Enhanced Interrogation Technique 101 – Sodomize Children in Front of Mothers

by Scott Creighton

Seymore Hersh reported, too little fan-fare years ago, that raping a young Iraqi boy in front of his mother was just one horrible thing on one of these “enhanced interrogation” videos.

He said he had seen all the Abu Ghraib pictures. He said, ‘You haven’t begun to see evil…’ then trailed off. He said, ‘horrible things done to children of women prisoners, as the cameras run.’ He looked frightened.”  Salon

This and other things, is the real problem with these new pictures and videos. They can’t be defended in any way.  Jack Bauer couldn’t even pull that one off… (though I shouldn’t give Fox any ideas)

Baucus Flees From Single Payer Advocates

(our “elected” representatives are now running from the people, the activists, who just want their wishes to be heard. They hide from us behind gated communities, in secured towers, behind rows of police storm-troopers, and they run from citizens in the streets nearly every day. Their crimes of handing over this country to the wealth business owners and the corporations and the banks are reaching a level never before seen. They just don’t give a shit about the people any more. They got their “change” candidate in the White House and that is all the cover they will need for a year to completely pillage not only the national coffers, but also they will allow corporations to each dip their bills into our pockets, by law, for a “percentage”. The ONLY fight left, is which corporation will get the biggest slice of the pie; your paycheck.)

According to a recent analysis by the group Consumer Watchdog, Senator Baucus, the leading architect of health reform in the Congress, has received more campaign contributions from the health insurance and pharmaceutical corporations than any other current Democratic member of the House or Senate.

According to the report, Senator Baucus received $183,750 from health insurance companies and $229,020 from drug companies in the last two election cycles.

During recent Senate Finance Committee hearings on health care reform, Baucus has refused to allow even one person to testify on behalf of a single payer health care system.

Four arrested in plot to bomb NYC targets

(buried deep in this story are some interesting facts:  the “informant” met first with 1 guy then they “found” others… all meeting took place in the “informants” house… the “informant” got them weapons…. I wonder if the “informant” also picked the targets, had to really work to talk them into this, if anyone told the “informant” to fuck-off, who is paying the “informant”, does he have CIA ties… that sort of thing…)

Jeremy Scahill: “Little Known Military Thug Squad Still Brutalizing Prisoners at Gitmo Under Obama”

(Go watch the video of the Democracy Now interview, here. It’s very good stuff…)

“Jeremy Scahill reports the Obama administration is continuing to use a notorious military police unit at Guantanamo that regularly brutalizes unarmed prisoners, including gang-beating them, breaking their bones, gouging their eyes and dousing them with chemicals. This force, officially known as the Immediate Reaction Force, has been labeled the “Extreme Repression Force” by Guantanamo prisoners, and human rights lawyers call their actions illegal. [includes rush transcript]“  Democracy Now

“But what we see at every turn is the Obama administration, backed up by the Wall Street Journal editorial board, backed up by the neoconservatives, backed up by the hawkish Republicans, on one side, and then the ACLU, the Center for Constitutional Rights, and social justice and antiwar activists and human rights advocates, on the other side. This is a sad reality in America today, where you have a president that campaigned on a change that we can believe in continuing the most repressive policies of the Bush administration.”  J. Scahill

Obama Is Said to Consider Preventive Detention Plan

by S.G. Stolberg, New York Times

President Obama told human rights advocates at the White House on Wednesday that he was mulling the need for a “preventive detention” system that would establish a legal basis for the United States to incarcerate terrorism suspects who are deemed a threat to national security but cannot be tried, two participants in the private session said.
