Benazir Bhutto:
“While these groups (al Qaeda, Taliban, ect.) may have been used, I thought it was more important to after the people who supported them. Who organized them; who could possibly be the financiers for those groups. And I named 3 individuals who I thought were their sympathizers. Now I understand that I could be wrong. But these are the people that want to stop the restoration of democracy. They want to stop my return, because they know in 1993 when Pakistan was on the brink of being declared a terrorist state, I stopped the rise of terrorism. These are the forces that want to stop not just me but the democratic process and the will of the people from triumphing.”
[Here is a leader, who was about to be elected in Jan. that is acknowledging the connections between the Pakistani government and terrorist organizations. And I would say, she has a bit of credibility in this matter.]
“One of them (the 3 people she mentioned) is a very key figure in security, a former military officer; he is someone that has had dealings with Omar Sheikh, the man who murdered Osama bin Laden.”
[David Frost doesn't even respond or follow up on her comment that Osama bin Laden was murdered! He acts as if it were simply common knowledge. Perhaps outside our MSM, it is.]
“I would like to see a Pak-led police inquiry assisted by Scotland Yard or the FBI… to find out not only the perpetrators, but the financiers and the organizers of this heinous crime (the first bombing when she came back that took the lives of 158 people).”
[This may go to motive. She would have had the authority to call for this inquiry after she was elected Prime Minister. An international investigation into terrorism connections within the government of Pakistan. Quite possibly the reason she was murdered.]

That makes no sense. It seems more likely that she just misspoke – perhaps she meant to say “murdered with Osama bin Laden” or “murdered for Osama bin Laden” or “murdered Daniel Pearl on behalf of Osama bin Laden.” It’s odd that the comment went unchallenged, but it seems even more odd that Omar Sheikh would have killed bin Laden. It doesn’t make sense. And if it’s true, I’m really confused.
It does, in a way…
A terror suspect, whose waterboarding videos were destroyed, named 4 people who aided in financing terrorist activities, including 9/11.
Those 4 are all dead now, according to Saudi officials. 3 of them were Princes in the Royal Family (one died of “thirst”).
The other was a Pakistani official of some kind.
So, if the Saudi’s whacked out a Pakistani collaberator when the heat was on, why wouldn’t the Pakistani’s do the same to Osama to keep him from being caught and talking?
There is a lot of money flowing into Pakistan right now due to 9/11 (alot of it going missing too).
If they would plot to kill an ex and future Prime Minister to protect the cash cow, why not bin Laden?
Hi Willy! Happy Holidays to you! I’ve been hearing a lot of things about Omar Sheikh over the past 48 hours and this Bhutto interview is quite beguiling to say the least. The facts seem to roll off her tongue as though she is either attempting to slip in something which she knew would be explosive and indicting or something which she felt certain that everyone would already know; that is, perhaps everyone in countries where the media is not controlled such as ours.
I feel certain that the torture tapes were “disappeared” by the Bush Cabal because of incriminating evidence garnered against them which might indict them for their complicity in911.
It’s becoming evident to me that, in order for this country to move forward, we must find the ultimate truth about 911 – what happened and who knew about it. Clearly, the “Bush Neofascist agenda” could not have occurred without, in his own words, a “new pearl harbor” (aka false flag operation). Without 911, we would still have our constitutional freedoms intact and would not be a nation motivated by a fear agenda. Without 911, there would be no Patriot Act(the mere naming of this act sends chills up my spine because it is the opposite totally), illegal torturing occurring in our prisons, nor rendition to other countries to do the torturing for us “in absentia”. It’s all becoming a horrendous web of filth & lies and is consuming Bush and his cadre of liars totally.
I’m looking forward to Wexler’s movement toward impeachment to take root and I applaud his efforts. It is imperative that this country redeem itself in the eyes of the rest of the world who assume that “americans” are liars and crooks like our administration leaders which is far from the truth.
What makes me believe that Bhutto meant what she said and was not mistaking one name for another is taken from the outset of the interview where she describes people who might be interested in harming her – she clearly mentions a Bin Laden and describes him as Osama Bin Laden’s son. If she felt Osama was still alive,I think she would have mentioned him as well.
