounds….the sidewalk is impeccably clean….the rear of the theater where supposedly at least 9 victims were moved by either EMT or police shows no forensic evidence to support that they were there as there should be blood all over the place…when in fact there is only one blood trail leading into the theater…so how do so 58 injured with gunshot wounds leave a theater without leaving one drop of blood???
Well, for one thing, all wounded victims did not receive gunshot wounds. Many received buckshot wounds… buckshot scatters and hits more targets and leaves a less severe wound.
Gunshot or rifle … leaves larger and more probable fatal wounds…
I would guess that the severely injured inside the theater were hit with bullets….
I also think that many of you that question the fact that people died in the Aurora shooting, are just dis-info fact confusers….
these Aurora threads uncovered many serious questions about the event…. and maybe the commentators here have revealed all there is to reveal… it is now up to the courts and the defenders to do their jobs…. we can’t do anymore…

@jan10 i agree with some of what you say. Alot of the victims were still inside. However in the Bonnie Kate video the camera does pan to the ground and there is no blood where she had been laying or later on the sidewalk she was carried down. Also in the video of people running out of the theater the floor is shown.. Somebody said you have to start with what I see. That’s just what I see. Also its kind of unusual that there aren’t any footprints in the blood trail around back at first glance. All that said I am just stating what I see.
Question for anyone. I was reading another blog about the first police reports. Someone stated that the very first description of the suspects on the police scanner was two men fleeing the scene with black backpacks. True?

Because I started the question about the apparent lack of blood in the videos and pictures I feel like your comment was directed partly at me. “Blood suckers”, “Confused disinfo agents”…uhh No. Anybody will tell you that you have to start with what you see and use common sense. My common sense tells me at a huge mass shooting there should be blood on the ground. My eyes aren’t seeing it. That creates a problem. Do I know the solution…no. That’s what these forums are for. People bounce ideas and theories off one another. This case is so messed up no one knows the solution I venture. Throw some ideas my way about their being only one trail of blood…why they blood doesn’t not appear to have foot prints in it. Don’t make people feel bad for saying what they see. Just saying.

Brad….I agree with you…forensics do not lie however the mainstream media and people do……I have posted repeatedly about the lack of blood around the theatre….the available forensic evidence does not support a mass shooting inside the theater as there should be blood trails, bloody footprints, pools of blood, blood stains etc everywhere..
The forensic evidence that could remove all doubt as to what really happened inside the theater we are not being shown….. Like the CCTV footage, cell phone video from inside, there was no Live TV News coverage??……no photos from the inside showing bullet casings, holes in the walls, bloodied carpet, etc….Any good investigator will tell you the forensics in this case do match the storyline……what really happened?? I do not know…..but like you just making an obvious observation….

Claiming that there was “no blood” in the front of the building is counter productive on many levels. First of all, there is no way to know how much blood was in the lobby since the floors are carpeted I believe and of course, the blood would soak into it. Secondly, the 58 or so people wounded were mainly wounded by bird shot or flying shrapnel from bullets hitting walls and things and those wounds would be small and not bleed that much. Lastly, we don’t know what the crime scene looked like the next morning. Not many videos or pictures of the front of the building as most focused on the rear of the building because that is where the evidence collection took place.
Bullet wounds do not always illicit a lot of blood loss. In fact, most don’t bleed much at all.
Fact is, we aren’t there and we don’t know what the scene looked like. Speculating about how much blood one “believes” “should” be there is pointless and groundless. We don’t know. People died and people were wounded and that is a fact.
focus on the facts that we know of.

If you take the lack of blood or forensics in this context….There are no crime scene investigators in this scene or any scene or footage moving in and out of the front of the theater which there should be in a race to preserve evidence, take blood, prints , etc etc…. and we have not been shown the inside of the theater so all evidence that could remove any doubt as to what happened in the theater is not shown…so I am asking why? why is it not shown?

@ f-marco – I guess what Jan10 is wanting to get across, is that the focus should be on the case – if in fact there is evidence that JH committed the crime he is being accused of. So far it seems there is enough evidence suggesting the contrary.

Maybe once JH is proven innocent by the court (small likelihood) Then pictures, unheard witnesses etc. will emerge which will give you a clearer perspective on your theory, but until then lets focus on exposing the lies that make JH anything other then a patsy.

That short video you posted just now …. the front of the theater shows the police waiting on the theater employees closing up the cash registers and equipment of the theater…… before the place is closed off to everyone but investigators and police…. they couldn’t leave company money and paperwork in side….. this was after the wounded and murdered and emergency crews had left….

