Chuck Todd, Political Director of MSNBC, “Shapes” the Gov. Blagojevich Story

Remember the good old days, when reporters “reported” the news rather than just sending up test balloons and trying out new “talking points” for the spin doctors? Ah, the good old days are long gone at MSNBC, that’s for sure.

In a 2 minute interview about the situation with Illinois Gov. Rob Blagojevich, MSNBC Political Director Chuck Todd lied several times about the case, called Blagojevich “crazy” twice, and started suggesting impeachment for this man, who hasn’t been convicted… of anything.

Apparently you get a “Trial by press” at MSNBC for anyone who threatens to upset the Obama “honey wagon” so soon in the game. Or maybe there is a connection between MSNBC and Bank of America. Now that could be interesting.

Gov. Rod Blagojevich is Being Railroaded

Gov. Rod Blagojevich is a Chicago politician.

By all accounts he is well versed in the “ins and outs” of how our current political system operates in America and he cut his political teeth in one of the most corrupt political fish-bowls in the U.S.; Chicago.

My father, a long time ago, gave me some advice about getting through life no matter what career I would choose; “…know the system and work the system…”. I wish I had listened to him. I would be much better off today. I committed the cardinal sin of youth;  I thought I was better than “the system”.  But that is a different story.

As far as I can tell, Gov. Blagojevich and almost every other politician working today, learned their lessons from their fathers. They ALL “work the system“, with almost no exception; just check out Team Obama’s Sec. of State for a reference.

But to read the papers or watch the news, you would think that Gov. Blagojevich is the most corrupt politician in American history. The quotes about his comments are all over the headlines. They are distasteful, they are greedy, and they are self-absorbed (“impeachment is off the table” anyone?).

But are they what they appear to be and is Blago the most corrupt politician ever?

If these things are not really true; if they have been blown way out of proportion, we should be asking the questions “who?” and “why?”.
