  1. When are these blockheads gonna get it? By voting, you do nothing but give dishonest, selfish, amoral thugs (who are more than well-known for screwing the public over) your consent for them to wreck your life. Stop voting, and reject the system!

  2. I wouldn’t say “don’t vote.” I’d say “get a program.” Things are too far gone to just turn politics into a spectator event where you can expect everything you want to come forward in a pre-packaged candidate. We need activists to get a program of real demands (something which Occupy Wall St. still doesn’t really have) and inject that into discussion.

How about a Wall St sales tax so that the burden of the depression isn’t shifted onto the backs of the 99%? How about a new and updated version of the New Deal for the 21st century? How about NO FRAUDCLOSURES? How about a real repudiation of the Washington Consensus and the Austrian School/Chicago School?

Getting active goes beyond voting every 2 and 4 years.

    • How do you get those programs when there is no one to vote for that will support such programs?

      • Like I said…activism. If you’re just going to be a political consumer and sit around waiting for all the solutions to just show up in a pre packaged candidate, you’re wasting your time. And frankly, it doesn’t do anyone any good. It was time for activism many years ago – and activism goes beyond just casting a ballot, writing a blog, or sharing a news article on facebook/twitter.

We have knowledge of the issues, the problems, and the solutions to a degree. But what the Hell good is it if nobody wants to apply it and expects someone to show up on a white horse to do it for them? Politics isn’t a position just for “them.” However, that’s how it will continue to be if no one challenges that perception.

  3. Up around here it’s all Republicans, all day long–seems like, anyway. Republican shit is all we ever hear. A few cycles back, though, a guy came out of nowhere and ran as a Democrat. He got like 4 votes. He ran again next election and got a few thousand. That was enough to change the Republican message for a while–not the way they do things, but their message.

Well, today they’re back to their same old message, delivered with the same stupid, Romney-like leer–anything that interferes with the way they do business is a restriction to free enterprise.

It’s supposed to be an anti-Democrat thing, but The People around here, Republicans and Democrats alike, haven’t been paying attention past couple decades.

  4. This guy Arrow came up with an idiotic “theorem” about how no election method could really work. Even though his absurd “theorem” was based on totally absurd premises, he got a Nobel prize for it. The entire little election methods theory academic tar pit is a giant scam! All of their ridiculous “problems” could be solved with the simple “padded score voting” method. But when I describe it, nobody makes comments or anything. They have tons of energy to complain endlessly about problems caused by politicians on the Internet, but are too lazy to think about the obvious solution.

A simple description of “padded score voting”: With this method, each voter can give 0, 10, 11, or 12 votes to any candidate, and also to any other candidates. It’s the only reasonably simple method to eliminate the spoiler effect. (It’s not really the same as “range voting”.)

  5. FYI folks: speaking of politicians, I think it’s time to start de-codifying the latest State of the Union…

    • Well for one thing, Obama said that if congress passed him a bill that prohibited insider trading by congress, he would sign it… that was a lie… there has been such a bill (STOCK) in congress since 2006… and it just sits. Obama could have already told congress to pass it and give it to him .. he hasn’t. He figures most Americans do not even know about STOCK. He is a deceiver ….

  6. Get behind padded score voting. You useless assholes. Sorry. We get tired of your Internet scam.

    • It’s hard being all alone with the truth.

Truth is beautiful, but never made good company.

Maybe friendship is about sharing good lies?

      • Nah, fuck that shit, blues. Friendship is about telling the truth; there’s a thing called trust. It’s strengthened by truth and weakened by lies. Without it, friendship cannot exist.

Better to be alone and at peace then in company and filled with misery, lies, and guilt… :)

        • “Better to be alone and at peace then in company and filled with misery, lies, and guilt…”

The only company I know is filled with misery, lies, and guilt. Being totally alone is not an option.