Did smoke bombs go off in theater 8? If so were they on a timer? If not how did so much smoke travel so fast into 8? Anyone able to hunt down full blueprints on this theater?
They share a common ventilation system being side by side. Smoke went into the return in theater 9 and went through the A/C system to be returned to both theaters.
@Brian I tend to agree with fmarco. Showing evidence that this shooting did not happen the way they said it did helps jh. That evidence along with alot more evidence is the missing blood where it should be. (Also again why are there no footprints in that blood?) That missing blood is the same as all the other things that are missing in this case. Do I believe there were no victims in this case? I don’t want to believe that cause it would be so hard to wrap my head around. What I do know is that the focus should be on the truth…whatever that is…not on proving jh innocent. Limiting the focus would make us just like the authorities in Aura. There sole focus is jh’s guilt. Are sole focus is his innocence. I think the truth lies somewhere in between. So fmarco I look forward to hearing some more of your observations and ideas.

It is to met a matter of tact and a necessary one I think – if you have a lot of seeming evidence that challenges the official narrative, why ad one more that puts the whole story into question to the possible emotional detriment of the victims – it is premature at least, to evolve theories from the mere observation of there seemingly being none or not enough blood.

On second thought, seems they are only releasing documents supporting he is guilty.
Documents that won’t be released include an arrest affidavit, which contains information about the investigation, as well as requests for search warrants and subpoenas.
So he sent some burned up money to Fenton with the notebook, allegedly (if he even sent this package at all). Not sure what to make of it. Also, one of the documents released today did say it was mailed on July 12, not July 19 as some had reported.

That seems to be the only “new” item. Hit was sent on 7/12, then that negates their theory of right before shooting. What happened to original story of called to school by professor, only to find nothing, then search mail room and “by chance” find notebook.
I’m beginning to think all these newly released documents are nothing but a weak attempt to act like the public and media isnt being completely shutout. These documents are summaries of the motions; I couldn’t even wade thru more than the first one — where absolutely nothing provided in his request for a public defender…. they essentially gave him one 7/20. Again, seems like no attempt for private counsel. Not sure if that’s his signature…. is there any definite handwriting sample?
I also wonder if writing Westword would be helpful. The articles they do, while never suggesting innocence, are way less damning than MSM. Westword is a small local publication – essentially the one with concert listings, restaurants, local items of interest.
It still boggles me why they were so sure from the minute one that he was the only shooter. That’s why I’ll never buy it.
just a small thing on the time things happened. Just saw a video of an interview that Curbing Dates state on cnn that during the shooting the movie turned off but the lights stayed off so it was hard to see where the shooter as. According to the police tapes a police officer is asking that someone turn the movie off..probably at least 30 mins into everything. Sorry can’t upload the video.
Another question on Corbin Dates (sorry about previous typos..not me but my phone). He states in an interview that it took 30 minutes to get out but the shots themselves lasted 15-20 minutes. How is that possible and how do we reconcile his inconsistencies?

I’ve been lurking on several different blogs about this. One reader suggested that this shooting could be modeled after the 2009 movie rampage wherein a disenchanted twenty something dons tactical gear with a gas mask and murders random people. In it, the shooter burns money as a representation of the evil in the world. The shooter then finds a naiev friend to come play “paintball” with him. He then shoots the friend and makes it look like it was a murder-suicide. Just thought this was weird. Maybe the burnt currency has to do with this movie as well.

It is awful, exploitative trash, but that’s no surprise. There are definitely some similarities, particularly in the appearance of the assailant (almost 100%) and in the troubled “lone wolf” mythology. Also interesting is the duping/framing of the patsy ending in “suicide”, and that the real perpetrator goes free. I believe this was the intended outcome in Aurora as well but that something went wrong (police arrived too early?) and we are now in “coverup” mode. Also very bizarre is the killer’s speech at the end of the film about how the world is overpopulated and how that was his motivation. It doesn’t even seem to fit with the rest of the film. “Rampage” may have been an inspiration for the “Aurora” script which was rolled out this summer, or it may have been released as preconditioning to get the public to accept that such things are possible and even likely. I would lean towards the former because this film was not widely seen.
What is being widely seen (and receiving rave reviews) is the new Showtime series “Homeland.” Again, it’s pure exploitative garbage, and guess what, the bad guys aren’t Arabs anymore, they’re your next-door, main street, “good old boy” neighbors. “Surprise, surprise!” as Gomer Pyle would say…

The writer/director of “Rampage” is Uwe Boll. He’s quite an interesting character. It seems that in addition to being universally despised, his films also usually lose huge amounts of money. He uses tax dodges and special shelter funds in order to make them. Apparently in Germany, movies which lose money can be used as tax deductions. Now what sort of people will throw millions of dollars to produce a film just to get a tax deduction?

