After his disgusting display in Israel and in front of the AIPAC conference earlier this year, not to mention his FISA fold and his Off-Shore Oil Drill “compromise” solution, and lest we forget him asking HIS supporters to send money to the defunct Clinton campaign to help them payoff the debts they ran up while distracting the party for 4 additional months and causing a permanent split between us (that will be used latter to explain away why McCain pulled out his “victory”)… after all that… Obama is proving, once again, that he is ready to be the “Spokesman in Chief” for the new Corporate Party of DC.
In the first 4 lines of his statement on the crisis in Georgia, he proves he is just as blinded by the financial powers that be, as is President Bush himself. Sometimes I have to wonder if Obama isn’t really just as stupid as Bush is.
“The situation in Georgia continues to deteriorate because of the escalation of Russia’s use of military force.” Obama.
“ I have spoken to President Saakashvili, and conveyed my deep regret over the loss of life, and the suffering of the people of Georgia.”
Oh really? What about the people of South Ossetia who were blown up on the 8th of this month by the Georgian artillery shells that started this whole thing off? What about those guys Obama? Or did you just forget that the VAST majority of dead civilians have been killed by the soldiers working for the guy you just expressed your “deep regret” too?
Did you forget about the dead and suffering Ossetians like you forgot about the Palestinians when you went to Israel?
Yeah, he did answer that question 2 sentences later…
“No matter how this conflict started, Russia has escalated it…” Obama.
Well, I guess that answers that. No matter how it started… well, it STARTED with President Saakashvili, giving the orders to his army to blow the shit out of little townships and civilians in South Ossetia… that’s “how it started”, you miserable piece of shit!
Well, wait a minute, maybe Obama is just busy these days, and he hasn’t been able to research the issue. maybe he thinks that it all started when Russia moved further into that crappy little Georgian town where the Georgian Army was set up shelling South Ossetia from. maybe he just doesn’t know the current events.
“While returning to a pre-August 8 military posture is a necessary first step to resolving this crisis…. Georgia should refrain from using force in South Ossetia and Abkhazia…” Obama.
Ah, so lookie there. The Obama-hero DID know the real history of this situation, he DID know that on the 8th Saakashvili lobbed bombs into a CIVILIAN population to provoke a conflict, and he still sucked up to the monster and condemned… Russia… for all of this.
I’ll tell you; Obama is a real piece of work, ain’t he?. And what is more amazing is that so many liberals will keep rationalizing his every slander and betrayal of the root principles of the Democratic Party in the name of “the lesser of two evils” or some other mindless, subservient drivel, right up to the moment they reluctantly admit that this whole thing has been staged with a “ringer” for the Business Party since day one.
Barak Obama is no more a Democrat than Joe Lieberman is.
And maybe that is more accurate a comparison than I originally thought: look who is agreeing with our Democratic Savior, Barak Obama… Robert Kagan, William Kristol, Michael Leeden, and of course, Dick Cheney. Don’t believe me, go read it.
For those of you who want to read it, here is the Obama’s phony spin on the Georgia mess.
“Good morning. The situation in Georgia continues to deteriorate because of the escalation of Russia’s use of military force. I have spoken to President Saakashvili, and conveyed my deep regret over the loss of life, and the suffering of the people of Georgia.
For many months, I have warned that there needs to be active international engagement to peacefully address the disputes over South Ossetia and Abkhazia, including a high-level and neutral international mediator, and a genuine international peacekeeping force – not simply Russian troops.
No matter how this conflict started, Russia has escalated it well beyond the dispute over South Ossetia and invaded another country. Russia has escalated its military campaign through strategic bombing and the movement of its ground forces into the heart of Georgia. There is no possible justification for these attacks.
I reiterate my call for Russia to stop its bombing campaign, to stop flights of Russian aircraft in Georgian airspace, and to withdraw its ground forces from Georgia. The Georgian government has proposed a cease-fire and the Russian government should accept it. There is also an urgent need for humanitarian assistance to reach the people of Georgia, and casualties on both sides.
The United States, Europe and all other concerned countries must stand united in condemning this aggression, and seeking a peaceful resolution to this crisis. We should continue to push for a United Nations Security Council Resolution calling for an immediate end to the violence. This is a clear violation of the sovereignty and internationally recognized borders of Georgia – the UN must stand up for the sovereignty of its members, and peace in the world.
I welcome the visit of the French and Finnish foreign ministers to Georgia as a first step toward mediation. There should also be a United Nations mediator to address this crisis, and the United States should fully support this effort. We should also convene other international forums to condemn this aggression, to call for an immediate halt to the violence, and to review multilateral and bilateral arrangements with Russia – including Russia’s interest in joining the World Trade Organization.
The violence taking place along the Black Sea is just miles from Sochi, the site for the Winter Olympics in 2014. It only adds to the tragedy and outrage of the current situation that Russia has acted while the world has come together in peace and athletic competition in Beijing. This action is wholly inconsistent with the Olympic ideal.
While returning to a pre-August 8 military posture is a necessary first step to resolving this crisis, we cannot tolerate the unacceptable status quo that led to this escalation. That means Russian peacekeeping troops should be replaced by a genuine international peacekeeping force, Georgia should refrain from using force in South Ossetia and Abkhazia, and a political settlement must be reached that addresses the status of these disputed regions.
Going forward, the United States and Europe must support the people of Georgia. Beyond immediate humanitarian assistance, we must provide economic assistance, and help rebuild what has been destroyed. I have consistently called for deepening relations between Georgia and transatlantic institutions, including a Membership Action Plan for NATO, and we must continue to press for that deeper relationship.
The relationship between Russia and the West is long and complicated. There have been many turning points, for good and ill. This is another turning point.
Let me be clear: we seek a future of cooperative engagement with the Russian government, and friendship with the Russian people. We want Russia to play its rightful role as a great nation – but with that role comes the responsibility to act as a force for progress in this new century, not regression to the conflicts of the past. That is why the United States and the international community must speak out strongly against this aggression, and for peace and security.”

