Security Council to urge world leaders to push for Israeli-Hamas cease-fire

The United Nations Security Council scheduled emergency consultations Saturday night to address the escalation of violence in Gaza, and Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called for an “immediate end” to the ground incursion.

Ban said in a statement that he was “deeply concerned over the serious further escalation” of violence in Gaza.

Reid and Emanuel Told Blago Who to Pick Before Fitzgerald Sprang His Hasty Arrest

On the Sunday before Gov. Blagojevich was arrested, just two days prior to that event, Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid talked with Blagojevich and told him who they wanted him to pick to fill the vacant senate seat.

Rather, Reid called Blagojevich to argue he appoint either state Veterans Affairs chief Tammy Duckworth or Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan, sources told the Chicago Sun-Times. ABC News

Those two picks in keeping with Rahm Emanuel’s final shortlist that he also communicated to Gov. Blagojevich, according to the Obama Team investigation into the matter.

Emanuel then had “about four” telephone conversations with Blagojevich’s then chief of staff, John Harris, where a list of possible candidates… 

Those candidates included state Comptroller Dan Hynes, Tammy Duckworth, Rep. Jan Schakowsky, and Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr., and — in later conversations — Attorney General Lisa Madigan and Cheryle Jackson. ABC News

JINSA and AIPAC constantly push the need to “shape” the story about what is happening in Gaza, in order to present the Hamas government as the ones responsible for not only the current atrocities taking place, but also, for the criminal punishment of 1.5 million people for the “crimes” of a few. (Every single article written about Gaza should include the fact that Israel is an occupying force that is illegally holding and living on Palestinian land. That should be the very FIRST comment made in every piece of writing so that we don’t forget.)