My thoughts exactly. They’ve said he was a normal guy who would hang out/go drinking regularly with a small group, and two people reported seeing Holmes with some guy on the day leading up to the shooting. Who are these acquaintances? Where are they? What about the people he communicated with online?
I guess it’s taking them longer to concoct the forensic IT “evidence.” If it’s convenient, I’m sure they’ll produce some sort “evidence” to support whatever story they need to promote. It’s just one of the cards that hasn’t been played yet.
I read today that all the crime scene evidence is being analyzed by the FBI–not local law enforcement. Perhaps the same is true of his computer. This can’t be good.
Polaris, what two people say they saw him with someone on that day besides the Mexican girl?
The first was the Latino woman who said she saw Holmes running with another man down the street that evening around 7 p.m. This video is available on Youtube. I think the woman may have been interviewed on the Greta van Susteren show by a male reporter.
I haven’t seen the video for the second person, but someone here recently (within the past few days) referenced a video in which a neighbor saw Holmes talking to a man in the parking lot that day who seemed to cover his face to avoid being seen.
Even if only one of these reports is true, I’d like to know who the guy is. I’d like to know even more why these leads are not being investigated, as far as we’re aware. I would think that the information gained could be of interest to both the prosecution and the defense.
They didn’t say which classmate had the text messages. Yeom pyo lee perhaps? Seems like they’re grasping at straws right now. I don’t even think the defense knows how to plea. That’s telling. Otherwise they wouldn’t have fought for the notebook for the insanity plea yet it seems they’re setting it up that way. They also wouldn’t have fought about the extra DNA testing if they were going with guilty. I don’t think even they know as of yet.
It was a girl…. the story was reported in that long Wall Street Journal article. Only “new” thing in the court documents is that she was pretty upset they took years of her personal correspondence, not just that with Holmes.
Funny though we’ve never heard a word about Yeom Lee again. Not even from him… you’d think he would want his two cents in, since he was “under suspicion” for Z seconds.

To me this is rather significant because it is further evidence that at least as of May 10, Holmes was still actively engaged in his studies. If he were “flunking out” or thinking about dropping out, I doubt he would have cared to post a review about a lab product he had used.

Someone mentioned there is footage from his traffic ticket (the only other “incident” on his record). I had assumed it was a long time ago, but that person (don’t remember who) said it was on 7/10/12. Almost too convenient to get that minor offense in ten days before the shooting.
Right, and if he didn’t unravel until June, then, well, that leaves a little more than a month to order a crapload of weapons and ammo, become a pro at using them while wearing full body armor and a gas mask (all while maintaining a 50% hit rate, according to media reports), learn how to make grenades and bombs the likes of which authorities haven’t seen outside the Middle East, and plan all the other details of one of the worst massacres in recent US history. This laboratory product review is just further evidence to suggest that the official story is next to impossible.

very intuitive. Ihave been thinking that that area is important too, mostly for security cameras on those buildings that run along that side of the theater. I’m guessing that in most cases, the shooter leaves the original scene and opens up on others outside that first area or the police or the police open fire on him. Remember the very first thing that made this case seem odd… the fact that the gunman was taken alive, not shot at all. Kinda stood out to me right off the bat. Well, I think that may be what this statistic hints at.

Here is a good written interview account of Corbin’s experience during the shooting. He says the shooting went for several minutes… also tells how he got out , went home,then to the local high school (where the police had told all witnesses to report for interviews)….

I’m not endorsing the blog–it’s not mine. I just thought the stat cited there was interesting if true because it further emphasizes how bizarre the event was. I mean, if 99% of active shooter incidents end with the shooter either dead from suicide or death/disarmament by police, then this shooting was truly atypical, statistically speaking, which begs the question, “Why?”. What made this event differ from all the other ones we hear about on regular basis?

