American INGSOC and Rachel Maddow’s Upcoming “GOLDSTEIN!!” Moment

by Scott Creighton

In the American INGSOC, the Two Minutes Hate has been extended to two hours this coming Monday night. Guess they needed more time for commercials.

Rachel (I wanna be Keith Olbermann) Maddow was just on Jon Stewart’s show plugging her upcoming MSNBC “fear the Tea Party” propaganda piece which will air prime-time Monday night.  This interview between these two icons of the fake liberal media is a disgusting piece of blatant “progressive” propaganda, the timing of which is extremely suspect.

The dark side of it is that [McVeigh] really did see himself as part of an anti-government movement in the United States,” she said. “We have that to a greater or lesser degree over time in the US, and right now I think we are experiencing an upswing again in anti-government extremismHuffington Post

During their little segment of politically correct echo-chamber group think, Maddow and Stewart both delve into the sanitized version of the McVeigh story, completely forgetting to mention little tedious facts like the MSM’s coverage of the removal of the other bombs that had been pre-planted in the building, the eye-witnesses who accurately described the other man getting out of the van,  the video of McVeigh filmed on a nearby army base long after he was supposed to have left the military, and the official reports that stated the damage to the Murrah building couldn’t have come from the truck bomb alone.

They both skip over all that info and instead seem to focus on what damage they would like to have done to McVeigh (ie. accused “homegrown terrorists”) were they to have “been in the room with him”.  I guess that is supposed to refer to torturing suspects… which they both seem ok with in the case of “extremists”.  What ever happened to good old “progressives”? They sound more and more like neocons in congress and on TV these days.

Liberals Smear Wikileaks; Mother Jones and Colbert go after Wikileaks

(Raimondo lays out a great explanation of how liberal media and blogs are being manipulated into serving the imperial agenda. As has been done in certain circles already to the likes of Chomsky, Zinn, and even playwriter Harold Pinter at times, the embedded PR agents working within the Truth movement are already hard at work spinning up the “Wikileaks as CIA asset” meme which only serves to undermine their reach (and more specifically the exposure of whatever they reveal) and to discredit them as a viable avenue for potential whistle-blowers. Whose interests do the naive members of the Truth movement actually think such rumors serve? This deliberate and obviously government backed meme has broken into the mainstream Obamalove ”progressive” talking points and yet members of the Truth movement fail to even notice. Steven Colbert tried to ambush the editor of Wikileaks on his show the other day, while he spouted Pentagon talking points like they were his own thoughts. Remember Colbert? A once proud critic of the imperial Bush agenda, as soon as Obamalove took office, Colbert was rushed over to perform for “The Troops” live on-stage and he even let a general shave his head (gave him a military haircut “high and tight”) because Obama himself came on a big screen and told him to do it. It was a pathetic and disgusting display of propaganda for which Colbert’s reputation will never recover in my mind and yet the Truth and Dissent movements seem to be following right in line… sad really.)

Activists intent on releasing evidence of crimes committed by a powerful government are harassed and followed by police and intelligence agents: a restaurant in which they are meeting comes under surveillance, and, subsequently, one of their number is detained by the police for 21 hours. Their leader is followed on an international flight by two agents: and, in a parking lot of foreign soil, one of their number is accosted by a “James Bond character” and threatened. Computers are seized, and on the group’s Twitter account the following message appears:

Well, then, who is responsible? Surely it must be some totalitarian regime – say, the Chinese, or one of the Arab autocracies – but no. The culprits are the Americans, and their target is Wikileaks – the web site of record for leaked government and other official documents, which has so far done more real investigative reporting in the last few years to unnerve and expose the Powers That Be than the New York Times and the Washington Post, combined.
