The Smoking Gun Is a Mushroom Cloud…

explo2.jpg  Every single decision this administration has made has been to benefit large corporations at the cost of citizens. From attempting to privatize Social Security to the Plan B Prescription Plan; from No Bid Contracts to the reconstruction after Katrina; from No Child Left Behind to the threat of vetoing of the expansion of the CHIP program to provide Medicare coverage for more children. Everything for corporate welfare, first.

Police Provocateurs Exposed At the Montebello SPP Conference

Posted by willyloman on August 26, 2007

The Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) is causing a lot of ruffled feathers all over this continent. The majority of the MSM dismiss concerns about SPP as paranoid “conspiracy theories” yet there are a growing numbers of Americans, Mexicans, and Canadians who are very concerned that a North American version of the European Union is well on its way. montebello_20_ao_t_050_sized.jpg Pictures and video from the SPP conference from Aug. 20th in Montebello are certainly going to add fuel to the fire. But, of course, you won’t see the story on ABC. Though it is truly amazing.  It’s about Police officers dressing as protesters about to hurl a rock at other Police Officers so that a melee can ensue.

Public Relations War to Maintain Failed Surge

Posted by willyloman on August 25, 2007

 by Scott Creighton

William Kristol recently appeared on the Today Show with Matt Lauer to discuss how well the “surge” has been going in Iraq. He starts off the interview with that same, self-satisfied “I know better that everyone else what is good for America” smirk on his face. Remember it, because it doesn’t last long. And though no-one sees Lauer as a pit-bull investigative journalist in the mold of Murrow or Olbermann, Matt did a good job of pointing out serious discrepancies between what Kristol was trying to sell and the NIE report. Near the end, Kristol is practically begging for 6 more months to “see if the surge is working”. He is reduced to babbling the same old tired talking points as if he is afraid to muff the handoff on National television, in front of his bosses. Read the rest of this entry »

Timshel

It is neither noble nor patriotic to accept governance at face value; to acquiesce to authority for comforts sake. Diligence is the duty of the democratic. It is the responsibility of all who reside in the free republic to guard those freedoms from every potential usurper, both foreign and domestic, for not only their own liberty, but for the historical integrity of the institution itself. For our time is limited here and we are but day-players in an ongoing epic like those millions who came before and the countless who will endure long after we have moved on, it is their history we write today with our strength or our surrender. The Truth Behind Naming Iran’s Revolutionary Guard a “Terrorist” Organization

Posted by willyloman on August 17, 2007

 by Scott Creighton

So, we have waited around and blogged and waved signs on street corners; we have hopped up and down while some little radio personality chanted “Inside job” on a megaphone… and the entire time this administration and it’s enablers, on both sides of the legislature, have been setting the stage for another pre-emptive strike in another sovereign nation, for oil and profits. And who is this criminal organization that supports “terrorists”?  None other than Islamic Revolution’s Guards Corp; the largest branch of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s military. Something akin to the U.S. Army. But they also control the Basij. The Basij Resistance Force, as it is also known, is the all volunteer paramilitary established by the Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979. They have a standing force of about 400,000 in active and reserve forces (think their reserves have been called up?) but the really interesting thing is that they have a volunteer base that numbers somewhere close to 11 million! That’s right; 11 fucking million! Now you add that the IRGC regulars and the other armed services branches and you start to see that the surge wasn’t nearly enough! Read the rest of this entry »

Aid and Comfort

Posted by willyloman on August 13, 2007

 by Scott Creighton

The Information Age has ushered in new technologies in logistics, communications, and warfare that have redefined the world in which we live. The multinational corporations and international-hedge funds have erased the borders that once defined the countries that protect them in order to forcibly manifest the One World Economy necessary to continue to grow corporate gains beyond their previous limits. In order to do this, they purchased and then used the political influence necessary to lift troublesome trade restrictions, imposed crippling sanctions, and helped to ease labor laws within targeted manufacturing areas, on a massive scale. They leased local and state level politicians with campaign contributions, trips, and perks in order to accomplish higher profit margins thru a campaign of “deregulation” that was supposed to be beneficial for the country. Call For Impeachment

Posted by willyloman on August 10, 2007

by Scott Creighton

Early in Oct. of 2006, I began writing “Prescription for a Free Iraq“. It was mostly in reaction to the Republican Administrations claim that the Left had no Plan to get out of Iraq. “Prescription…” presents the idea that were we to: 1. prosecute the criminals that lied us into this illegal war; 2. halt the creation of military bases on another country’s soil: and 3. remove the contractors that are stealing the resources from the Iraqi People, then our soldiers would be much safer and the Iraqi resistance would not target them as they begin their redeployment. It is based on the idea that this rogue administration has committed treason by placing corporate interests ahead of national security. Read the rest of this entry »

For “Credibility”, the Left Drifts Right

Posted by willyloman on August 10, 2007

Say what you want about former Alaska Sen. Mike Gravel, last nights forum on Gay, Lesbian, and Trans-gendered rights nearly cut him from the heard and didn’t include him in the debate; just like the organizers of the AFL-CIO debate did 10 days ago. I guess Clinton’s and Edward’s “people” are doing the job they were told to do (see the conversation after the previous debate); get rid of the “not serious” candidates. Though, the funny thing is, if you listen to him, Gravel seems to be right there on the positions that the American left want discussed. But, once again, the ‘gatekeepers” are shifting the message to make their centrist position seem like the most “progressive” choice we have. And it’s not just in the choice of candidates, either. Globalization and Unregulated Overseas Wiretaps. Get it?

Posted by willyloman on August 5, 2007

 by Scott Creighton

The democrats in the House just caved in and handed this administration yet another arrow in a vast quiver of previously unheard of authorities over this nation. Cleverly titled in pure newspeak fashion, the “Protect America Act” (S 1927) was passed on in the House of Representatives by a vote of 227-183 just one day after it was approved in the Senate. On Friday, even though Nancy Pelosi had promised to set the item on the back burner and let it smolder for awhile there, the bill was suddenly moved ahead on the agenda and set for a vote. This bill allows for warrant less wiretaps to circumvent the FISA courts, yet again, to carry out surveillance directives targeting overseas communications, and, some say, can easily be extended to domestic to domestic communications. But again, many progressive bloggers are missing the point. Read the rest of this entry »