I thought the mug shot was because of the new charges added (which at least makes a little sense). Not because “his appearance changed.” I have never ever heard of that reason for a new mug shot. And for the Public Defenders office to hear that reasoning, and agree… then drop its complaint…. well, to say the least, seems odd (if they were really working in James’ best interests, which they never seem to be.)
When I first saw this article from today’s proceedings, I thought maybe the victims were scared because they thought the other killers could still get them….stupid me, not so.
Even worse, Holmes lawyers say the media motions for more disclosure take away from the time lawyers have to spend on the criminal case. He made reference to needing to examine “the depth of Mr. Holmes’ mental illness.” Apparently that is so time consuming they cant examine for the truth. Makes me sick. I really wish there was something we could do to persuade someone to question these events — I look at the murders in Libya… news has jumped all over recently that for being false reporting, but none of that here whatsoever. Why? And there was been a young girl kidnapped and murdered here last week, so that was all the news for us, no Holmes coverage at all. I doubt we’ll hear much about it in the future. . . .

Okay, so I occasionally enjoy checking out the James Holmes-related tumblrs out there, as the contributors are often younger folks with way more time and motivation to unearth interesting tidbits related to the case. Once you get past the meme-like approach and seemingly flippant writing style, you understand that most of these people feel sympathy for JH on some level but just have an odd way of expressing it. At any rate, a few tumblr contributors from CO have made their way inside various hearings. I’m posting the link to one girl’s account of today’s hearing. When you distill it down to the most pertinent info, we learn that Holmes is gaunt, sickly pale, showing signs of malnutrition, and completely mentally checked-out. Someone on tumblr further commented that there is NO WAY Holmes was in any shape to have possibly bragged and carried on in the shower like that Desiray whats-her-face claimed. It’s rather sad, but I think it stands in stark contrast to the weird mugshot that was just released which showed a much fuller-faced Holmes. Makes me even more suspicious that mugshot was photoshopped.

Great analysis. Honestly, I didn’t think much about the concept of people looking different after having been driven crazy. But this, it wouldn’t surprise me if Holmes’ expression while sleeping is now altered.
I transcribed the following from a radio program where Mae Brussell speaks on the topic of the “Lone Assassin.” This might provide insight into what JH is being subjected to while awaiting trial…
“Our American assassins are hired as decoys, then they’re either killer or isolated in their cages for 30 days,… separated from other inmates in the prison…The lone assassin then becomes like an animal. And he is dissected by the Pentagon social scientists and psychiatrists. Selected attorneys and privileged biographers then write their history.”
“Soon the puppet mass media and other experts begin to pick up the lingo when they pass along this information about these people as fact. And, while this human being is being turned into a patsy and is monitored every second and isolated until his death a group of covert agents manufacture what are supposed to have been his motives for becoming the assassin. The fictitious personality will be studied and is supposed to become the model for assassins that America has produced in the ’60s and ’70s.”
“There is a set pattern of personality traits to describe these people. The biographical profile can be used for future murders if other candidates threaten the occupant in the White House.”

Maybe we will get a different perspective once Tina writes about her experience. Two different people may see two different things. I bet his parents are working so they can take time off when the real trial starts. They are still just middle class.
I haven’t read the tumblr account yet, so I’m not sure what she saw, but he didn’t look malnourished or gaunt or sickly to me. He did, however, look completley vacant, like a shell of human with no thought process whatsoever going on in his head. He stared blankly, blinking. I thought he was staring at Judge Sylvester but my husband said it was just at the wall. There was zero reaction to anything that was said by anyone. He didn’t look at anyone when they were speaking. He appeared to me to be limping when he walked in and out of the courtroom, but my husband didn’t totally agree it was a limp but did agree something was off with his walk.
I typed up my handwritten notes and it’s 5 pages in Word, so I’m not going to post it all here lol. I also haven’t read anything the media has put out yet from today.
Most notable to me:
The main prosecutor guy (I don’t know the prosecutions’ names!) is a cocky asshole.
At one point, when Brady was talking about sanctions for the notebook leak, the prosecutor was arguing that the defense’s motion didn’t say if the defense believes this is accurate information that was leaked (which is clearly not the point – whether true or not, that information was leaked and now the the public knows it and can’t un-know it) AND he went on to say (I’m almost quoting him here but not quite because I probably missed a few words so it’s not an actual direct quote) “They don’t indicate if they believe it’s based on fact or if it’s someone who heard radio traffic and filled in the dots and was going to be a ‘big’ person and call the media.” Nice little jab there at the people who have listened to the radio traffic and can comprehend that it doesn’t quite fit in with the official narrative.
Sylvester asked about moving the preliminary hearing to the week of January 7 and the prosecutor consulted with a man right next to him. Then he said that man was a Sgt Files? not sure of the name, he said it quickly, of the NYPD and that this Sgt believes many of the victims will be on vacation the week of January 7 and they should push it to the next week. WTF? Why was an NYPD officer there, and how could he purport to know the victims’ vacation schedules months in adavance?
Daniel King’s head blocked my view of Holmes quite often. King spoke to Holmes twice, talking directly into his ear, but I couldn’t see if Holmes responded or acknolwedged or not, because King’s head blocked my view. He has a big head!
Fenton has been unable to saty in her house due to concern for her safety.
The defense has 18,000 pages of discovery with 10s to hundreds of thousands more expected.
There were 8 sherriffs in the courtroom alone and they stared us down. They really did intimidate me a little. My husband said one of the ones who had brought Holmes in from the detention center was mad-dogging Holmes the whole time, he just kept looking at him like he wanted to f— him up. I didn’t notice that, my husband told me about it later.
Holmes was wearing red, like tomato red, not the maroon from his latest mugshot. Tan flip flops and white socks.