Obama… piece of new world order trash. McCain… piece of new world order trash.
Americans…. poor naive, stupid, dumbed-down, self-serving, distracted and hopelessly incurious.
They still live under the illusion that they are free. Just goes to show how really effective the CIA thought control programs are and have been. Well, at least some Americans are effective. Too bad it has to be the Great Satan of the CIA.
two-faced Obama…. at least Bush was conistent about his lies… Obama keeps switching sides and lies on both.
That’s right Jan. And I think, that is what makes Obama even more dangerous to our country than McCain. You see, Obama will be given a lot of leighway by the majority of the public, because they are so desperate for “change”. It will be a year or so before they come to the realization that he is just as bad for us as Bush was. They will even continue to surpress news of Obama’s malfeasance simply because they are worried that the republicans could use it to try and impeach him. This would, in effect, make Obama the real Manchurian Candidate.
If we really want to change this corrupt system anytime soon, we may be better off with McCain/Lieberman in the White House. At least then we know that the people will eventually wake up.
Thank you, again, for another important, ethically beautiful blog! I almost can’t believe that you exist. We’re very fortunate to have you.
LETS SEE NOW,,,,,,,huummmmm, vote for McCAIN, and we get 100 years more of war. vote for the antichrist, OH SHIT !!! I ain’t votin. Im stayin home that day.
Now we know the fix is in for sure. Obama’s getting help from Kerry? If you’re wanting to LOSE an election, then Kerry’s your man.

Kerry Launches Obama-Helping Anti-Smear Website
No stranger to being submarined by attack ads and smear campaigns, Sen. John Kerry is set to launch an online effort that will work to protect Barack Obama from suffering the same fate.
On Wednesday, the Massachusetts Democrat’s political action committee will launch TruthFightsBack.com, a website that encourages voters to flag and counterattack smears when they see them.
The site, in its nascent stages, signals a recognition that character and political attacks — even the most outrageous — all contain an inherent capacity to go viral and cause electoral ripples. Already, the Obama campaign has launched a counter-smear site of its own, titled “Fight The Smears.”
Kerry’s effort will be slightly different. The Senator won’t print “the attack” directly alongside “the truth.” But he will, according to Kerry’s Internet Director Brian Young, put more emphasis on the attacker and allow the site’s directors to decided how best to combat the attack.

Well, your blog was a little anger-ridden but I think you had some good points. I honestly do think that at one point Obama was progressive to some degree, namely when he lived in Chicago and was an activist there (he used to meet with the Palestinian community here on the South side).
But after being thrust into the American presidential machine he was forced to some extent to conform to corporate and bipartisan interests. Now, I’m not taking all the blame off him — in fact I think he deserved some of it. But I also think it was partially inevitable. You shouldn’t be that dissapointed.
FISA was sort of the last straw for me. AIPAC/Israel was bad, offshore drilling was bad, death penalty was bad, but FISA just tipped me over the edge because weeks prior he promised to fillabuster. Since I’m in Illinois I’m going to be voting third party unless Obama renounces his support for bill: http://tinyurl.com/5w9w9v
Vadim;
Yeah, i get alittle carried away sometimes. It’s better than beating the dog though..
I agree, Obama’s previous stances on many many issues bear little resemblance to what he is all about now.
Yes, that is part of running for office. but I sometimes wonder, if there’s not more too it than just that. Whatever it is, I can’t bring myself to support his candidacy at all these days.
I’m not really disappointed as I am angry. i have said all along that Obama showed his true colors when he allowed the DNC and the corporate media to weed out serious contenders in the primaries, while keeping his mouth shut and just going along.
The ONLY time he has stepped up for any other candidate was to ask HIS supporters to send money to Clinton’s campaign fund… after she had “dropped out”.
So, no. i am not “dissapointed”. i have known all along what he was about. i am disappointed in other “progressives” who are still going along for the ride and running their websites like a shine for the guy.
I live in Denver where the democratic national convention is currently going on. A friend and I have been out just photographing the police state they have created just because one of the people who may be the next “puppet” king is in town. The thing is they have a place (the only place where people can protest) so eloquently called the “freedom cage”. Which is located miles away from anything thats going on with the dnc. How ironic is that? If that doesn’t show the illusion of freedom itself nothing will. These morons really think they have a voice.
