(Our Nobel Laureate president (what a joke) is ready to commit “every element of national power” to attack the people of Yemen because some FBI agent lies to the press and claims this idiot “underwear bomber” “confessed” to everything saying it was Yemen “al Qaeda” all along. What a crock of shit. You want to know why they are attacking Yemen? Here’s why. They are attacking Yemen because of a quarter of a billion dollars in IMF and World Bank investments that are “reforming” the economy of Yemen while putting millions of people there out of work. They are attacking Yemen because of the Kuwait Energy pipelines being built all around that nation and they are afraid if the uprising continues the new government might not be so friendly to foreign raiders… I mean “investors”. That’s why they are attacking the people of Yemen not because of some stupid “underwear bomb”. President Obama is a neoliberal fascist thug, just like the president before him, and the one before him. He’s a criminal and a bought and paid for sell-out.)

Taking time out from his Hawaii vacation to comment on last Friday’s lap bombing on a Detroit bound airliner, President Barack Obama vowed an “accelerated offensive” against militants in Yemen.
The president said he would not rest and would commit “every element of national power” to the new mission of attacking those speculatively accused of some vague complicity in the failed bombing.
Several Congressmen are already chomping at the bit to use the lap bomber as a justification for a war in Yemen, and the Yemeni government, which would presumably be further aided in its assorted civil wars by the US, eagerly declared that the attacker had been to Yemen.
With the scent of terrorism in the air, President Obama will likely be able to parlay the lap bomber into a justification for anything and everything he might want. Officials are already talking of scrapping plans to close Guantanamo Bay over it, and America’s role in the attempted assassination of US-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki last week can now readily be justified on speculation that the bomber’s alleged al-Qaeda links can be combined with Awlaki’s alleged al-Qaeda links to form alleged links between the two.
Of course, the Awlaki assassination bid and the US attacks on Yemen have been going on since before a Nigerian set his lap on fire on an airplane, and we’re only now starting to get the full extent of the war in Yemen the Obama Administration is already covertly fighting. The failed bombing is just a nice Christmas present for the president, giving him easy cover for the assorted wars he is already fighting and further wars he might plan to start in the future.

The control they have over the press is just depressing.
China executed somebody yesterday, or maybe the day before, for running some dope across their border (a retarded patsy, from the sound of it), ignoring pleas for clemency from the West, since the guy was a British citizen.
To me, it sounded a little shaky–like they were trying to embarrass China, punish them for something, take some focus off themselves,…something like that–like they give a shit about the loss of innocent life.

Yeah, Roy…. like Obama supposinly helped convince Brazil to side with the American father to get his son back…. as if a big name lawyer was not enough…. it was PR…. so people could say … see Obama is good…. while he murders other people’s children… Oh well,, they were poor..
Hey, Jan,
maybe Obama can help us out here, in Iowa. Some squabble between a couple of cable TV servers is threatening coverage of our bowl games–250,000 are raising hell. Even got the state’s attorney general involved in the thing–all over a couple of ball games.
Oh well, what the hell–Go, Saints!

Roy, that certainly is pathetic. But I just wonder how much of the protest is simply ignored and buried.
Projection is an important part of propaganda, and they are doing it in spades, think,…….
I don’t know, aj. I’ve been to a lot of protests around here over the years, seen as many as maybe 50 out in Des Moines during the run-up, maybe 25 on a good day in Sioux City, or Sioux Falls, SD. Sometimes the newspapers or TV stations send someone out to cover the bigger ones. Most of the time, though, there’s only a handful of us come out.
We’re pretty Red up around where I live, but maybe they get more over East–the bigger towns along the river. I hope so.
Anyway, you’re right–it’s a crying shame. Hope 2010 is good to you.

Hello Roy…. did the games get coverage? I did not turn Tv on today….. the bowl games palyed today? See, I’m not very smart about these things…
I did read where AT&T are trying to get the land-phone made obsolete…. they claim the broad band can’t be spread out fast enough because the telephone companies are burdened with keeping the land phone lines up. Burdened? I thought we were paying for these things….. mind isn’t free….. I been missing somethng?
they actually have a bill being drawn up to push through congress… they are gettinga lot of flack from phone users though…..
the land phone is the only phone that is stable .. these darn cell phones are triple expensive and keep flacking out.. that’s what they want…. more money in cell phones… and they can cut you off quicker …..
looks like the telephone companies are preparing for their ‘forced customer’ landslide.
or maybe it will all blow over and not even be discussed. who knows….
happy new year to you and your family…
Thanks, Jan, and same back to you.
I don’t own a cell phone, and I don’t watch college football (unless somebody else in the house turns it on), and that’s the way I like it. Still, sounds like a rip–what they’re up to.
Our Cyclones did play their bowl Thursday evening, and it sounds like some compromise (imagine that!) was made–part of the State got to watch it, part didn’t. Our part didn’t, which pissed our son off to no end. The Hawkeyes play in the Orange Bowl, Tuesday night, I think it is. Have to wait and see how that plays out.

tomorrow is Tuesday, Roy…. hope your ‘half’ gets to see the game….
If the snow storm doesn’t block it……
another storm is coming behind this one….. can you believe we’re having 31 degrees tonight? (Florida)
You in the middle of a blizzard again?
Sounds like they got their differences settled, Jan, and everybody who wants to will get to watch it.
No blizzard yet–just an advisory about an Arctic high that’s coming to bring us snow, blowing snow, and dangerous wind chills tonight into Thursday. Just what we need. Seems like we drive through tunnels now–walls of snow everywhere we go.
31 in Florida? Guess that’ll take Orange Juice up–Big Ag never misses a chance to jack up their stuff, if they’re there like they are here.
Sounds like another Obama vow is about to bite the dust. Heard it this morning that the lap bomber scorched more than just his lap. Also scorched are the hopes of our Yemeni prisoners–”Guantanamo closing ‘complicated’ by recent events.” Seems like they’re afraid those prisoners might try to strike back once they’re sent home.
Stay warm down there, Jan.