Why would Daniel King whisper anything in Holmes’ ear if Holmes is beyond understanding anything?
A cop is visibly threatening Holmes…. why? To keep Holmes from speaking out about ‘anything’?
I would be shocked if Holmes could form a coherent thought to speak out about anything to anyone. He was just NOT THERE. And it’s not like he was off in his own world either, he was just nowhere.
But, I don’t know. Could be he’s just keeping quiet and not reacting to anything for some other reason than his mind being totally gone, but WOW he is good at it if it’s a conscious decision to look and act that way. I don’t know what to think.
The Sgt Files guy is Matt Fyles (I believe that’s the correct spelling Aurora PD told me). Behind Detective Craig Appel he’s the #2 lead detective on the Holmes case. They said he’s NYPD though? I guess this confirms mine and my friend’s thoughts that Oates brought over some of his cronies from NYPD. I have to wonder if Appel is from NYPD too. It would explain why they’re going along with Oates’ obvious lie. Thanks for the info, Tina!. We would all love it if you posted your notes here, or if you could email them to some of us. I don’t mind at all having them be long, the more the better!
Ok I might have to break this up into 2 or more replies, but here are all my notes, in their entirety:
I haven’t watched or read anything the media has reported on from today’s hearing because I didn’t want to taint my recollection. I also probably spell a lot of people’s names wrong.
My husband’s name is Marc, so I don’t have to keep calling him “my husband.” – when I say Marc, that’s who I mean. He doesn’t know really anything about the case, so he is like my unbiased witness to bounce what I saw off of. He didn’t even know Holmes had public defenders.
We got to the courthouse around 7:45. We wanted to get there a little earlier but we just didn’t get going in time. First we went into the wrong building, Building 2. The female security guard was very cordial to us and asking if we were together, but when I asked her if this was where the James Holmes hearing was her demeanor instantly changed and she gave us the stink eye and just pointed to the other building without saying a word. We walked to the other building, went through security which was very much like airport security – emptying of pockets into bins, walking through a metal detector. Then we went up to the second floor and waited in line.
We didn’t think we were going to get in because we were 13th or 14th in line. We just sat and waited, mostly listening to the media people talk. The victims and their families had a separate area to wait, away from the media and the public, and a woman who I think was named Lisa hurriedly ushered them past the cameras when it was time. She had on a purple shirt and black skirt. There were only a handful of victims and their families, maybe 5-6. A little later, after the others had gone in, a youngish girl (17?) showed up looking distraught, and went over to where the other victims had been waiting and said “Where’s Lisa?” She had ripped jeans, a lip piercing, and green streaks in her hair. She was with an older woman, maybe her mom. The media said “Is that a victim?” And they decided since it possibly was they would roll the cameras as she walked past with her mom into the courtroom. It seemed like the sheriffs recognized her or something, she had no issues going right in.
Then the media went in. Then we got to go in. We had to go through another security checkpoint, this time I think looking for cell phones or cameras, which were not allowed. In fact, as we were waiting in line, a Sherriff in the hallway by the media people came over to me and Marc and said “Are you guys going in?” I said “Hopefully.” And he said “You know there are no cameras or cell phones allowed right?” and I said yes. He only said that to us specifically, no one else waiting in line. Odd, but possibly prompted by the conversation Marc and I were having about cell phones being small yet able to transmit a signal, which was completely unrelated to the case or anything but he may have overheard bits and pieces. The second checkpoint was a hand check of purses and jackets, and then a metal detector wand. Then we went in, there was a woman telling everyone where to sit and it was very organized. Marc and I were in the 4th row on the aisle. An okay seat.
The defense team was there, with Tamara Brady closest to us, a woman in the middle who looked to be 6-8 months pregnant who may have been named Kristen Nelson, and Daniel King. Then Holmes came in and a hush fell over the courtroom. He had on red jail clothes, like tomato red, not maroon. They had some insignia on the back but I couldn’t make out what it said. He had on tan flip flops with white socks. He appeared to be noticeably limping, both coming into and going out of the courtroom. When I asked Marc later if he saw him limping, he said he wasn’t sure it was limping but it was definitely something. He still had the beard. He totally had bug eyes. They were not normal.
First up was Steve Zansberg who is the attorney for the media, talking about motion C13 filed on 9/28 and C15 filed on 10/5. One was about releasing the victims’ names and the other was about un-redacting the documents. He said that Dr. Fenton’s June 11th client summary that the court released was 5 pages that were completely blacked out. He pointed out 6 of the victims’ names were a matter of public record and already on the court website and cited Cox Broadcasting vs. Coon. He said one of the reasons given for not releasing the victims’ names was because someone had already stolen one of their identities and filed false motions in their name but basically said that’s not likely to happen again, could happen to anyone, or something. Cited the People vs. Matthew McClusky 11CR02 where 26 identity thefts counts were prosecuted by “this office” – Arapahoe?- and 30 or so victims names were released. If they, already being victims of identity theft, aren’t entitled to have their names redacted then why should these victims. He stated the Victims’ Rights Amendment doesn’t differentiate based on economic crimes vs. crimes of violence.
Zansberg continued. He said that the assertion that unnamed press members have harassed victims is unproven and doesn’t justify a blanket closure. The victims have divulged their identity on the news, in filings, and in a letter to the attorney general about the administration of the victims fund. Then he went on to talk about the “excessive” redactions in the documents that were released.
Lisa McGuire? Responded to Zansberg. She said the victims are afraid to go into their yards due to helicopters taking pictures of their minor children. The victims come to court and get their picture taken, and then a group of followers of James Holmes post those pictures to Facebook. Fenton has been unable to live in her house due to her concern for safety. She said the cases Zansberg cited don’t compare to this case, and the media has a qualified right of access, not an unfettered right. She said the case is still under investigation, and the people and the defense don’t have all of the discovery. She said the documents that were redacted were not done by the District Attorney’s office, but agreed that some things, such as case citations, should not be redacted and that it was excessive. She said the victims have been intimidated and harassed and their names should remain sealed to prevent further harm. She mentioned some other case where apparently a victim or witness was killed and seemed to be trying to imply these victims could be killed or physically harmed if their names were released.
King then spoke, said the defense did not make the redactions either and agreed that some of them were excessive, and it was probably done by an employee of the court who was trying to be cautious. He said some redactions are necessary. Called Zansberg’s remarks “callous”, and claimed Zansberg talked about the victims as if they were “cannon fodder”. He said the defense’s investigation is being impeded because witnesses are hiding due to the media. He could divulge specific instances in chambers of the media harassing (he didn’t use that word but can’t remember what he did use) victims. He said the case is so huge and there is so much to be done. They haven’t even made discovery, can’t understand the nature or depth of Holmes’ mental illness (note: he did say it just like that, as if they’re certain he HAS a mental illness), and they don’t have time to deal with all these motions. Zansberg is there every time, it’s silly, and they need to get to the substantive work and prepare for the preliminary hearing. He asked to deny the motions by the media.
Zansberg replied. He said this case is not so unique in all the universe, as McGuire had stated, that first amendment rights should be suspended because of it. It’s not like nothing has come before that is similar to this. He mentioned Jared Loughner, then said the Oklahoma City bombing case was heard here (?) and those victims names were released within days. The Victims’ Rights Amendment is a state statute, which doesn’t trump Constitutional 1st Amendment rights. He said the media treats victims with respect and the badgering claims are unsubstantiated.
Sylvester said the court will take it under advisement and they should have a written ruling by Monday at the latest. Then he asked if the defense had any objection to adding additional counts to Holmes’ charges, Brady said “No objection.” He asked about amending the counts and Brady said “No objection.”
They moved on to the defense motion for sanctions on pretrial publicity D17. Brady said they want to present evidence to the court on the Oct. 25 hearing, will need at least a couple of hours to do so. Sylvester said 1:30 on Oct. 25 and asked the prosecution if they objected to that.
I don’t know the prosecution’s names, but only one of them spoke, unless the McGuire lady was one of them but I don’t think she was (she was a victim’s advocate or something?). The guy who spoke was a cocky asshole. I will call him Doe. Doe got up and responded to Sylvester’s question, but first announced he was feeling under the weather, so we would have to deal with his scratchy voice instead of the “dulcet tones” we were accustomed to. Like anyone gives a fuck about this dude’s voice. Anyway, Doe said the defense’s motion for sanctions doesn’t put them on adequate notice. He said the statements they make about the media stories are vague, with no dates or media outlets given in the motion.
Brady responded that this motion was related to D8, D9, D10, and D11, and in D9 the article was attached that had the leaked material (about the notebook). The court said at the time that they needed to resolve the privilege issue first and then take up the sanctions. Now that the privilege issue is dealt with (presumably because the prosecution dropped trying to get the notebook?) the defense is bringing the sanctions forward again.
Doe responded. He asked Brady if the allegation was that this is accurate information that’s been leaked? Who is the defense blaming? They don’t indicate if they believe it’s based on fact or if it’s someone who heard radio traffic and filled in the dots and was going to be a “big” person and call the media. (His whole statement here, and the way he said it, cemented my hatred for him. WHO CARES if the leak about the notebook is accurate information or not, that’s not the issue. The issue is that someone said it, and true or not, now the public knows about it and can’t un-know it. I also despise his jab at people listening to the radio traffic and realizing that IT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE.)
Brady responded that they want to call witnesses and present evidence to find out who had access to the notebook, who leaked it, and what sanctions are appropriate. Sylvester said it will be heard on the 25th and if the people need more time they can ask for a continuation.
Doe then brought up the idea that they should settle on a concrete date in November or December for a preliminary hearing, because some victims are from various states across the country and need to make travel plans. Brady said they won’t be ready in November or December for a preliminary hearing, because they already have 18,000 pages of discovery and there are 10s or hundreds of thousands more headed their way. She said it’s an extraordinarily large case and it impacted many people. Let the victims and their families get through the holidays without travelling.
Sylvester said they should set a date in January with a backup date in February for the preliminary hearing. Brady said she wants a whole week set aside, Doe said he doesn’t think he needs a whole week but don’t mind setting a whole week aside. Doe said Sgt Files (?) from the NYPD (who was there, and Doe consulted with him before speaking) thinks many victims will be on vacation that first week of January and they should try for the next week. (WTF, why is an NYPD officer there, and how could he purport to know the victims’ vacation schedule for January??).
Sylvester said the week of Jan. 14th is the Owens matter, and the Sherriff’s Office can’t do security for both at the same time. The tentative date is set for the week of January 7th with February 4th as a backup, and they will take up the matter at the Oct. 25 hearing.
I think it was Doe who said the court took possession of documents from University of Colorado and the people haven’t received them yet. Sylvester said the court is working to determine if any of them are privileged and they should be done next week.
That was it.
As far as my perceptions – it was hard to see Holmes a lot of the time because King’s fat head was in the way. The sherriffs were also staring us all down, there were 8 of them in the courtroom alone. So I didn’t observe Holmes as much as I wanted to because I did indeed feel intimidated, as I’m sure was the plan. I was also looking down to write a lot.
Two times King said something to Holmes, talking quietly right into his ear. The first time was when Zansberg was talking. The second time was Doe was talking about not needing a whole week for the prelim hearing. I couldn’t see Holmes at all to see if he had any reaction because King was directly blocking him.
A few times Holmes made mouth movements that looked almost as if he were chewing gum, but just 2 or 3 chews then stop. Never opened his lips, either. I doubt he was actually chewing gum, he was just doing…something.
Brady’s voice shook when she spoke, almost as if she were nervous. Could have been she was sick or was just getting over being sick. Could have just been her voice.
Holmes didn’t look out to the victims, media, or public at all. Not once that I saw. He leaned back in his chair, not like reclining, but just with his back against the back of the chair. He didn’t lean forward, bounce the chair (Like Brady), swivel it (like King) or really do much of anything except stare blankly. He looked vacant. He had no reaction to anything that was said. Marc said he looked “out there”, that he just stared at the wall blinking, and looks like he’s on drugs, like sedated.
The guard with the face-rubbing who looked like he was laughing in the video of the first hearing, before cameras were banned, was there. Also, Marc wrote down that I should look at the guard in front of Holmes, one of the ones who had brought him in from the detention center. He was a muscular guy who was standing with his arms crossed the entire time and chewing gum. Marc said he was mad-dogging Holmes the whole time, like he repeatedly looked at him like he wanted to f him up. I didn’t see it because Marc told me to pay attention to him too late.

So, how did James Holmes go from intelligent nerd to vegetable?
Are we to believe that after he shot those people he took some sort of brain damaging drug? Doesn’t the media care that Homes’ is obviously brain damaged?
The updated mug shot photo looks like he has been on some “treatment” that has taken a deeper effect on his psyche.

I wonder who makes sure he is not abused with medicine and/or violence?
I too wonder about the drugging of him. Doesn’t this have to be done under a treating doctor supervision? And why keep him so drugged? Unlikely he is a threat to himself or others, so I can not understand the rationale for drugging him without a proper diagnosis. I thought the point of administering drugs was to make one lucid and able to participate. Even Jared Loughner refused to take any meds for quite some time. James obviously not given that choice (how is that legal?). Only reason I guess is to ensure he never talks.
Pushing the next date to 2013 only makes sure he is a distant memory.

If they were still working, living normal lives, I would think the media would be all over them. Or at least a couple pictures would surface. All of the sudden the media actually honors a request for privacy? Doubtful. Since 7/20 when his Dad was seen at airport coming to Denver, there have been zero sitings of his parents or sister. Or of people coming/ going from house. I find that odd, and extremely troubling.
No evidence of anyone living in the house? Have they moved? Must have….
and you are right! If they were still working, some kind of news about them would have leaked out !!! That is very strange…
and if they were able (where ever they are) they would be at their son’s jail door…. they would be there.
And this must be very troubling for James Holmes also…or maybe he knows that his silence keeps his parents alive?.
I just looked at the sketch from today and Tamara Brady didn’t even sit next to James. They sat in a row, it was James, Daniel King, another woman who I think was named Kristen Nelson, and then Tamara Brady. All in a line, with Tamara being the furthest from James of them all.

just wanted to keep this going..haven’t heard much on here lately. i can’t upload videos with my phone. i did see an interesting video uploaded by chrissez on YouTube. its the first one I’ve seen that puts a time on different things. according to this the previews started at 12:01, the movie at 12:15, and the shots at 12:30. i had gotten black before for saying that corbin dates had said the shooting lasted 15-20 minutes. if the shooting started at 12:30 and we believe corbin that means it lasted till at least 12:45 which is after the time chief oates says Holmes was detained. it also backs up the report on the audio tape that shots were still be fired. i found this video from the blog jimmysllama.

Oh, great. So now police will come to one’s door if one’s computer is found to have James Holmes-related info and photos? I realize that this guy may have violated his employer’s IT policy by using his computer for personal surfing, but since when does that constitute grounds for a search of one’s home? The guy in the article says he sympathized with Holmes . . . and now that’s a crime? This just rubs me the wrong way. Sure, the man may have been drinking, and perhaps should have received some disciplinary action if he conducted excessive personal business on the computer at work, but that doesn’t make him a murderer.
Years ago, an investigation of mine revealed child- and rape-pornography on someone’s computer. The dude was fired, but not prosecuted because “accessing” wasn’t a crime in that state–only “storing.” I cringe to think that someone could get away with something like that, yet the guy in the above receives a visit from police and possibly a warrant-less search of his home. Even if a search warrant HAD been issued, that’s just a scary! Ugh.
I trust police infinitely more than feds. I find I can respect just about any police officer. The ego-driven hotheads are luckily pretty rare. The problem arises when the police allow the feds to do their jobs for them.
Clearly FBI and ATF had too much involvement in the James Holmes case. To the point where they could’ve tampered with the crime scene (since they handled all that…in a non-federal crime). Check out this video where the Denver Police Chief says, “We had help from the ATF and FB… US Marshall’s Office”.

Sorry, this was a tangential response to your post. It sounds like police went to his apartment out of concern for his mental state. I don’t believe they deliberately were trying to infringe on his rights.

Yes, some time back…
if the young man had dreams of photography or modeling career, and he used a ‘career; name then it really has no affect on his ability to tell about what happened to him at the theater….. many viewers had jobs or were college students…. It was a college town…. full of dreamers and people with high expectations of their future….. sort of sad that many of the non-victims are victims now of a different variety…..

Also, he took a motorcade to court instead of the underground tunnel, apparently because it was in a different courthouse. Also, members of the public who attended sat in an overflow room and watched the trial on a video screen rather than being allowed in the courtroom.
His parents ! And three officers handled the package? Strange. maybe they are the ones who put the package together! That so called evidence should be thrown out of court. !
Long hair and a beard…. sounds like he hasn’t got a barber…..
I hope his parents have some private time with him… is that possible?
